QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

Funding should prioritize essential health services, ensuring taxpayer money is used to reflect the citizens' values.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Medical safety standards are essential to ensure consistent, high-quality care across all healthcare settings. They protect patient safety, promote effective treatments, reduce medical errors, and maintain public trust in the healthcare system.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

These decisions are highly personal decisions with various factors for consideration, it should be made between the parents and their medical professional team.

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

I concur with the Supreme Court; federal legislation is unconstitutional and is the jurisdiction of the individual states.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government does not interfere with or favor a particular religion over another.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. We should stand with our allies.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The U.S.-Israel relationship is multifaceted and grounded in shared strategic interests tied to regional influence and stability.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

The decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention in 2024 is driven by a complex interplay of demographic trends, economic conditions, societal attitudes, health and fitness challenges, educational priorities, organizational practices, and policy issues.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Medical treatments such as vaccinations should be voluntary. When the citizenry trust the healthcare system and the recommendations of their medical team, mandates would not be required.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. State and local jurisdictions should have the option of providing these choices based on the needs and approval of their voters.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

First and foremost, let's explore the opportunity for tax cuts in tandem with tax credits, deductions, and crucial investments in education and job training.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Agree

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

I would like to see the investment of public monies through a balanced approach that maximizes returns while ensuring safety and addressing public needs.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The U.S. should allow immigration for individuals who contribute to the nation's economic, social, and cultural vitality. This includes skilled workers in high-demand industries, refugees fleeing persecution, family members of current residents, and those with a proven ability to integrate and contribute to society. This approach to immigration fosters innovation, addresses labor shortages, and upholds the country's value of opportunity and refuge.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Disagree

Eliminating the U.S. Department of Education could reduce funding and resources for education, increase disparities, inconsistent standards, and potential setbacks in academic innovation and access. The broader social and economic implications could include a less competitive workforce and reduced social mobility.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms; however, the Supreme Court has upheld that reasonable regulations are permissible, such as background checks and restrictions on felons and individuals with mental illness. I concur with these restrictions.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The government's general purpose is to maintain order, protect citizens' rights and freedoms, provide public services, ensure national security, and promote the general welfare. It establishes laws, enforces regulations, and creates policies to foster a stable, just, and prosperous society for all its members.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No I haven't.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No I haven't.

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

Only a civil government can define a standard of what constitutes a marriage for a nation or society. The definition of marriage as a lifelong faithful union between one man and one woman, as found in the Bible, pertains to those who believe and have faith in that moral standard. While the U.S. was founded on Christian beliefs, freedom of religion, provides for various viewpoints on this topic.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have been a Christian since my early teen years. My spiritual beliefs and values are rooted in the teachings of the Bible and the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. My core beliefs and values are love, faith, hope, forgiveness, humility, service, integrity, peace, justice, and the sanctity of life.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Identification is required to maintain the integrity of our election process and ensure that only eligible Americans vote

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

The electoral college system is designed to balance power between states of varying sizes. Abolishing the system could shift towards a more centralized federal system, reducing the power and influence of individual states

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

Addressing man-made climate change requires a multifaceted approach, reducing emissions across various sectors, promoting sustainable land use practices, and advancing renewable energy technologies. Farmers and hunters are great stewards of this land, along with the open marketplace that drives innovation to address the challenges of climate change.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

A combination of nuclear power and renewable energy is the most reliable source for meeting the growing demand for electricity. In the 8th CD, hydropower is a renewable and affordable source that meets the community's needs.
