QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Rape, Incest, Life of the Mother, and in some rare medical cases up to viability.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
The same Missouri guidelines as all controlled prescription drugs.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Poor women deserve healthcare and that may include cancer screenings.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
In general, I support life from birth to death.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
We must protect small business owners and support them. Private property is a fundamental right.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
It's simply the minimum an employee can be paid. Perhaps it could be tied to inflation, but there is no guarantee of a family living wage in the definition of minimum wage.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
No, the best interest of the people and the investments should be the primary considerations.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Religious freedom is important and I will defend it - the Government has no role in church opening or closing decisions.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
We have fundamental God-given rights including religious freedom; no one should be forced by the government to violate their religious choices.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Healthcare in the U.S. is a mess and I'm not sure there is a good solution. Medicaid and medicare are important, but the thought of Government taking over health care decisions is horrifying.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Limited conditions in healthcare fields but never when the vaccine is in the experimental stages.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
We must increase the capacity and strength of our military. Our planes and ships are aging rapidly.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes - Israel is our only true ally in the middle east.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Yes! Any country must control it's borders in order to be sovereign.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Parents know what's best for their child. At the same time, we must support public education. We do not have to choose - we can provide school choice and support public education.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Children. elderly, and special needs are all vulnerable and should be protected. At 18 years of age (not before), an adult can join the military or choose bodily mutilation.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
As long as the child is not harmed or damaged.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Gender transition is an adult decision that should be funded by an adult, not the tax payer.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Agree
From a government perspective, marriage is a legal union between two people. My religious (Catholic) views are that marriage is only between a man and a woman, but I do not seek imposition of my views through legislation.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I'm a Catholic and have traditional family values.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
ID is required to enter a court or get on an airplane...it's only reasonable to have an ID in order to vote.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral college is constitutional and designed to protect voters in smaller population states.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Extreme views - based on race or anything else - could be a potential security threat, but is NOT the greatest threat to our country.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Our country is not perfect, and racism does occur; so does ageism, sexism, and anti-religious sentiment. At it's core, our country is not fundamentally racist and most people are good.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
We should protect girls and women.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Energy should be an all the above approach and we must balance needs with the environment.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear with our current technology and soon organic sources (wind, solar, water, etc) as technology eventually evolves.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect and serve citizens, promote the general welfare, and ensure domestic tranquility.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am a fiscal hawk. First and foremost, the Government must be constrained to operate within its means. Deficient spending is not acceptable, especially spending at the burden of future generations. I'm pro military and support first responders.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Police must be funded and tasked to do police work. Voters can determine an appropriate level of social services and community programming. Although the two things are separate, they can operate cooperatively within the constraints of funding.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
2A rights coexist with responsible gun ownership. Criminals and crime are separate issues from responsible gun-owning citizens.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
Teachers should teach and law enforcement should be armed.
