QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is a very personal decision in which many factors are at play. However, it is not the government's place to make these types of decisions for citizens.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never. There should be a clear separation of church and state. Religion should not play a role in government's decision making and government should not play a role in religious matters.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Continue to evaluate threats and only intervene when there is proof of a direct threat to the U.S. or its citizens.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

While I support equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens I do not condone the BDS movement as it reduces the market's ability to function.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Eliminate government-subsidized healthcare and allow a competitive market to compete in order to reduce overall costs.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government and public school systems have no right to require vaccinations. It is each person's right to decide what they choose to inject into their body.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The current tax code punishes those who accumulate wealth and increases the country's GDP as a whole. While I disprove of taxes altogether, the only "fair" tax system is a flat tax via sales tax.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would evaluate district 100's assets and eliminate assets that have a poor return on investment for taxpayers. Doing so should reduce expenditures saving taxpayers hard-earned money.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

It is not the taxpayer's job to fund higher education; Especially if they do not seek higher education themselves. Instead, I would incentivize donations to higher education with a 100% tax right off. In order to ensure those funds are distributed to students for the purpose of education, a 3rd party auditor would evaluate these funds quarterly.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The U.S. is a melting pot of people and cultures from all walks of life. If an individual does not present a threat to the U.S. and carries the same tax burden as any other American they should be allowed to live here in peace.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

Schools should compete with each other to provide the best education.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Disagree

Those who uphold the law should not be immune from it as well. If departmental policy justifies qualified immunity in any way it needs to be reevaluated.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

Proper training is necessary for both police departments and those involved with community programs to handle a myriad of situations with citizens' safety being of the utmost importance.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Those who are guilty of violent crimes should not be allowed to own pistols or semi-automatic rifles. Other than that, any gun law reduces the country's and individual's ability as a whole to defend against threats.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Government should be limited to protecting the nation from foreign and domestic threats, protecting citizens from coercion and violence, settling disputes between individuals in a peaceful manner, and providing justice for crimes in which there is an affected party.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

Libertarians generally do not care for the political spectrum as it does not give a clear representation of our principles.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://www.libertarianism.org/what-is-a-libertarian

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My biggest priority for district 100 and the state is to reduce sales tax, decriminalize marijuana, eliminate straight-ticket voting, and reduce our budget to keep more money in citizen's pockets.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Disagree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Disagree

It is not the government's place to determine who can marry who and for whatever reason.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Choose not to answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian who has attended mainly Baptist and Methodist churches. I am a firm believer that my spiritual and political beliefs can differ on topics such as abortion, vaccinations, marriage not between a man and woman, etc. Each individual has the right to choose their own beliefs and my personal beliefs should not be pushed upon others through political power. I believe all individuals have fundamental rights to pursue life as they see fit as long as they do not directly/indirectly harm, discriminate, or disturb others.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Straight ticket voting (where you can vote for a single party) should not be allowed. In addition, new laws should be broken down into "plain" text for those of all education levels to be able to understand how a new law may affect them.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is indeed a problem in the United States. Only discussion and communication will allow for practical solutions and equal opportunity for all people regardless of race.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

The environment is something that affects everyone. The U.S. should become energy independent while also reducing greenhouse emissions. While the need for crude oil will exist for years to come regulations should push to support other forms of producing energy including; renewable energy, biofuels, nuclear energy, etc. Practices that are proven harmful to citizens and the environment should be reevaluated and other solutions considered.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
