RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
In the Declaration of Independence we unequivocally state that all members of the human race have a right to live. Is not an abortion the act of denying an individual their right to live? If so, then I just don't understand how anyone can justify ending the life of an innocent child.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
As a safeguard for protecting life, Planned Parenthood should not receive federal, state, or local funds. Instead, the individual requesting an abortion should have to pay for the service.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Taxes that were billed as having an end date, but have continued after that date should be eliminated.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would reduce the massive amounts of spending on so-called "green energy". We spend more on trying to force wind and solar energy on our state then we do on things that actually matter.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The United States Constitution Amendment 1 states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." As we can see, the government has no right prohibiting your right to exercise your religion. This includes closing down churches; the government has no power to do so.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Tax-payer funded health care should be reduced and regulations lifted. This will do two things; first, it will create competition which will lower costs. Second, increase the amount of options an individual has to obtain the care that is needed. The problem with our current system is that there is too much government in it.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
No government, school, or employer should be allowed to require any sort of vaccination.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The United States should continue the work led by President Trump in creating treaties and establishing peace in the Middle East.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who will respect the laws of this country.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior. I believe that all men and women are accountable to God for their decisions in this life. I believe that all men are created in the image of God. I believe that every man, woman, and child has a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe that God has given us all the opportunity to follow him. It matters not to me what church you belong to or what religion you practice. What maters to me is that you believe in God and do your best to be the best person you can.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I would re-institute voting in person and no votes can be counted after election day.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I don't believe that racism is as big of a threat as the media and some politicians would like us to believe. It seems to me that the people that want us to believe that racism is "the biggest threat to the country that we have ever seen", are the ones that promote such things as Critical Race Theory (CRT). Which teaches our children to see everything through the prism of race and that as an individual you are essentially racist. So, the people who are crying racism are teaching racism. That sounds like some people just can't follow what Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for; that people should "not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Environmental laws and regulations hinder the growth of Washington State and prevent us from flourishing. During a time when gasoline costs more than $4.00 Jay Inslee passes more regulations that will increase the cost of gasoline. I think Jay Inslee has been too over zealous and has relied too much on inefficient and insufficient means of producing energy. If we want to increase energy production nuclear is the way to go.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
I believe that safeguarding the liberties of the people is the general purpose of government. A government founded on sound principles and virtue will be a government of laws and not of men.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
My views come from my studies. I have read, and I am currently reading, the works of our founding fathers and the philosophers that they looked to when creating our great nation.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No, I have not.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My priority is to increase the freedom of all the citizens of Washington State.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Less restrictions are needed on the ownership of firearms.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
