QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Neutral
Recreational sex is a personal choice and in turn a personal (or couples) responsibility. I would prefer to see decrease in unplanned pregnancies altogether, partially from getting much closer to parity in men's reproductive choices.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
A legal adult of sound mind should have the freedom to choose the nature of their own death.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Before heartbeat by far preferable, and as soon after that otherwise. I might suggest an increasingly steep fine and/or community service (for the couple preferably) the closer one gets to term. Exceptions for detected birth defects. As above, I'd much rather see a reduction in unplanned pregnancies altogether. Pregnancy tests are inexpensive.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Neutral
Not by taxation. Would like to see the ratio of executive pay to average employee pay decrease though.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
Also facilitate more revenue and reduction in the trade deficit.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I need to look into this more.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
It may be more a matter of rebranding to compete with modern distractions.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
To the extent a business is a large and/or public company, I agree. Individuals or small businesses, not so much.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The United States was founded as Christian nation. Religion, efficient at imbuing one with a moral compass, should still inform civics. It is part of the value of our culture.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
When they are sufficiently vetted for safety and efficacy, with benefits reconciled with risks. Covid vaccines were not.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B - "The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny." We should be mindful of tyranny at home as well.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
I need to look into this more. I'm for reduced conflict between Israelis and Arab-Palestinians but I'm not sure BDS is the best approach.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
I'm particularly concerned about the treatment of Uyghurs, and, labor/environmental laws. We want domestic businesses to compete internationally then hamper them with competitive disadvantage by regulation. Hypocrisy.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Improve relationships with non-terrorist Muslims.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
The Democratic party's handling of the southern border degrades the meaning of US citizenship.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
US citizenship, with its benefits, would seem to be a federal power. States should not financially enable contradicting a federal power.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
No one until the budget is in order ;) I need to look into this more.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Oh, hell no. This is Marxist subversion. It is ridiculous to live in a world superpower with so much and reward victim narratives.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I'm Irish Catholic and a Men's Rights Advocate.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Degrading to the value of US Citizenship to not require a photo ID for the important action of voting yet require one for so many aspects of daily life. This should be simple unless a party wants to cheat at elections.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Unique identifiers on ballots and chain of custody (gps, touch id, etc) on ballots and processing. Reduction in mail in ballots, at least two party representation for all ballot processing. Retail shopping and banking have an order of magnitude better integrity than voting - ridiculous!
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
This is also racism. Biggest mistake here is correlation not causation. Reparation by race but not by class? This should immediately invite constitutional lawsuits. Reduce the welfare state, unplanned children, housing costs. Increase lifetime access to education. Reduce cost of living. Reparations? Hell no.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. Victim identity politics is a threat to domestic security in the United States.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B) "Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost." But they should allow for international competitiveness, be specific in nature for benefit, and be phased in to prompt innovation.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I'm only temporarily leaning conservative because of encounters with crazy leftists in my neighborhood, and, working at a University for too long. ;)
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
N/A
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I have a 25 year career in IT, data architect and software engineer - I'd use analytics to partially inform legislative action. My legislative priorities are (1) affordable housing (2) police/community relationship (3) educational outcomes (4) business attractiveness (5) family (6) mental health. I am also a Men's Rights Advocate. As side gig, I might advise on concepts like "Relationship Insurance" and what not. As Congressman for CD5, I envision the Minneapolis "city-state" becoming a North Star, achieving legendary status. One of the best places to pursue your happiness, heal, do business, and/or have kids (2.1+!).
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
Of course the tricky part here is "conduct consistent with departmental policy" and the he said/she said game in the absence of other evidence.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
These are separate budget items.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Not more than present. People need to be better. Unarmed populations are easier to control, no thanks!
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
