QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
When the life of the mother is in question, such as an ectopic pregnancy. That is a self defense issue.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I believe that in a totally free society, there will be no need for minimum wage. People will go from the lowest paying job to a better paying job because there will always be another company who will pay a good employee a good wage.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
iVoterGuide Notes:
After the deadline, candidate indicated he wished to clarify his response with the following statement:
"I would support or initiate a bill allowing investors to opt out of ESG supported companies."
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I can't think of any circumstances.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. We who are retired have paid our entire working lives for Social Security and Medicare. Also, medical care is expensive because of government requirements. It can be less expensive if the government gets out of the medical business. That's what happened with computers under the (almost) free enterprise system. Better computers for the same or less money.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccines might be advisable, but should not be required, ever. If vaccines work, the ones taking the vaccine is safe from that particular disease or malady. If the vaccines do not work, they might instead be toxic. Let people make their own decisions
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. The historically Christian part of the US has its ties with Judaism because Judaism is its mother religion. But whether we believe that or not, Israel is the only democratic nation in that area. We need them. They need us.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Simple. We have doors on our house to secure the boundaries of our home. We need exactly the same for the boundaries of our country. Besides, Americans should decide who enters our borders, not the UN or any other nation. The UN is financing our open borders.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Exactly. The parents should direct our local education, not the teachers or Teacher's Union, or the federal government.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I believe the Bible is God breathed. I don't always understand it. I don't always understand how it applies to unbelievers. But I do believe, as did our nation's founders, in Ancient Principles. The Bible gives the basic principles of success.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
Such a compact is directly against the US Constitution. If the National Popular Vote were in effect, the different states would not be represented.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I believe we could rid our country of racism in less than one generation by simply believing that there is only one race, the human race.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT is itself racist against white people.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Gender fluidity is based on the premise that there is something wrong with being male or female. There isn't.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
None of the above. True environmentalism is often LESS expensive. I believe I have the best solution for our environment and high gas prices. Make all cars sold in Michigan required to be flex-fueled. Details are given by rocket scientist Robert Zubrin in his book Energy Victory. If we followed this advice Michigan would forever be independent of OPEC or federal energy policies. Gas prices would always be low because of bio-fuel competition.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear. Then perhaps production of energy from wave movement generators from our Great Lakes. Wind and solar are unpredictable and costly.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect the rights of its citizens. To free us up to be creative.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I am an economic and social conservative. Unless a business is harming its employees or its products harming its buyers, I see little reason for the government to step in. I am a Christian, but that does not make me want a theocracy in our country. It makes me sensitive to the government interfering in our religious liberties. Certification of truth and freedom come from Biblical "Ancient Principles".
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No restrictions. Restrictions only apply to law abiding citizens. Have you noticed? Mass shootings only happen where there is a gun-free zone.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Allowed, encouraged, and trained. Teachers would need training because in a mass shooting, there is a lot of movement and a lot of variables.
