QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As the mother of four, I am proud to be pro-life. In Kansas, our present focus must be on passing Value Them Both, due to the 2019 Kansas Supreme Court decision which could lead to no restrictions in Kansas at all. Ultimately, I certainly believe that an exception must be allowed for the life of the mother.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

As a wife and mom in a growing family, I was pleased to see the legislature eliminate the food sales tax and reduce property taxes. With the current inflation crushing our economy, we must continue to pursue economic policies, including tax reductions, that help out everyone with a focus on families, seniors, and small businesses.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The state budget is already balanced and enjoys a healthy rainy day fund, and this is a good thing. However, as Biden’s economy takes us in the direction of a recession, we must be wise stewards of taxpayer dollars. This means looking at every program to ensure it’s working and being run in the most efficient way possible.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

I support our public schools, but I disagree with a Bernie Sanders approach of making college free for all.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never. This year, there was a bi-partisan effort to ensure a governor can never close a church, and I would have supported that bill.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

This question deserves a more nuanced answer. Medicaid and Medicare certainly should be available, but I oppose government ran universal health care. Any additional program must always be carefully scrutinized. My preference is to embrace solutions within the private sector, such as the expansion of Health Savings Accounts and providing consumers more choices. A good example is the bi-partisan effort to allow APRNs more freedom to practice, which helps everyone have access to great care.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I am opposed to any COVID-19 vaccine mandates, and was supportive of the action taken in the Special Session to protect the liberty of Kansans in this regard, which was signed into law by the governor.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

This is more of a federal question, but we certainly should do all we can to secure our border and not support sanctuary cities. This year, my opponent took a radical view on immigration and opposed the bill to ban sanctuary cities in Kansas, which even the governor signed.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I stand with Israel.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I support legal immigration and believe our process should encourage people who want to move to the United States to follow the law.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Agree

I am strongly in favor of a student-focused approach to education. Last year, I stood with other parents to fight for our kids who were harmed by the lockdowns and mandates. I believe we should welcome parental involvement and support by providing them more options, with a focus on children who are stuck in failing schools. While any particular proposal must be carefully examined, we should welcome innovative ideas that help our students succeed.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I attend Bridge Church.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

In the last several years, the Kansas Legislature has enacted several common sense election reform bills, including voter ID requirements, restrictions on ballot harvesting, and other measures to include our system is honest. Most of these are now enacted into law, and I support them.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

We are all proud of our state’s history of rejecting racism. However, I believe the far-left’s obsession with declaring any support for common-sense policies racist is very harmful to our country.?

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A – I strongly support policies which ensure a clean environment, as do most Kansans. However, I oppose Green New Deal type policies that are based on a radical agenda and not common sense. We are all paying the price at the pump now for such radical ideas.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

As your State Representative, I will take an oath to uphold the United States and Kansas Constitutions – including protecting our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. That will be my approach through all actions we take.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Did not answer

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

*Fight Inflation. Biden's policies have been a disaster for Lenexa and Shawnee families. We must work to pass sound economic and tax policies that ease the burden of inflation and put people first. We made a great start this year with the elimination of the food sales tax, and I believe we can do more. *Focus on Students. As the mother of four, the strength of our schools has always been incredibly important to me, just as it is for you. I believe we can achieve student success by listening to parents, demanding quality curriculum, and getting funding to the classroom so our teachers have the resources they need to get results. *Promote Freedom & Opportunity. It is imperative that our leaders are willing to defend life, liberty, and our constitutional rights, while working towards solutions that empower people. That means reducing red tape, removing mandates, and encouraging entrepreneurship. As a small businesswoman, I understand the struggles of the last two years and how important it is that state government stands on the side of those who are growing our economy.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly support our Lenexa and Shawnee police.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and Kansans are, as well.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
