QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
All. It is not my place to tell a person what they can or can't do with their body. We can make abortion safe, legal and rare.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Raise taxes on the wealthy. Tax corporations so they spend money on new equipment and installations rather than on stock buybacks. Lower taxes on the middle class.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Military. After every war up to Korea we demobilized and used that money for Americans. I don't want to be that extreme but we need to cut military spending to help fix all our other problems.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Agree
Through college includes trade schools because not everyone should go to college.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Even though I think religion is a scourge upon mankind I don't think government should ever close churches except during a public health crisis where gathering a lot of people into an enclosed area could lead to a large number of people getting sick and spreading it to others.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B. If someone chooses to opt out of government funded health care they should have that right as long as they have some form of health care.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
We already require vaccinations for school. One for Covid should be included. Employers can provide their own rules for vaccinations without a government mandate though the government could reward companies that do require vaccinations.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Stop bombing other countries. Work with other countries to help eradicate ALL terrorist organizations, not just Islamic ones.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Neutral
I have never been to the border so i don't know all the conditions there. I am not going to guess. I think we can use high tech to make all our borders more secure.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
All who wish to should be allowed in some form or other.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Disagree
I do not support public money going to non-public schools. Put that extra money into schools and make them better.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Disagree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Disagree
There is nothing religious about marriage unless the couple getting married decide to make it so.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Neutral
Having not had the upper level law school course known as CRT, I cannot tell what it asserts. I doubt if you can either.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe there is peace in nature and we should look with awe upon all that is outside of us. I believe kindness is the best thing we can do for ourselves and others. I believe there is more to life than we know or even can know or understand. I believing doing good is better than doing bad.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Agree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
As soon as someone turns 18 they should automatically be registered to vote. We should have more early voting. We should have more mail-in or drop box voting. Drop boxes should be plentiful. I believe we should be able to work out a way to securely vote electronically--we do most of our banking and taxes electronically we should be able to vote electronically though I'd want to make sure it was fool proof. We need to make it EASIER to vote, not harder.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes. Anything that weakens us a nation is a domestic security threat. Racism certainly weakens us as a nation.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Neutral
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B. Worth the cost.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Neutral
I want to take a closer look at it before I say conclusively whether I'm for or against it.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To organize for the greater good of all.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
none
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
We need to make mental health well-being on par with physical health well-being.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
End qualified immunity
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Agree
The police should not be handling cases they're not trained to handle.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No assault-style rifles. Limit sizes of magazines. Limit amount of ammunition any individual can buy in a certain period of time. Red flag laws. All guns sold form this time forward should be equipped with a trigger lock. Greatly expanded background checks. No guns for domestic violence abusers.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
