QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am pro-life, the child is a new life, separate from the parents. None.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Abortion is murder, the U.S. I grew up in was Christian and pro-life. I will work to end Planned Parenthood's using public funds to commit murder, and to profit from that murder.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
It has been demonstrated that there are those who could care less if the old folks exist at all. The potential for abuse is too great and God's Plan does not provide for seppuku.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I am seeking state office. In Alaska, reductions to reduce the burden upon the private sector and resource development.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Social programs including affirmative action programs, including defunding abortion and LGBTQ and other communist inspired indoctrination in our schools; and any spending not directly related to basic services. Basic services are transportation infrastructure, public safety, and education. Smaller gov't is better gov't, a balanced budget is necessary to fiscal stability.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Many of the ANTIFA and BLM goons responsible for the riots of 2020 and ongoing learned their trade in college. The 'easy' money needs to end, with severe restrictions as to what the money can be used for: courses directly associated with a legitimate major--engineering, medical, professional, education and not CRT or other communist inspired anti-American ideology. If the public loans--Stafford, and state programs cannot be so restricted, then they should be terminated.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
NEVER. 1st Amendment.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C, because too many are dependent upon this, the tax code forces us to contribute, rather than seek private sector alternatives. The goal should be D, but that is not practical.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Personal choice, doctor patient privacy and relationship, not the choice of gov't.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Remove the Muslims back to their home countries, Islam means submission and is hostile to anything not Islam. The U.S. is dar al Harm, the land of war. There is no accommodation with Islam, it is opposed to the Constitution, our rule of law, and our Judeo-Christian traditions and law.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
Israel is the only western democracy in the ME.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Skilled workers and professionals, as necessary. Economic migration is not conducive to sovereignty or the national defense. Lowers wages.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Best choice is homeschool. Your kids will be educated, not indoctrinated.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Communist inspired thought, divisive and a lie.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Christian, conservative, married 50 years--God Family Country. My mother's maiden name is Washington. I am a nationalist, America First, 67yr Alaskan, MAGA and a Trump supporter since 2016. The Constitution is the supreme law of this land.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
After 2020, either we require photo ID or we lose this country. Photo ID is readily available and accessible even in the Alaska Bush communities.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Photo ID, vote in person, mail-in only in the case of absence or military service, enforce and verify chain of custody and ban electronic voting machines.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Only as used by the Democrats. Racism was largely a settled issue until Obama's Admin, and under Biden, there is open racism against the majority population.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A.. reason and science should prevail.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To do that which the individual cannot--provide for the public welfare, safety and national defense.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
The Constitution is the SUPREME LAW of the land. Period.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
My mother's maiden name is Washington. I am running for state office in Alaska, not the lower-48. I have written many opinion pieces published over the years since about 1978 that demonstrate my Faith, and political beliefs.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I will try. That is all that can be promised. My website is woodhd25.com. I will post my positions, issues and other info there.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Alaska has the Mental Health Authority lands to use to pay for a mental health system.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Enforce the laws against criminal use and criminal possession. I carry daily.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
The arms industry is a national defense issue, and a personal rights issue--'. . . shall not be infringed.'
