QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am strongly pro-life. In Kansas, our present focus must be on passing Value Them Both, due to the 2019 Kansas Supreme Court decision which could lead to no restrictions in Kansas at all. When it is adopted, we will debate further legislation, such as those that have passed in other states.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
As a homeowner, small business owner, husband, and father, I understand the burden of high taxes. In fact, one of the reasons I got involved was in opposition to a proposed 2019 property tax increase by my local government. The legislature wisely eliminated the sales tax on food and reduced property taxes, and I would like to see them do more in the upcoming sessions. Kansas ranks towards the back of the pack in terms of economic competitiveness, and reducing the tax burden on our families, seniors, and businesses must be at the top of our to-do list. Enabling small business start ups with a low tax burden only bolsters a states tax base and improves all citizens standards of living.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I believe in zero-based budgeting, which means taking a fresh look at every program rather than simply approving the increase automatically without further scrutiny. This approach will ensure our state budget remains balanced and government spending is in check.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
A Bernie Sanders approach of making college free for all would not be fiscally responsible, nor appropriate.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. This year, there was a bi-partisan effort to ensure a governor can never close a church, and I would have supported that bill.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Medicaid and Medicare certainly should be available, but I oppose government run health care, Medicare for All, etc. As a small business owner, government-directed solutions only add costs to our businesses and provide us few options. A much better approach is opening up the free market, such as through the expanded use of Health Savings Accounts, to give businesses and consumers more options.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am opposed to any COVID-19 vaccine mandates, and was supportive of the action taken in the Special Session to protect the liberty of Kansans.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
This is a federal matter, but states can do their part by ensuring we do not pursue policies like sanctuary cities that undermine the rule of law and make it harder for law enforcement to do its job. States can also assist by providing funding and additional recruiting tools for their Army and Air National Guard.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I stand with our ally, Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I support legal immigration and believe our system should be easy to understand and effectively enforced.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Agree
Parents around the country are becoming more invested in their children’s education and school choice is part of making that happen. Kansas has taken some steps to give our students more opportunities and I support efforts to do more as no child should be trapped in a failing school simply based on income or geography.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a devout Roman Catholic.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I strongly support the actions the legislature has taken to secure our elections, such as restricting ballot harvesting, banning Zuckerbucks, and the like.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I am thankful to have been born and raised in Kansas, which has an indisputable history of rejecting racism. Unfortunately, the left has hijacked the term and currently uses it as a weapon to attack anyone who disagrees with them.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A – I support a clean environment, as do most Kansans, and common sense laws to protect it. However, we should all oppose the Green New Deal and similar policies which are rooted in an extreme agenda, the consequences of which we are paying for with $5/gal. gasoline.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The purpose is expressed in the preamble to the Constitution... I am a constitutional conservative, and every vote I take will be reflective of that point of view.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My priorities are simple and straight-forward: Fight Inflation by Supporting Families and Businesses I know first-hand the challenges businesses have faced the last two years. The answer is not more deficit spending that grows government and bankrupts our future. Instead, we need economic and tax policies that uplift our families and businesses and promote economic prosperity. Stand Strong for Our Constitutional Freedoms The first responsibility of government is to preserve our constitutional rights, including freedom of speech, the right to worship, and the 2nd Amendment. We must fight one-size-fits-all mandates, vaccine passports, and other restrictions while fiercely resisting overreach from the Biden administration. Empower Parents and Focus on Students For our students to succeed in school, parents must be involved. That includes the right to review curriculum and know our kids are on the right path academically. Funding must be focused on the classroom, where it belongs.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly support law enforcement.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and Kansans are, as well. Further restrictions on our rights is not the answer and in fact could exacerbate the problem by creating gun-free zones which put the public at risk.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
