QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

It is possible to create a culture that values and protects all human life-regardless of age, stage of development, or circumstances by addressing the root causes of abortion and supporting women in crisis situations.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Agree

Advocating for in-person consultations with medical professionals and reporting requirements helps to protect the health and well-being of women while also promoting transparency and accountability in the adminstration of chemical abortions.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

Public money should not support organizations that provide services that are considered objectionable by a significant portion of the population.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system that promotes individual freedom, economic growth, innovation, and opportunity. These are foundational to creating a dynamic and prosperous society that values entrepreneurship, competition, and the protection of individual rights.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Setting or increasing a mandated mimimum wage too often has negative consequences for businesses. Businesses should have the freedom to determine wages based on market conditions, skills, productivity, and the value of the work being performed.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The United States Constitution, per the Free Exercise Clause protects individuals’ rights to practice their faith freely without government interference. This includes but is not limited to, the right to worship and express one’s religious convictions without government overreach. Religious liberty is a fundamental right that is intregal to individual autonomy and conscience and therefore churches should not be closed by the government.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

The fostering of a diverse marketplace where individuals and businesses can operate in accordance with their values and beliefs upholds both individual liberty and free enterprise. Providing services that go against a businesses’ moral or religious convictions undermines this and infringes on religious freedom.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Free-market based solutions over government-run programs would create competition, drive innovation, lower costs and improve quality in healcare services.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

When it comes to schools, parents should have the primary authority to make medical decisions for their children.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, it is a combination of importance…this includes but is not limited to religious, historical, political and culture reasons.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Allowing education dollars to follow a child promotes a more equitable education system. By giving parents the choice to select the school that best meets their child’s needs, regardless of their zip code or income level, students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to access a quality education that prepares them for success. Competition among schools, including public, private and homeschool options can drive innovation, improve quality and increase efficiency.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Limited government in family matters is essential to preserving the integrity of the family unit.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

This is an example of government over-reach. Government should not be involved in defining marriage.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

God fearing-Christian.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

The electoral college serves as a critical component of the American system of governance, providing for representation, protecting minority interests, upholding federalism and promoting national unity. Preservation of the electoral college is essential to maintain a balanced and representative electoral process that reflects the values and principles of the United States.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Did not answer

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Policies that advocate and prioritize fairness, privacy, safety and the recognition of biological sex are essential.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Regulations should be evaluated based on their effectiveness in achieving environmental goals, as well as their potential impact on jobs, industries and the overall economy. There lies a balance in promoting sustainable practices, protecting natural resources and fostering economic growth.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Committed to supporting market-based approaches, such as tax incentives and deregulations to encourage the growth of renewable energy industries. For our state, hydro is the most reliable energy source.
