RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only in cases were the continuation of the pregnancy poses a threat life and it it necessary to save the mothers life. Other than that I don't see that there is any allowance for the taking of a life. I believe that life begins at conception.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Using taxpayer funds to pay for immoral activities is wrong. The Constitution is clear on what powers government has and collecting funds to pay for the murder of the unborn is not provided for.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Assisting anyone in suicide is providing material support in a self murder.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Taxes are considered theft in my opinion. Duties from tariffs, trade, should be the primary source of income for governments. Public Land Use Fees, Registration Fees, and perhaps a small sales tax should be more than enough to cover a small and limited government.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I seek a constitutional audit to ensure that existing laws fall in line with the Federal and State Constitutions. Any that have the appearance of conflict I would work to suspend the regulation and or agency until it is brought in line with the Constitution. We have far too many wasteful programs and agencies. I would work to repeal the administrative code that allows unelected bureaucrats to interpret the law as they wish.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayer funded public schools has been a complete failure on multiple fronts, extending this to the indoctrination centers in colleges and universities would promote more useless degrees. We need to completely revamp our education system and fully fund students in k-12 and not failing buildings. Taxpayer money allotted for the education of a child should follow that child in home school, private school, charter school, co-op schools, or public schools depending on parents choice.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
A persons should never be forced to violate their religious convictions.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. To do so would suggest that government has authority over God. This is not the case. All of our unalienable rights come directly from our Divine Creator and we the people allot a portion of our personal authority to public servants who represent us in government. A government of the people, by the people, and for the people means that the only authority that our government can possess are those that we grant. If we don't have the authority to tell our neighbors to stay home, wear what we want them to wear, don't go to church, and to stick a needle in their arm then it is an impossibility for government to usurp that power. Government has no more authority than you do
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
D) Over the past few years I have come to understand that the big pharma carousel ride has killed plenty of people along the way to helping them. Administrators with no medical knowledge set policies that put profits before the well-being of the patients. People are better off going back to holistic services that are just as effective and more affordable. Something funded by a taxpayer means that they take your money to pay for something that somebody can't or won't pay for. This is a form of robbery. Everyone must bear their own personal responsibility through this life.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. A person has sovereignty over their own body and should never be subject to state sponsored medically rape.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Stick to what our Founding Fathers said. Avoid foreign entanglements. Bring all the troops home and provide a strong defense on the homefront. Ensure that every citizen has access to firearms training and affordable firearms and ammunition and build a safe place on the home front by fostering the most well armed populace in history. Become the Porcupine and stop going into other peoples yards to pick a fight.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
It is not for us to intervene in the disputes of others. Israel was attacked, it defended itself, conquered part of the aggressor territories, and has historic claims to the area. We need to focus on dealing with our own government corruption and problems with our southern border.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
We need a barrier that rivals the Great Wall in China. It should be the most effective deterrent in modern history. We should not stop there we need to secure our Northern Border as well especially since Russia and China have expanded and reinforced their Arctic units in recent years. We are wide open on the Northern Frontier.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We should use the same immigration standards that our ancestors came to America under. Those who want to acclimate and become Americans should go through an orderly process that ensures that liberty minded individuals are selected. Nobody should be allowed to skip ahead in the line by illegal entry. Everyone who is here illegally should not be allowed to obtain legal status until they depart and return in a legal manner.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
This is absolutely a priority platform issue with me. In Washington State the average per student funding is $18,175. That money needs to be assigned to the student and follow the student whether they are in home school, private school, co-operative school, charter, or public school. There are many families that would be able to provide a world class education for their children or meet their children's special needs if taxpayer dollars were placed under the stewardship of parents.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
The first book our government printed was the Bible and it was for distribution to schools. The purpose of this was to enshrine Biblical values as the backbone of our government. The National Monument to the Forefathers in Plymouth, Massachusetts has a Matrix of Liberty that goes over this very principle.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Gender is based on genetic Chromosomes and cannot be chosen. We need to teach people to accept reality instead of live in a land of fantasy.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I don't think government should be in the marriage business. It should strictly be a faith based thing. Marriage is a unity in the eyes of God. It was never meant for government to define it.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Critical Race Theory is Marxist hate ideology designed to strip away the individuality and liberties of our children. We must resist it, outlaw it, and criminalize it.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe that everyone should be free to find their spirituality in their own way and come to their own personal relationship with our Divine Creator and what he reveals unto us through prayer, fasting, and scripture. