OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Rape and incest.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

As a caregiver for my mother for now 25 years.... I see no reason than to care for her. God will decide when it's time to take her home.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

A review of all the tax codes alone is a bit overwhelming. If I were going to dive into a few it would be parental rights and senior care. We should make it easier to care for our most venerable not more complicated.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I'd eliminate all pensions for elected officials.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

I chose a college education. But vocational options are just as strong and lucrative. But I don't believe we should be "guaranteeing" tax payer funded education.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Who wants someone to be forced to bake a cake for a same sex wedding that doesn't want to make their cake? Not me. Businesses should have the freedom, as we all do to be a customer of their business, to decided whom to serve.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

If a Church was in the path of a hurricane, for example, common sense would say not to be in the church. But honestly, Government should not be in the business of closing down churches.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C. I'm running on a platform of Senior Care....we can do better. As a caregiver for my mom for 25 years I've had to learn the ins and outs of the process. I'll be 57 this year, not far from retirement age. How will I know what my navigation system will be then. We must care for seniors like we advocate for children.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

These decisions should be that of parents/adults. Not government, schools or employers.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Rather than funding wars, we should be taking a hard look at controlling our borders and who we allow into our Country. Freedom scares terrorist as they are not allowed such a gift. So of course they will always look at ways to destroy it.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Choose not to answer

I could craft a perfect answer here....but, I would like to know more to do so.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

YES YES YES

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone who legally wishes to enter our country and follow the path to citizenship.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I am an openly gay conservative. Men are men. Women are Women. But let's keep it real, we are all Americans and there's no need to keep dividing in the name of equality.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Neutral

Marriage, sadly, ends in a 50/50 situation. Same sex marriage is legal. It's simply not a priority for me. My focus is on senior care, not issues already decided by the Supreme Court. That excludes, by the way, Roe vs Wade....to me abortion is murder...not birth control.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I grew up in a Pentacostal household. My grandparents pulling up every Sunday to honk the horn until my sister and I would stumble out, as kids, to go to church. But as I reflect, even though my "maw maw" would have to keep me from fidgiting with "Certs" mints to calm me down.... those memories of going to church with them stay with me each and every day. And yes, I still sing "Looking for a City," by the Goodmans is on my play list.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

If you need a photo ID to open a checking account, cash a check, buy a home....on and on and on...I see no reason why you should not need to provide photo ID to vote. Moreover, while a bit extreme, I think all voting should be completed on election day unless you are in the military overseas.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Various groups tend to try and take us backwards when we're really far more advanced than what is often portrayed in the media. The days of rabid actvisim are behind us. We need to keep it that way. Let's move forward...

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Oh geez....we went from being energy independent to dependent on foreign countries. I look at electric cars and windmills that literally are far more destructive to our environment. I'm A.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of government, in my opinion, is to maintain a sense of order. We must rely on States and municipalities to do what is best in their particular situations. We need less Government....not more.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

I have never been convicted of a felony or penalized in civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I'm pro life. I'm pro business I'm pro freedom I'm pro parental choice. But my primary issue is Senior Care. As a caregiver I've experienced it all when it comes to everything from quality to affordable care. I believe this is a nonpartisan issue. My first Bill will be named after my mom "Betty's Bill." We can and should do better for Seniors. It will be my priority in Tallahassee.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

I'm all about funding the police not defunding the police. But each situation is unique and should be reviewed uniquely.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

Oh if it were this easy. As a victim of same sex domestic abuse I want a police officer there, not someone trying to negotiate my safety.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. The 2nd Amendment exist for a reason. Good men/women with a gun are good. When we start blaming weapons we lose track of the real challenge which is addressing mental illness. We have red flag laws in Florida put in place by then Governor now Senator Scott. I'll bend a bit on whether we should raise the age to 21 to purchase a gun, but let's be honest....how do we send men and women to combat/war at 18, then tell them when they come home they can't buy or own a firearm. It all comes down to common sense.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
