Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When requested by the patient.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Tax breaks for senior property taxes need to be greatly expanded. Gas taxes need to be charged per cent, not per gallon. Business taxes need to pay for infrastructure. Impact fee loopholes need to be eliminated and fees need to be charged upfront on mass developers. Tax and rebate systems need to be reevaluated and eliminated to create a more progressive tax code.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The “rainy day” growth plan is just an excuse to raise needless taxation before we are ready. Police and Fire equipment allocations have been aggressive for years, we could certainly cut back on state grants to small cities for more equipment that they cannot even utilize because they cannot afford the extra staff. We can make small changes to the rates of fund matching and let capitalism tell us which trivial projects are not really necessary yet. We can slow down road construction and maintenance by 5-8%. I am committed to balancing the school spending ratio at all costs, and I expect that in a Democrat controlled state legislature they will raise taxes more than we cut spending.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

It is guaranteed in the state constitution that if we are going to be taxed, it shall at least provide for education, and we currently pay plenty of taxes and have plenty of money to pay for educational efforts through college and career, even into retirement, with schools, museums, libraries, and science and trades centers.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Individuals and businesses should operate under completely separate rules. Businesses should be required to provide their services to everyone or no one, so if for any moral or religious reason they cannot accommodate everyone, then they cannot be allowed to serve anyone. If you want to run the town print shop, you have to make the banners for all of the town’s permitted festivals, even the ones that you personally disagree with. We aren’t a functioning society if businesses won’t be for all.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

When they operate as an unlawful business. For example, churches being used as houses of ill-repute or dens of inequity.


HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with additional Healthcare insurance funded by the government available for all who want it, along with addition private healthcare options. Basically, anything that would warrant a level 2 or higher severity in an ER triage would be 100% covered, no questions asked, while the least severe cases and most scheduled necessary services would fall under a wide variety of government supplemental insurance and then private healthcare would stil be encouraged to cover everything else.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Only voluntary military service members should be strictly required to be vaccinated. Schools and employers can encourage and even reward vaccination status, but a strict requirement would be unlawful under the Americans with Disabilities Act.


NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Hang up a banner that says “Mission Accomplished” and then move on to the six other sources of terrorism that have been ignored for too long.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

In brief, I support sanctions against foreign occupiers, and I believe that Israel has to significantly de-escalate the situation unilaterally before bilateral progress can be made.


IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Anything except a physical wall. The primary issues are with cargo, equipment, and narcotics coming on roads. Building a wall while our ports and pass-ways are neglected doesn’t make any sense.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Everyone, provided they can pass the naturalization testing and requirements. Then the rest can still immigrate under strict State Department waivers for refugees and asylum seekers. Finally the foreign citizens of the US armed forces and H-1B skilled workers upon completion of their career of service.


EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

These programs do not work for rural or disadvantaged communities and should be instituted at the local level, not the State level that I am running to represent.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Everything about this question is deeply flawed. “I agree with CRT” is like saying “I agree with geometry.” CRT doesn’t assert anything, it is a tool. The purpose of CRT is to measure how racist the institutions are compared to each other on a scale, not to ascertain a dualistic classification of “racist” or “not racist”. I can’t even tell if the question is if “I agree with CRT” despite the poorly described assertion or; is it asking if I agree with the assertion, despite it not being CRT?

My spiritual beliefs are between me and god and not an issue for my candidacy for a role in a secular government. Thank you.


ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

We do not need everyone to have a photo identification all of the time. The voting process should be efficient enough to allow people to cast their ballots with a minimum amount of intrusion. My voter ID card should be sufficient, and it does not have a photo.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would like to see an option for open ballot voting. Particularly for our elected officials who will make most of their votes with open ballots in their careers, it doesn’t make sense that we are forced into concealed ballots for general elections.


EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, anything that divides us as a nation is a threat to our security. Racism more than any other element has been the traditional domestic threat in America since 1607.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

The damages that deserve reparations were borne by people of all races. Their descendants are further represented in all races. Reparations should not be denied based on blood quantum.


ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Being ordered to violate the law is not a defense.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Agree

Police departments need these tools to accomplish their mission. We can no longer send our police out into the community without diverse backup and resources.


2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Maintaining the ban on automatic weapons and restricting ownership by criminals.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
