QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Educators and administrators should serve as a conduit to resources for students and parents. Awareness, education and support are often key for the person confronted with the discovery of pregnancy. Too often, the lack of knowledge and resources, lead to choices, which can end in poor outcomes for the student, unborn child and the parents. Equipping schools with the necessary training to have these important conversations with parents and students, can lead to healthier parent/child relationships, while helping them get the proper resources to make healthier decisions regarding the pregnancy.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
By faith, I believe life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death. I support access to necessary medical intervention to protect the life of the mother and the child, without government interference. I believe women should have the ability to preserve and pursue their manifested destiny. I support rights for the birth mother and father to make choices to preserve their decisions within their own faith, beliefs and/or personal values.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
I fully support government funding for public education from Pre-K through college. Equity in education is critically important to an industrialized society. Access to opportunities to learn, whether through higher education or technical training, provides everyone the chance to support the needs of the society, while offering economic mobility. Further, it gives every citizen the ability to compete in a competitive work environment for positions of greater responsibilities.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
Effective curriculum is essential in the teaching and learning process. When designed properly, it facilitates the transfer of knowledge with real-life application. While there is no one ideal method for curriculum development, there are certain essential elements of professionally designed curricula. Reasoned, fact-based theory avoids violating individual beliefs. When properly applied in instruction, these elements give a solid framework for effective curriculum.
EDUCATION
Abortion and gender transitioning providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
These resources should be available and administered to parents and their children through a third-party resource such as a social worker or mental health provider. Teachers have a solemn responsibility to listen, learn, support and educate. Educators should limit their focus on values-based education that creates a strong learning environment that enhances academic achievement and develops students' social and relationship skills that extends through their formative years.
Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.
Strongly Agree
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?
Yes
Community stakeholders, through their elected board officials, should have the opportunity to voice their concerns over material they find objectable. Ultimately, robust interaction and open dialogue between students, educators, administrators and parents can provide the necessary review to ensure our students are provided information and resources to provide a world-class education.
Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.
Strongly Agree
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Strongly Agree
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are not only important to individual development but beneficial to society. In faith, we are called to support and treat our neighbors as we would want them to treat ourselves. Diversity allows for new perspectives, equity creates an environment of unified purpose and can help to provide opportunities for individuals who need it, and inclusion helps students and staff feel a collectives sense of belonging and understanding.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Disagree
We must never forget our American history and the negative impact it had on our communities, students and educators.
If a member of the public flags (challenges) a book as inappropriate and the school board disagrees, should the board impose a moratorium on when the book can be challenged again? If yes, for how long?
Yes; the book should be reviewed for content. Challenges should be merit based and limited to specific content. These challenges should be allowed at the end of each board term and renewed, only if merited, prior to the next school term.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Neutral
Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?
Equality of opportunities.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
Both; the ability to Opt-In and/or Opt-Out

An outsourced community committee working is concert with educators, administrators and the school board.

If sexual education is taught in schools, what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
The appropriate age of sex education is dependent on the parent, in communication with their child. Sex education should be included in grades 7–12, but, starting as early as grade 6. General health instruction should begin as early as grades 4-6.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree
Should schools be giving instruction on how to engage in sexual acts, the pleasures of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or should they instead focus on educating students about the science of reproduction?
Schools have a responsibility to teach health, well-being and the general science of the human body and condition. Educators should not engage in teaching sexual gratification or topics that would be considered pornea.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.
Neutral
In the event of a pandemic, school districts should implement health precautions deemed necessary under strict guidance from national, state and local officials to protect students and staff. These conditions must be determined based on the local condition and the applicability of the specific threat.
