QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Agree

It is always important to keep social agendas and political dollars out of our schools.

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Of course exceptions should be made for the health of the mother, and prior to a heartbeat. Each circumstance is valid, and requires much care.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.

Strongly Disagree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I agree with government supplementation, but not full funding. Unfortunately with government funding comes government curriculum and policies that compromise individual rights. Again, these are good conversations to have, and I am open to flexibility in all areas, so long as family rights are not compromised.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Agree

It is so important to have free and open discourse, and ironically it is the bedrock of liberalism.

School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Schools shouldn't discriminate against anyone, period.

Students should not be allowed to pray in school.

Disagree

Any student should be free to pray in school, so long as it does not disrupt the academic day.

EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

The school board should establish a vision for the district, supported by goals to achieve the vision. The school board is also responsible for managing the district budget and performance of schools, employees, and superintendents. It is also the school board's responsibility to listen to parents and community stakeholders to implement change as needed. The board should keep any social ideologies out of the school curriculum, and protect the academic integrity of it's curricula in partnership with its teachers.

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

I believe the state should set forth a framework of standards for the district, but that it's the individual districts, school building admin. and teachers who have final say over specific resources and actual texts. Parents and community members have full rights to transparency and rights to object should they find resources that promote political/ social ideologies. These things divide classrooms. It's best to give students the tools to think and build on high level academics so they can have their own robust dialogue as they grow older. For young children, simple academic foundations are the key to success.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Never, unless it becomes unsafe for themselves or others.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, American History, Art & Music, Physical Fitness, Foreign Language, Vocational Learning, Information Technology, Personal Finances

American civics education should emphasize our nation's founding principles of liberty and equality.

Strongly Agree

100%

Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.

Strongly Agree

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Strongly Agree

I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.

Strongly Disagree

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a practicing Christian, which means I am thoughtful in my word, and put kindness above all in my interactions.

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Disagree

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Only parents, and at the age the parents deem necessary.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex

I do not support this in public school.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Strongly Agree

I am a very strong advocate for medical freedom, as bodily autonomy is at the core of true freedom.

No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.

Strongly Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

It is important for election integrity that we can verify and track our votes.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

A candidate's personal moral values should not be relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.

Disagree

We all rely on our values and personal ethics when making decisions. It is certainly a factor when considering a representative for the public.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I chose not to label myself only because each of the above terms is subjective, and means something different to every individual person. I welcome others to attribute their own label after reading my other answers.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a candidate strongly fighting for parental rights in education, raising our teachers wages, medical freedom, equal access to high quality facilities, curriculum, advanced placements, and special education services. This is not a job for me; it is a calling. I am a very happy stay-at-home mom, forced to enter our school board race because many of our schools are failing so badly. Career and college readiness is one way to measure the success of a high school, and the large majority of our schools are below 50% preparedness, despite graduating almost 100% of students. We are doing a disservice to our community by manipulating data for rankings. Our kids need us to step in right now, and I am here to do just that. I am a mother of 4, and as such, the success of our children depends in large part on the success of the schools. In my heart, I know this to be true for every family.

2ND AMENDMENT

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Disagree

I would be open to a conversation for those same teachers to posses a firearm in a locked classroom safe, only to be opened on a code red (active shooter).

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?

Religious exemptions should always be honored.

I support mask mandates.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support mandates of any kind.
