QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion, defined as a procedure with the objective of ending an unborn life, should never be condoned by the state. Medical procedures necessary to protect the life of the mother which carry risk of endangering the unborn child are a separate matter which should be protected. The key difference is whether the procedure has as its objective the termination of a human life.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Choose not to answer

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

A minimum wage is a price control on labor. Like any price control, it introduces noise into the price signal which disrupts economic activity, eliminating options for both employees and employers. It is immoral and impractical to dictate prices.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The freedom of religious expression should be protected. A church should not be subject to closure by state decree.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C. We need price transparency in the healthcare sector to enable end-users to shop for the best value. This works in every other sector of the economy. Healthcare is no different.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. No person or entity has the right to require an individual to submit to a medical treatment. Public accommodation should be available to all regardless of their personal medical decisions.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel stands as a vanguard of democratic representation in a region where individual rights are routinely violated. The United States should support our ally in the region to ensure stability and maintain an international order conducive to free trade and free travel. Israel has the right to exist, and the right to take action in furtherance of its continued existence in the face of perpetual aggression and hostility from surrounding enemies who also threaten the U.S.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a bible-believing Christian who believes that our purpose is to glorify God through recognition of his divine authority and obedience to his commandments. The government should not compel people to that end. However, the inherent dignity of human beings should remain at the center of public policy, prompting the protection of life, liberty, and property.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Institutionalized racism, which takes the form of public policies which explicitly and intentionally discriminate against people based on their race, ethnicity, or national origin, do present a threat. The constitutional order requires all people to be treated equally under the law, not given preference or denied rights and privileges due to their race. Private sentiments, no matter how repugnant, should not be subject to government scrutiny under the First Amendment.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A. The enactment of policies restricting affordable, abundant, and reliable energy threaten the integrity of the electrical grid and endanger critical energy supply during a time when demand for base load power is increasing. We should expand use of nuclear, natural gas, propane, and any reliable base load energy source which can be produced relatively cleanly.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Modular nuclear should be embraced. Natural gas and propane are abundant, broadly available domestically, and can be produced and utilized in a clean manner.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Government is a public trust ordained by the People to secure their general welfare by upholding individual rights recognized in common law and enshrined in the state and federal constitutions. Government should protect life, liberty, and property from the predations of hostile individuals (criminals) and abusive institutions (including itself).

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Reasonable ordinance and statute restricting reckless use of firearms are appropriate - for example, municipal prohibitions on the discharge of firearms in residential area, or generalized negligent storage laws which rely upon a reasonable person standard. The arbitrary restriction of gun ownership, or unreasonable restrictions on self-defense, are violations of the Second Amendment. I support "constitutional carry," "castle doctrine," and "stand your ground."

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
