QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Additionally, I will continue to fight to protect life at all stages (from conception to grave) and advocate for more, easier and safe adoptions. Every child deserves life and every life deserves a family.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only when it is necessary to prevent the death of the mother.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
They are two distinct spheres and God is ruler over both and God has delegated authority to both. The state is not over the church (“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.”), and the "Keys to the Kingdom" belong to the church (Mt 16:19). Both are vessels for God's purpose, they are to serve His purposes, and His will shall always prevail.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. The preeminent responsibility of the United States government is to defend and protect the American people and advance their interests and welfare domestically and abroad. Fulfilling this responsibility requires the U.S. to engage in a broad spectrum of bilateral and multilateral relationships, international organizations, and legal agreements and treaties. However, it is imperative that the U.S. understand that these relations are not an end but merely a means for securing the safety, prosperity, and opportunities of the American people. As noted by the 2017 National Security Strategy, "Authoritarian actors have long recognized the power of multilateral bodies and have used them to advance their interests and limit the freedom of their own citizens. If the United States cedes leadership of these bodies to adversaries, opportunities to shape developments that are positive for the United States will be lost. All institutions are not equal, however. The United States will prioritize its efforts in those organizations that serve American interests, to ensure that they are strengthened and supportive of the United States, our allies, and our partners. Where existing institutions and rules need modernizing, the United States will lead to update them. At the same time, it should be clear that the United States will not cede sovereignty to those that claim authority over American citizens and are in conflict with our constitutional framework."
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
President Trump correctly identified the defeat of ISIS as the top U.S. priority in Syria and Iraq. While ISIS been ousted from its “caliphate,” it remains a lethal force and could make a comeback that poses a reconstituted and credible threat to the region and by extension to the US. The U.S. must lead an international effort to prevent an ISIS resurgence, primarily providing air support, intelligence, counterterrorism assistance, training, and logistical support. The U.S. should also work with Jordan, Iraq, and allies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to coordinate more robust Arab efforts to defeat ISIS. Additionally, Iran’s radical Islamist regime poses the greatest long-term Middle Eastern threat to the U.S. and its allies. Iran has developed a network of terrorist proxy groups to attack U.S. military forces and allies in the Middle East. Also, Iran has built up the largest ballistic missile force in the region and begun enriching uranium, moves that only makes sense if Tehran has plans to arm the missiles with nuclear warheads. The US should escalate sanctions on Iran until the regime agrees to permanently give up its nuclear weapons ambitions. We should maintain a strong U.S. military force in the region to bolster deterrence against terrorism and an Iranian nuclear breakout. We should work with allies like Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council to roll back Iranian influence. We should not return to the 2015 nuclear agreement unless it was significantly stronger and addressed Iran’s support for terrorism in the region. The U.S. should not lift sanctions on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. A free Iran is the best hope for peace and security in the volatile Middle East. U.S. policy should clearly reflect that the U.S. stands with the Iranian people, not with the repressive regime in Tehran.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. Because there is risk with vaccines, so where there is risk there should be choice of the individual. There should be religious and medical exemptions.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
Our ongoing deficit spending year after year now has us $30+ Trillion in debt. This debt load and servicing the interest on that debt is unsustainable and undermines every ounce of security we have as a country. We must not only balance our budget, but we must retire our debt and stop enslaving our children and grandchildren to a debt they did not incur. It is immoral.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Our tax system should be simple, transparent, and fair. Make the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent. Enact Universal Savings Accounts. Cut tax subsidies.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
The Supreme Court has declared immigration an exclusively federal domain in Arizona v. United States (567 U.S. 387) in 2012. This makes sanctuary policies illegal and unconstitutional. Because they undermine federal law and give aid and comfort to illegal alien criminals, the U.S. government is well within its right to defund sanctuary jurisdictions and demand that they change these harmful policies.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
There are several avenues for legal immigration to the United States. Among these are immigration for immediate family and family preferred members, employment immigration, and immigration as a refugee or asylee.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
