QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
When the mother's life is in danger, or in instances of rape or incest.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Except in the case of judication where the sentence is the death penalty.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Minimum wage should be determined based on skill and ability. In the event wages are set, it should be done at the state level vs local level, and should be moderate to keep pace with inflation.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
One of the things that makes this country different from so many is the respect for private property rights. We should continue to empower individuals to own resources, innovate, and compete without fear or threats of government interference.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
In the energy regulatory context, we should: 1) Eliminate government mandates that subsidize one generation typer over another. 2) Eliminate government mandates that require specific programs that are no longer necessary or interfere with the free market (for example, repealing the energy efficiency and demand side management mandate which has cost Arizona ratepayers more than $1billion in surcharges since implementation) 3) Streamlining the permitting process for energy infrastructure
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Government should not infringe upon religious freedoms and the ability to freely worship, but rather ensure freedom of religious expression. The First Amendment's Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause guarantee this.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
I support U.S. Supreme Court enacted protections ensuring that private businesses should not or cannot be forced to provide "expressive goods and services"—that are contrary to their beliefs. The First Amendment protects individuals and businesses from providing services that violate their beliefs as this is compelled speech or a violation of their free exercise of religion. The exception to this is government public accommodation services and protected classes under civil rights laws.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. I don't believe it's my responsibility to subsidize healthcare for all. With that said, until tort reforms and other avenues are implemented to slow the exponential growth in healthcare costs, our aging populations need Medicaid and Medicare to supplement their health needs.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
My health and my pre-existing conditions are not the business of the government. It's my and my doctors responsibility and concern.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
This is particularly true in the energy infrastructure context where we should not be reliant on Chinese manufactured equipment and technology to maintain the security and integrity of our grid and water systems.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Absolutely! America's relationship with Israel is not only critical, but it's the cornerstone of our foreign policy in the Middle East. Israel provides regional stability for an area that risks further chaos and collapse, by providing a counterweight to regional bad actors like Hamas and Hezbollah. The Sunni/Shia conflict would likely be greater without Israel. Not only is there a strategic military value, but we have shared ideological, cultural, and religious values.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
The greatest risk of official "sanctuary city" policies and philosophies is that they go beyond meaningful immigration policies and are often exploited by criminal networks that make communities more dangerous.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
I believe local is closest to the people. It should be parents working with their school boards to determine the curriculum. We need to get back to academic basics and get away from the social engineering that has taken hold in our schools. At the very least, the Department of Education needs to be reformed as spending has gotten out of control and has failed to improve student outcomes.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
This is a national security issue. We all know there are no free rides, so what is it the foreign state is wanting in return? Do they want to influence our academics with ideological indoctrination, or gain advantage and steal sensitive research and intellectual property? ASU was right to cancel the Confucius Institute (after intense pressure) from operating on campus. The Institute allowed the university to be used as a pawn in a larger geopolitical strategy and enhance China's "soft power."
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
I do agree, but I know same sex persons who are married and they are good people. I don't believe it's my place to judge, but God's. Personally, I believe government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all. Instead, government should be involved in neutral civil unions, separated from private religious or personal marriage ceremonies. To me, this would further enhance the separation between church and state.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Neutral
I lived in Las Vegas for eight years while in the US Air Force, and after I was honorably discharged. I had self control, but I saw a lot of lives and careers ruined because of gambling. I believe in the exercise of free will and personal responsibility, but I believe gambling can have adverse impacts on society and is far too glamorized today. Look no further than the impact sports gambling has had on professional and collegiate sports and the lives of youth who lack discipline and restraint.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who believes in forgiveness, who believes in loving thy neighbor as yourself, to not be judgmental or hypocritical, and that while all men have sinned, we can be saved and forgiven by Jesus.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly support voter photo identification laws or the requirement to prove your identity through multiple alternative identification records. You have to prove your identity to receive almost any other government service. You have to provide ID to fly on a plane, purchase a gun, or even get a library card. But for some reason there are a vocal minority who believe one of our most sacred acts in society should not be afforded the same protections.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
While on the City Council in Mesa, I tried to amend the City's Non-Discrimination Ordinance to keep biological males out of women's bathrooms, but was overruled by my colleagues. As a result, I was one of two votes to oppose the approval and implementation of the NDO. I personally believe anyone who is pro-woman, or considers themselves a feminist should be protecting the right of women to compete in sports free from biologically male competitors.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
I am an avid outdoorsman and defender of our beautiful state. However, the environmental movement has been hijacked by extremists and activists who use their religious-like fervor to shutdown or prevent proven forms of generation like natural gas plants in the name of climate change.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
For our immediate needs, natural gas power plants are the most affordable and reliable. Natural gas is more financially economical than coal and more reliable than a portfolio overly dependent upon renewables. In the future, hopefully more nuclear.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No!
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No!
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
Reducing recidivism and rehabilitation were possible. However, our criminal justice system has often become a travesty of justice where victims and their families are mocked by weak sentences or in some cases no sentences at all. Those who commit violent acts, especially against the most vulnerable, should be met with swift and equitable punishment.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
I commend the legislators who voted YES on HB2678 in the 2025 session to update Arizona's child exploitation laws to include AI generated or digitally altered images. The bill was signed into law in May 2025, further protecting our children. Pay attention to those legislators, even conservatives, who voted against HB2678 and ask if you trust them to continue to represent you and our most vulnerable.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
The supreme law of the land is the United States Constitution and Article VI provides the core principles and hierarchy of law and Sharia law is not, and should not be included. The two principles are incompatible.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe law-abiding Americans have the right to bear arms. However, some people have mental health issues or violent tendencies and shouldn't have access. The question is, who has the authority to ensure our rights aren't infringed upon but the public is protected from dangerous individuals? I have firsthand experience with a mentally unwell neighbor who terrorized my family and others in the neighborhood with weapons, and was eventually arrested. He should never have access to a firearm.
