Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I personally do not believe in abortion. However, if a woman decides to have an abortion it should never go past the first trimester. I also think that there should be a longer period of time for a woman to considor the consequences of her actions. I personally experienced being pregnant before I was married in 1971. Maryland did not allow abortions at that time and my boyfriend and I drove to New York for me to have an abortion. During the four hour drive I thought about what I was going to do. I decided to have the baby. I was raised in the Catholic faith, and eventhough abortion was not a hot topic at that time, I concluded that I would regret ending my baby's life. So instead of attending Maryland University and living on campus, I got married and I have never regretted my choice. The states and not the federal government, should administer/regulate this law.

The government, or any other group, or entity, should not control money that it did not earn. There are many individuals that have worked hard and earned enough money to qualify as millionaires with out the government picking and choosing winners and losers.

I would lower the capital gains tax, or possibly eliminate it, to encourage people to sell which in turn would bring tax revenue into the government and bring needed housing for purchase.

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

There is an attack waged on our moral values, and religion fulfills a basic need to be a good person which benefits society. I am not in favor of groups that try to substitute a cult and allege that it is a religion. I do think that churches, buildings that house their leaders, and material goods should be monitored to make sure it is not abused.

They should operate as separate entities. We have a constitution that sets forth an outline of our laws and regulations which defends our country and its values.

Our rights under the Constitution cease when they infringe on others rights. Vaccinations should only be required in extreme situations to stop the spread of disease.

Congress approved the money to finish building the wall between the United States and Mexico. The President does not have the right to interfere. It is an act against his oath of office and Congress needs to intercede and get that wall finished. People from all over the world are violating our country's sovereignty.

Law abiding individuals who are deemed eligable for citizenship. I think you have to pass a test which includes being able to speak and write in english. These candidates for citizenship need to adopt our culture and blend in our great country.

My spiritual beliefs and values were taught to me through my parents. They were my role model and I learned to be considerate of others feelings without compromising those values. As a Catholic those same values were reinforced by the teaching of the Church. Most importantly I learned that there is no substitute to doing the best you can do in everything you attempt. I am thankful for the good things that happen, and mostly for God.

Make sure you are required to carry a photo ID. With the millions of illegal aliens that are still coming into our country, we don't need to sacrifice our right to a safe, legal election.

The people that were slaves are the only people who should be entitled to reparations. Reversely, there were many slaves that were given their freedom when their owners died as evidenced in the will records. Some of them even inherited a piece of land. If reparations comes about does that mean that these families lose their land they inherited.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I think that there are people who dramatize racism in an effort to control and intimidate different groups of people. Our country has passed laws that punish actual racism, not to mention the discord that is cemented when an act is described as racist which by definition is not.

Since my years throughout school I have been elected by my peers to represent them in our student government. I was also an officer, as secretary in 9th grade, and in twelth grade I was elected President of the Frederick Douglass Student Council. In high school I served as Chairman of the Marlow Heights Hecht Company Teen Board; Captain of the Pom Squad and had memberships in many other clubs and groups in school and I graduated with honors, 9th in my class. When I chaired the Marlboro Day Committee we won the award in Prince George's County for Best Recreational Event. Legislatively I am careful about spending tax dollars, education and transportation needs are also a top priority of mine as well.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Other than age requirements and sound mental health I see no needs at this time. There are countless laws on the books that should be used. Schools should not be gun free with all of the shootings that have occurred, instead these students need to be protected from these heinous individuals and not be sitting ducks.
