Educators and administrators should serve as a conduit to resources for students and parents. Awareness, education and support are often key for the person confronted with the discovery of pregnancy. Too often, the lack of knowledge and resources, lead to choices, which can end in poor outcomes for the student, unborn child and the parents. Equipping schools with the necessary training to have these important conversations with parents and students, can lead to healthier parent/child relationships, while helping them get the proper resources to make healthier decisions regarding the pregnancy.

By faith, I believe life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death. I support access to necessary medical intervention to protect the life of the mother and the child, without government interference. I believe women should have the ability to preserve and pursue their manifested destiny. I support rights for the birth mother and father to make choices to preserve their decisions within their own faith, beliefs and/or personal values.

I fully support government funding for public education from Pre-K through college. Equity in education is critically important to an industrialized society. Access to opportunities to learn, whether through higher education or technical training, provides everyone the chance to support the needs of the society, while offering economic mobility. Effective curriculum is essential in the teaching and learning process. When designed properly, it facilitates the transfer of knowledge with real-life application. While there is no one ideal method for curriculum development, there are certain essential elements of professionally designed curricula. Reasoned, fact-based theory avoids violating individual beliefs. When properly applied in instruction, these elements give a solid framework for effective curriculum.

These resources should be available and administered to parents and their children through a third-party resource such as a social worker or mental health provider. Teachers have a solemn responsibility to listen, learn, support and educate. Educators should limit their focus on values-based education that creates a strong learning environment that enhances academic achievement and develops students' social and relationship skills that extends through their formative years.
