QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Never, Life is too precious.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Taxpayers should never be required to use their tax dollars to fund what goes against their conscience & is morally wrong.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Healthcare providers take a Oath to do no harm & protect life, not to choose when to end it.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Having a record "Surplus" of $9.3 Billion--over taxing in Minnesota, I believe Legislators that do not know how to do a Budget should be required to take Budgeting 101 before they can Vote on Taxing Constituents. A "Surplus" of $9.3 Billion & not returning it to those who overpaid, tells us Legislators do not know how accounting works. As a Business Owner, if a Customer gives me $20 for a $15 product-I am obligated to give their change back. Tax Codes do need to be reviewed so $9.3 Billion "Surpluses" do not become the norm in Minnesota.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
To look for redundant services at the Mn State level would be a good start. Consolidating and streamlining services, along with with the auditing of government agencies transparency with the public would build trust. With a "surplus" (like our $9.3 Billion) new temporary agencies appear-which have a tendency to never sunset, these services need to be audited on their efficiency . Simply auditing & reviewing at all levels would reduce waste, you cannot correct a budgeting problem without auditing government agencies/services first and seeing where the money is used.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
College is a choice, there are many opportunities for help receiving a degree, if that is what is desired. I personally took out a loan to pay for mine, received a grant, and worked 2 jobs to go through the Higher Education years. My Wife, also did the same with her schooling. Many High Schools are teaching Career trades which are preparing Students for the Workforce vs College. Kudo's to those High Schools for preparing our youth for the workforce.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No Business or Individual should be forced, coerced or mandated to provide services that violate moral/religious beliefs. This standard needs to be across the board & not based off equity standards.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. The "separation of Church & State" was to protect the Church from the State. It still needs to be protected as we have seen in the last 2 years.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Whenever the government gets involved in anything it becomes inefficient. C is the closest thing I believe in, we need to help people who need it. With the rising cost of Healthcare we have to find ways to reduce that cost & make healthcare affordable again. We were told a few years ago how affordable healthcare would be under Obamacare & all the savings we would see. Hasn't happened yet.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
It takes many, many years for a vaccination to be tried & true. We have vaccinations that fit the tried & true bill after years of testing. Public school Students receive vaccinations at different ages for health reasons-some are good and some are not necessary. The recent mandated Covid vaccines do not fit the tried & true category, we may not know the side effects for years. This was the main reason people did not want the jab. There should always be a moral/religious exemption for those that choose not to vaccinate. As a parent there were vaccines we let our Children have & ones we did not, based on research we did on each individual vaccine .
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Number one is to recognize that Sharia Law & Constitutional Law are 2 ways of Governing people. But are not compatible. We look at Sharia Law through western eyes and compare it to what we know. To understand the threat, you must understand why they do what they do under Sharia. Foreign Laws should NEVER be used or implemented on US soil.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
Israel is a Sovereign Nation & has the right to exist. And has the right to govern itself without interference from groups who want to destabilize their region.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Good fences makes good neighbors. That is a tried & true saying, we must know who is coming in-having a good fence with a good "door" helps. It is a security issue. We put fences & camera's around our properties, but not our Nation? That makes no sense to not protect the American Citizen by putting up something as basic as a wall.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone who comes here legally & goes through the proper channels. I remember when the narrative went from Illegal to undocumented-2 different words, one sounds more palatable. We say we are a Nation of Laws, it is there where Illegal & legal mean something.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Competition is good & helps raise the bar a little higher with each style of school-even public schools. After the last 2 years of Schools being shut down, parents realize & know they can teach their children remotely if needed. Choice is a good thing when it comes to children's education & choice is a parents duty to their child.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I love teaching Sunday School. One thing I teach is the "Preamble" to each States Constitutions. It shows our Roots as Christians. Our Founders knew we needed a frame around our Government. Governments purpose was to serve the public, not rule it.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
When we create special classes we are enshrining racism, to say one class is more protected than another does this. Either we are all protected by our Laws equally, or some have more & some have less. I do not believe division is good in a society where we are called the great melting pot.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
God created Adam & Eve, if it was Adam & Steve it would have been a really short Book. Christian people celebrate Christmas, Jewish people Hanukkah, Muslim people Ramadan, Black people wanted a Holiday that honored their history & came up with Kwanza. Kwanza does not affect Christmas, Hanukkah, or Ramadan. As a White man I do not fit in Kwanza--I will never understand why a "Kwanza" was not or is not used for homosexual unions. It could be their own & special, like a "Kwanza" .just for them.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
We are all American Privileged due to American Exceptionalism. CRT/Equity promotes being a victim, American Exceptionalism promotes a place where even a Black man can be & and has been President. I love this Country where anyone, any color, any creed can work hard & become President of America.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Follower of Jesus Christ. Love to talk about Him anywhere & anytime. I believe the Bible from Genesis to Revelations, knowing there will be a day I stand or fall before Him. It is humbling to know how much the Father God, the Holy Spirit & Jesus loves us, is almost beyond belief.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
In Minneapolis & St Paul last year to eat in a restaurant you needed 2 forms of ID. A Vaccine Card & a ID to prove it was you with your current Vaccine Status. How ridiculous to get a hamburger you needed 2 forms, but no ID is required for a secure election?
