Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

No Circumstances. Life is precious and should be treasured.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The tax code should be far less complex.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We need to distinguish between what is needed and what is wanted. We must have serious conversations about what Alaska can afford and we need to be good stewards of the people's resources.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

There should be no guaranteed taxpayer-funded college. The merit based Alaska Performance Scholarship has incentivized Alaska's youth to enroll into Alaska colleges and encourages our kids to stay in Alaska.


RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

No circumstances. "First Amendment:Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."


HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Americans have paid into medicare. The government has a contract to fulfill at this point. There are many conversations about this issue and it is not an easy one. Answer C may best represent my view.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Where there is risk, there must be choice. I believe in a parent's right to make the health choices for their child and themselves. I do not support medical mandates.


NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

We need to "speak softly and carry a big stick". We need to use common sense with intelligent forethought followed by decisive actions.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Finish building the wall and verify who crosses the border. Immigrants must follow the law.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We need to follow the laws in place. The U.S. was referred to as the "Melting Pot", we should encourage legal immigration. We should review the requirements and laws to ensure that we are able to allow legal immigration of those who want to become American citizens. We need to ensure the safety of our nation with due diligence on all applications, rejecting those with criminal backgrounds.

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Election integrity is essential to our constitutional republic. People need to believe in the integrity of the election process. It is not unreasonable to require a photo ID to vote.

The promotion of racism and segregation is a threat to our society. We need to come together equally as Alaskans and Americans.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

My priorities include: Promote responsible resource development. Protect individual rights & freedoms. Lower the cost of government while preserving essential state services.


CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment to the Constitution states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Felons are not allowed to have a gun under current laws. These laws should be followed and enforced.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