I believe there should be more mental health and community programs funded as police prevention programs, but do not believe this should come from police funds.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I do not believe any further restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety than what already is on the books.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I'm a Christian, a Marine Corps Veteran, a Constitutional Conservative and I worked 8 years for former Congressman Trent Franks – 5 years as his Chief of Staff in Washington. My wife and I have lived, worked, worshipped and raised our family in the western part of Maricopa County for nearly 30 years. We have 3 grown kids, 3 grandkids, and a herd of baby kid goats, a flock of chickens and more on our little homestead in Waddell. In addition to my military service and work on Capitol Hill, I have mostly been a corporate coach – training, coaching, consulting businesses on leadership, conflict resolution and negotiation. I basically help people and organizations solve problems. I’ve consulted and trained small & large businesses, non-profit organizations, local governments, and even Congressional staff. I hold a BA in sociology and culture, I have my MBA and professional certificates related to people skills. My work in the US Congress initially was doing constituent services for veterans and military issues. Luke AFB was in the District as well as one of the largest concentrations of Veterans in the state. As Trent’s Chief of Staff in DC, my job was managing the team and leading the policy initiatives outlined by the Congressman. In a nutshell, a Chief in DC is the Congressman in absentia. I functioned as such on matters of policy, strategy, leadership meetings and more. I held a secret clearance, was briefed on matters of importance when it pertained to Mr. Frank’s committee jurisdiction, travelled to foreign countries and regularly engaged with leadership in the House, in AZ Gov, with Industry, Fed Agencies and Constituents. I am running for Congress because I don’t like the direction our country is headed. On every front we have monumental challenges that is making us less secure – be it border, economic, energy or national security – we are facing enormous problems in our country all the while our elected officials are wrapped around the axel, dysfunctional and unable to lead us to safer and higher ground. We are at war with ourselves in many ways – a rhetorical civil war of politics at the expense of the American people’s peace, liberty and prosperity. I am reminded that it is the water on the inside of the boat that sinks the boat. It is not sustainable. But I believe it is fixable. But it will take leadership to get us back on track. I will bring effective leadership to the US House and push for Congress to regain its constitutionally prescribed authority. Namely, the power of the purse through regular order and oversight of federal agencies. I will fight to limit and shrink the size of the federal government and return 10th amendment authorities back to the states and the people. I will work to protect the lives of the citizenry of our country, from conception to grave so that all may live and thrive in peace and prosperity. Leadership, Liberty and Life. Those are the 3 anchor points and foundation of my platform as a Constitutional Conservative. I hope you will explore more on my website, view my launch video, read my bio and click the link to get involved in my campaign.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I will support legislation that protects the freedom of all Americans, including both individuals and institutions, to think, speak, and act according to their belief that marriage is between a man and a woman and that there are only two sexes. I oppose any federal bill that makes sexual orientation and gender identity protected classes and any appropriations bill that contains sexual orientation and/or gender identity language.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born again Christian that believes the good news of the Gospel that Jesus Christ came to save sinners. I believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God and relevant for all matters of life to guide and instruct in how to live for the glory of God on this earth. I believe in the sanctity of life from conception to grave and that all people are created in God's image and are to be treated with dignity and respect. I believe the church to have the keys to the Kingdom of God and to make disciples of all nations. I believe God designed the family to be the primary institution to extend to the next generation the knowledge of God and faith and life and that parents have the God-given rights to steward the affairs of their home and their children's well-being in all matters. I believe the state (government) is an instrument in God's hands for giving order to society for the sake of peace and prosperity and is not above God's authority.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Voter ID is one of the simplest ways to prevent voter fraud.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I do not believe this should be done at the federal level. Voter laws are best handled at the local level. Federalizing elections would amount to one big power grab.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is real, but I do not believe it is systemic nor institutional in the US. There are anti-discrimination laws as well as org policies to prevent this being institutionalized. Where racism undermines domestic security is the reaction/over reaction to incidents in our society that becomes a pretext for riots and civil disorder. I believe in the rule of law and allowing the judicial process to run its course.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Thanks to advances in smart-extraction technologies, the United States is now the world's largest oil and natural gas producer. We need to stop the attack on America's energy sector and declare our American (Energy) Independence.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. We all want a clean environment for ourselves and for future generations. Our land and resources are best cared for by the people closest to them—not by the federal government.
