QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Life of Mother; Rape; Incest
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I am in favor of as little taxation as is reasonably necessary for maintaining the key important functions of the government. I am also in favor of structuring taxation in Michigan so that we are one of the most attractive and competitive states in the nation to attract industry, businesses and good paying jobs to the great state of Michigan.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I believe our biggest problem in our state is no so much taxation as it is in spending. Michigan has a spending problem. The legislature that is entrusted with the tax dollars for our state must be very disciplined and wise stewards of these funds. If elected I will hold myself accountable to the highest standards for determining how to allocate funds. Funds must be used for critical infrastructure, roads, public education, law and order, health services and protecting our natural resources.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
I strongly believe it is the responsibility of the tax payers to provide a solid foundation of education to the population from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Not everyone desires or is destined to obtain a college education. I oppose adding additional tax burdens to the population by adding college education to the responsibility of tax payers.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The right of personal conscious is the highest right an individual possesses. The right of ones conscious should never be subevent to the government or violated by laws.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None. Period. Please refer to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. The US Constitution cannot be violated for any reasons including reasons of fear.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Never. Period. Under NO circumstances. Ever.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Islamic terrorists have declared and demonstrated through a long succession of actions including the attack of the world trade center on 911, that they are the enemy of the United States of America. To combat this enemy first of all every effort must be made to prevent nuclear warhead technology from getting into the hands of Islamic terrorists. Secondly, countries that harbor Islamic terrorists must be sanctioned in whatever forms are available and have impact. And finally, the US must be willing to commit armed forces to engage in situations to combat Islamic terrorism that serve the long term stability and safety of the USA.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I categorically disagree with every one of these statements.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The USA must have secure borders. The very sovereignty of our nation depends on secure borders. To be clear, I support legal immigration. Our country was founded on and currently maintained by legal immigration. However, there is no justification to have an open border in which illegal immigration can occur.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Religious persecution. Those who love our country. Cannot be criminals or terrorists. Must be willing to pursue the American dream and not be a burden to the welfare system.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
The goal is to educate our population, not force which way they are educated. Standard must be maintained, but choices are healthy and valuable. Our population is diverse and requires diverse options for education. One size does not fit all. Additionally, choices produce competition and competition increases quality of services provided. Monopolies are never healthy for any sector or industry including public education.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I could not agree more. As George Washington stated in his farewell address "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports." The strong reliance on their God and creator is what allowed the founding fathers to create the greatest document on the planet, the US Constitution, second in importance only to the Bible.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I am a man of science and scientific training. There is nothing more clear in science than the absolute certainty that there are TWO genders, a man and a woman.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree completely with this statement.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I categorically disagree with this misleading and purposefully anti-American statement. I would also like to point out that when our country was founded, slavery was a way of life. There was nothing unusual about the practice of slavery. In fact at the founding of our country of the 190 countries that existed, ALL 190 countries participated in slavery. In fact, even today in 2022 94 nations have not banned slavery. Additionally, the USA was the fourth country to ban slavery.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a strong Christian that has accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I am an active member of my local church 2/42 Community Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I serve on my church's safety team as a sheep dog keeping our flock safe so they may take next steps with God in a safe environment. I believe strongly in the greatest of all commandments as stated in Matthew 22:37 "You shall love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind".
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We must be able to have complete confidence in the integrity of our elections. Proving your identity to vote is absolutely necessary and in no way deters anyone from voting. Showing a valid ID doesn't deter voting any more than it deters opening a bank account, checking into a hotel or boarding an airplane.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Absentee voting must only be allowed under extreme circumstances that must be proven, such as being out of the country at the time of the election. Valid state-issued ID is an absolute mandatory requirement for voting in person and obtaining an absentee ballot. The elimination of any drop-box that is not inside a City Clerks office. Eliminate any and all private funding given to any person or agency involved with elections, including creative foundation donations or other resourceful avenues that undermine campaign finance laws. One day voting. No pre-election day voting period. No post-election day voting. Make election day a national holiday so that everyone has the ability to vote in person. Eliminate participation with ERIC.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I honestly do not understand this question. I lack the proper context to formulate an informed answer.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
This is ridiculous.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The one and ONLY purpose of government is to Protect our Rights.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Not sure any exist. Sorry not able to verify my personal firmly held beliefs. Maybe scroll through my social media posts is the best I can suggest. Check all the groups that I follow on Instagram maybe. Sorry not sure how to prove I'm a conservative.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I have decided to run for public office because I am deeply troubled by the direction of our country and the decisions being made by those in office. I would have been happy to continue to focus on my own needs and desires, but have come to the conslusion that I can no longer live with my self by just complaining. It is my duty to step up and serve my country and make a difference by putting my personal goals and ambitions on the back burner while I focus on the needs and priorities of my community, my state and my nation. Our constitutional republic only works if good people are willing to step forward and sacrifice their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to stand by a do nothing. I am no longer willing to stand by and do nothing.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
There always needs to be accountability for ones actions. I think a better strategy is to award damages against District Attorneys who bring charges against police officers and fail to get a conviction. The DA needs to have some skin in the game.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Minimum age of ownership is only restriction. 21 is a reasonable age minimum in my view. All other restrictions violate the 2A. I am strongly opposed to limits on type of firearm, magazine capacity limits, background checks and red flag laws and all registration laws. I oppose all "may issue" laws. I will propose legislation in the State of Michigan for "constitutional carry".
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. What next, sue food manufacturers for obesity? This is the most abusive and unacceptable type of legislation ever imagined.