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Voter Roles need to be constantly updated & an ID to vote. Absolutely no Ballot Boxes, precincts need to be open for ALL elections. Eliminate mail in balloting, as we already have a "No Excuse" Absentee Ballot system in Minnesota.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I remember Obama being inaugurated as President, was a proud day in American History. It proved how non-racist we are as a Nation. Where anyone can be anything they desire-even President. It was a proud day in my American History as well. Even though I did not agree with or like any of his policies, it was still a proud American Day. We need to promote American Exceptionalism. People are still flooding our boarders from all Nations to be part of the American Dream. We are not victims, we are Americans --where any color & any creed can dream big & become anything --even President.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
A hand up & a hand out are not the same thing. I remember learning about the Irish slaves that were sold, right here in the US- they had to be branded as they looked like everyone else. Should their great grandchildren get back pay for ancestors being branded Irish? Injustices happened around the world & in America, but we cannot change any history with money. As a Nation we do need to step in to help where & when it is needed. Like where slavery is actually happening right now in the world.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Common Sense idea's, we are to be good stewards over what we have. To utilize innovative ways to do both. Creating/save jobs & protecting what we have, yet we know overregulating kills jobs & innovations. "A" is close to what I believe, but there is more to it than a blanket statement.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
One of the innovative things done that created jobs & utilizes technology we have while protecting the environment around us. Ingenuity is like looking forward, and it is what will change our world.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To serve & protect the public through checks & balances.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Christian Conservative wasn't a choice=:)
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
My personal FB page/years of letters to the Editor in the surrounding newspapers/anyone who knows me-Republican, Independent or Democrat.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
None
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Have a awesome Wife who stands with me, 3 Children who do the same. 8 Sisters & 5 Brothers, supporting me as well. I have never been quiet about what I believe & will bring that same voice to the Capital for you. Silence for me is not a option. After the last few years I have become a firm believer in Term Limits, Governor & President get 8 years-why not every other position? If you knew there is only a term of 8 years to make your mark, you absolutely would make one. I will work for & with you at the Capital As a Repairman, I know there are many tools to work with. But the best tool, is the right one needed for getting the job done. Being your Voice at the Capital to bring positive & effective change in Minnesota is my goal.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
If a policy is wrong-change it. I support & honor our Police--We should never strip away honor, defund or dismantle -we support our Police. The situations they find themselves in many times have split second decisions that need to be made. It is always easy to look back & see what should have been done vs being in that moment, with limited information at their disposal. Department policies like any policies, are there for protection & direction.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
There are numerous programs designed for mental health & community programs already, which need more funding. To create redundant agencies would be wasteful as well as unnecessary. We need these already existing services to link into & aid the Police in doing their jobs. Police Departments need more funding to ensure they have all the tools needed to do their job of protecting & serving our communities.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
There are many laws already on the books enforcing public safety concerning gun ownership. The focus needs to be more on personal responsibility & harsher sentences for criminals. Criminals absolutely need harsher punishments. I know this is a multi facetted issue, but remember- criminals do not abide by restrictions or laws. Only law abiding people abide by them.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
In the last 2 weeks I have heard of multiple instances where a car was used to kill many people by running through groups of innocent people. Should we put restrictions on law abiding car owners or the manufacturers? Criminals need harsher punishment. I have many guns that have never hurt anyone. By themselves they are no threat. The quickest thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. A gun by itself does not have life or knows good or evil-someone chooses it.
