To be totally honest, I am against lobbyists. Ex: I believe the Florida School Board Assoc. is controlled by the teacher's union. Unions have done much of the damage in our schools throughout this county, our state and our nation. I believe much of the lobbying is done from this group. I would recommend that we disassociate ourselves with them and find other areas where we can invest our time and resources for a great ROI. We, as a Board, need to go to Tallahassee and make our voice heard.

I have no problem with k-12 being paid for by the government. I believe the money should follow the student. But I am not in favor of the government paying for college educations. If we were to do that, every student that goes to a trade school should have that paid for, as well.

I have a BA in Elementary Education, but God called me into full-time music ministry as a full-time Worship Pastor. Now that I'm part-time, I want to invest my time in public service, especially related to our students in Polk County. I have started 3 successful businesses in the 28 years I've lived here, but now I only have one side business helping a widow manage her 5 rentals. Covid has revealed what has been going on in our public schools nation-wide and it's no different here in Polk County. We must replace liberal school board members with those that have conservative values and desire to improve our public schools and the learning of her students.
