QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support access to health care for low-income Alaskans, including prenatal care, maternal health services, and preventive care. I do not support expanding taxpayer funding for elective abortion procedures.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

True human rights must apply to everyone, especially the most vulnerable and voiceless among us. Protecting unborn life from conception is the ultimate test of a moral and just society. Consensual sexual activity implies an acceptance of the risk of pregnancy, bringing an obligation to care for the resulting life from the moment of conception

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Disagree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Neutral

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I support a fair, predictable minimum wage that recognizes Alaska’s high cost of living. No Alaskan who works full time should be unable to afford basic necessities. Increases must be responsible and phased in so that small businesses.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Disagree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

I will fight government waste by requiring agencies to justify spending, auditing ineffective programs, reducing duplicative administration, and enforcing stronger oversight of contracts and consultants. Taxpayer dollars should go to results: public safety, roads, education, senior care, and economic growth, not bureaucracy, fraud, or programs that do not work.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

To me, separation of church and state means government should not establish, favor, or compel any religion, while every Alaskan remains free to practice their faith or no faith without government interference. Faith and values are important to many people and can guide individual lives, but public officials must uphold the Constitution and serve all constituents fairly.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

No. Individuals and businesses should not be forced by government to violate sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. However, all Alaskans deserve to be treated with dignity and have reasonable access to goods and services. The balance is protecting both freedom of conscience and the public’s ability to participate fully in community life.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C. Medicaid and Medicare should remain available for seniors, people with disabilities, low-income families, and Alaskans who depend on them. Alaska should focus on improving access, controlling costs, and reducing bureaucracy, especially in rural communities while preserving private healthcare choices and avoiding a universal government healthcare system.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

No. The government should protect medical privacy and avoid creating unnecessary databases that track people based on their illnesses. Legislators can evaluate healthcare costs using anonymous, aggregated data without identifying individual patients or putting sensitive personal information at risk.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The CCP poses serious military, cybersecurity, intellectual-property, and economic threats to the United States. Alaska and the nation must protect critical infrastructure, secure sensitive technology and data, strengthen our supply chains, and maintain a strong national defense. We must hold the CCP accountable for unfair trade practices and foreign influence.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. The U.S. relationship with Israel is important because Israel is a key democratic ally in a volatile region and an important partner in intelligence, defense, technology, and counterterrorism. We should stand with Israel’s right to defend itself, support efforts to secure lasting peace, and ensure U.S. policy remains focused on protecting American interests and national security.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

No. I do not support sanctuary city policies that prevent local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities when serious crimes are committed. Alaska communities deserve public safety policies that enforce the law, protect victims, and ensure dangerous offenders are not shielded from accountability.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

I support returning more control over education to states, local communities, parents, and teachers. The federal DOE has grown into a costly bureaucracy that often imposes one-size-fits-all mandates without improving student outcomes. Alaska’s schools face unique rural, cultural, and transportation challenges, and education policy should be shaped closer to the families and communities it serves.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Yes, prohibiting foreign governments from funding or influencing American education. Schools and universities must be transparent about foreign funding, partnerships, or research agreements, especially when they involve nations that may seek to influence curriculum, access sensitive research, or shape public opinion. Our education system should serve students, families, and our national interest, not foreign governments.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Parents have the fundamental right and responsibility to direct their children’s health care and education. Government should support parents with clear information, school choice, and transparency, not replace parental judgment or keep families in the dark about decisions affecting their children.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support expanding gambling in Alaska. We should focus on policies that strengthen our families, promote productive economic growth, and protect vulnerable residents from addiction and financial harm.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My faith and conservative upbringing have shaped my belief in personal responsibility, service to others, honesty, and respect for the dignity of every person. Having attended both parochial and public schools, I value the role of faith, family, and community while respecting the constitutional freedom of every individual to practice their beliefs or no belief at all. My values guide me to listen, serve with humility, protect Alaskan families, and make decisions based on principle rather than politics.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

No. I support requiring valid photo identification to vote, with practical safeguards to ensure every eligible voter can obtain an ID at no unnecessary cost or burden. Secure elections protect every lawful vote, strengthen public confidence, and help prevent fraud or improper voting.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

No. I do not support government reparations based on race. We should treat people as individuals and provide opportunity based on need, hardship, and merit not racial classifications. Address poverty, educational gaps, and economic barriers with policies that help struggling families of every background while protecting equal treatment under the law.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

I support protecting fairness, safety, and privacy for women and girls. Athletic competition and sex-specific spaces such as locker rooms, shelters, and prisons should be based on biological sex. Policies must protect the rights, safety, and opportunities of women without demeaning anyone.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

No, Alaska should protect its environment, prepare for changing conditions, and support responsible stewardship of our land, water, and wildlife. I do not support rushed political mandates that raise energy costs, weaken American energy security, or punish working families and resource-producing communities. Alaska should pursue practical, science-based solutions that protect our environment while supporting jobs, affordable energy, and responsible development.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Safe nuclear power is one of the most reliable long-term energy sources for meeting growing electricity demand in Alaska. Modern nuclear technology provides steady, around-the-clock power with a small land footprint. Evaluate small modular reactors.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I describe myself as very conservative because I believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility, strong families, public safety, secure elections, religious liberty, parental rights, and a strong national defense. I support Alaska’s energy and resource development, affordable and reliable power, and local control over education and community decisions. My goal is practical, accountable government that protects individual freedom and creates opportunity for working families.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

NO!

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

NO!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The justice system must protect the public, support victims, and hold serious offenders accountable. But minor offenses and first-time mistakes should not follow someone forever. Alaska should reform CourtView so low-level, nonviolent records can be sealed or limited after a sentence is completed, helping people gain employment, support their families, and become productive members of the community. Avoid unnecessary and potentially increase homelessness.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Government has a responsibility to protect children from online sexual exploitation by enforcing laws against predators, strengthening reporting requirements for platforms, improving cooperation with law enforcement, and ensuring parents have effective tools to protect their children. Online safety must prioritize children’s privacy, innocence, and well-being.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

Our legal system must remain based in the Constitution, federal and state law, and equal protection for all. No religious code, including Sharia law, should replace or override American law. Every American has the constitutional right to practice their faith freely, so long as it does not conflict with the rights and laws that protect others.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support the Second Amendment and the right of law-abiding Alaskans to own firearms for self-defense, hunting, and lawful recreation. Public safety is protected by enforcing existing laws, prosecuting the violent criminals, preventing prohibited persons such as convicted violent felons from possessing firearms, and improving mental-health intervention when there is a clear, lawful threat of harm.
