OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Strongly Disagree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Disagree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

Agree

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should only be allowed when the mother's life is threatened.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

It was because the church in Europe was oppressive, causing wars and making the pope authority supreme. They also were against advances in science, technology, etc.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I strongly believe in God Almighty, the One God who created Heavens and Earth and all between - the same God who sent prophets and messengers since Adam and the last was Prophet Muhammad, with many others in between, including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Jesus (peace be upon them all). My guidance is the Holy Qur'an and the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Among those impressive verses in the Holy Qur'an which I follow, as Almighty God - Allah (Elohim, Yahweh) is talking, is Chapter 49, Verse 13, "Oh mankind, We (God) created you from a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes so that you might come to know each other. The most honorable of you in the Eyes of God is the most righteous. God is all-knowing, all-aware." and Chapter 16, Verse 125, "(Oh Prophet!) Call the people to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly and kind exhortation, and argue with them in the most pleasant and best manner".

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Moderate

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I have been living in the U.S. for over 40 years, and in Washington State for 34 years. As a physician, my ethics come not only from my medical training, but also from my faith and background. I treat people equally with respect, regardless of their faith, culture, upbringing, etc. This is very much demonstrated in my relationships with people who are not of my faith. I have personal friends who are Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Sikhs, non-believers at all, etc. I deeply respect and consider human beings as brothers and sisters, though I may differ as far as religious interpretation.

Additional comment from candidate:

I have been a U.S. citizen since I stood before a Federal Judge swearing in my Oath of Allegiance in Bismarck, ND in 1981 when I was practicing medicine. My first action was exercising my First Amendment right, sending a telegram to Secretary of State Alexander Haig, protesting extradition of a young Palestinian activist from the U.S. to Israel. I felt he would not get a fair trial. Our Constitution is the greatest thing we have in this country. The American people are great people. The U.S. is a beautiful country, large enough to accommodate all of Europe -with the exception of Russia- in Texas. The opportunities we have in this country to raise a family and start a business is the best in the world. Our greatest drawback is the political system and the elections, which had degenerated so that special interest groups are influencing foreign policy to wage war, not being in the national interest. Business promotes peace. Al Qaeda and ISIL were born through our military intervention.