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I don't believe in legislating morality but I believe in protecting people who choose to live a moral life. Everyone must have the liberty to live their own lives and come freely to our Creator. Government should be limited to only preserving the liberties of the people, and for the collective defense of the people. People are free to live their lives within the boundaries of their unalienable rights so long as they do not infringe upon the rights of others. Everyone is personally responsible for their own family and not obligated to impart their own funds to pay for the welfare of others. Charity must be voluntary and encouraged to tackle local community problems. God has more solutions than we could ever come up with. We owe it to ourselves to take our daily challenges directly to the Lord and seek clarity in all cases. Our Founding Fathers and the politicians in our nations formative years had days of fasting and humiliation. The humiliation part was where people admitted their faults and publicly committed to do better. Those are the values that I hope to bring back if the good people in Washington's 7th Legislative District Vote for me Lonny Ray Williams. I will truly represent the people and be the real leader that they have been pleading for. I will set a high bar for transparency and accountability and will take each decision to the people who are entitled to decide for themselves whether their representatives vote yay or nay.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Voting is one of the most important things we do. It is more important than driving, buying a firearm, or purchasing alcohol or tobacco and yet we require id for those. Voting should be done in person with valid ID to participate.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I want to bring back in person voting as an option while we clean up the voter roles. We need to verify every registered voter and ensure that they are at the correct address. I would authorize a voter census to ensure that roles are accurate. I would role back mail in voting to military, students, and other limited capacities. Voting needs to be stripped from the control of the parties and placed in the hands of the people. We need to elect nonpartisan fair minded individuals who have a track record of honesty, integrity, and transparency to ensure that each citizen receives the opportunity to cast their ballot in a free and fair election system with checks and balances.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is being promoted by the establishment to divide the country. Critical race theory is a Marxist farce designed to establish racism at an early age. In that way the extremists that are trying to re-establish racism in our Nation are doing so to subjugate the populace.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Every race has been the victim of slavery throughout time. This is nonsense and a way to propagate racism.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) I believe in being good stewards with all that is given to us but there is no Constitutional authority given for the Federal Government to regulate our environment. Many of the existing Federal agencies are operating without proper constitutional authority to exist.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Neutral
In Most places I am all for it when it can be done with good stewardship in mind. Geologically there are fault conditions that need to be taken into consideration and Environmentally there are drinking water aquifers that need to be protected. As a general rule I am all for it to bring back our energy independence.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect the unalienable rights of the people, to provide for the common security of the people, and to ensure that citizens don't violate other peoples rights. Other than that our Founding Fathers were quite clear that liberty is the most precious principle in a Constitutional Republic like ours. We have gone way overboard with government and hand outs and need to roll it back to the strict confines of our Federal and State Constitutions. The administrative code violates the intention of our original state of government and we need to repeal the ability of non-elected bureaucrats to enact regulation upon the people.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I am a Constitutional Conservative that believes that we the people need to take their authority back from bureaucrats that don't represent them. I believe that faith should be a primary consideration in those that lead us as I know that the Lord has far better solutions than I can ever come up with. I don't believe in legislating my faith or morality on others but believe in enacting safeguards to protect those who choose to live a life of faith and moral value.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I have been publishing a monthly periodical called The Pamphlet for over two years under the pen name Wade John Taylor. My writings, podcast, and local activism are known to those who have seen me at town halls and rally's. We believe we vote did a thorough interview and screening available here: https://voterguide.webelievewevote.com/candidate_profile/?id=288 Right Spokane Perspective: https://rightspokaneperspective.podbean.com/e/candidate-feature-friday-with-lonny-ray-williams-7th-ld-state-rep/ And of course the free Library that I have created at www.ThePamphlet.net
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am a family man, homesteader, and US Army Veteran who served honorably in the Presidential Honor Guard. I take my oath to support and defend the Constitution seriously. I have served my country in one form or another throughout my life and would be honored to have your vote. I will not stop fighting until parents have the right to raise their families in their own faith in their own way, free from government intervention. I will ensure that parents are the custodians of funding allotted for their children's education whether it be in home, private, charter, co-op, or public education environments. We are in the greatest food and inflation crisis on our lifetimes and most government officials don't have a clue what it is going to take to get us through this. I will be the champion in the community bringing the resources of the district together to tackle our own problems through cooperation, mutual respect, and neighborly love. I will continue to encourage people to grow their own food in whatever capacity they can and contribute to local food production. I will bring back victory gardens and loosen the strings on agricultural processing to promote local self sufficiency and cottage industries. I will fight for the lives and rights of every child, born and unborn while encouraging parents to take back the mantle of education to create the greatest generation our country has ever seen. We are going through trying times and they are going to get far worse before it gets better. You need someone who actually cares about you and will listen to your needs. You have that someone in me, Lonny Ray Williams, when you vote for me in November. Thank you for this opportunity to be your public servant. God bless.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
Department Policy must be Constitutional and protect individual rights in order for it to be a valid policy. Peace Officers upholding the law and operating under departmental policy should have protections afforded them.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Law enforcement is already having funding challenges. The chains need to be taken off of faith based organizations so that they can take a more active role in supporting community programs that foster improved mental health of the community. Faith based crisis centers should be allowed and encouraged to take the lead on providing compassionate service to those in need.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Manufactures of any tool should never be held liable to the judgement of those who use their tools. We don't hold carmakers accountable when someone drinks too much and smashes their car into a telephone pole, it simply does not make sense.
