QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion is the direct, intentional killing of a pre-born child. Medical treatments necessary to save the life of the mother are not the same as abortion. Treatments for ectopic or tubal pregnancies are already permitted under Tennessee law because they address a life-threatening medical emergency, not an elective abortion. An alternative to an abortion is to deliver the baby. Pre-born children deserve equal protection and equal rights.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Market forces should determine wages to avoid job losses, reduction of work hours or increases in prices. Reducing regulations, lowering taxes, & fostering a business-friendly environment are more effective ways to improve wages & living standards.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Reduce bureaucratic growth, cut unnecessary regulations & require transparency in taxpayer spending. Require clear definitions of success before funding programs so results can be measured. Stop using tax dollars to pick winners & losers through subsidies or politically connected deals. Plan responsibly for growth, infrastructure, water use, land development & data centers so taxpayers aren’t left paying for preventable problems.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

“Separation of church and state” means the federal government should not establish religion or control a church. But it does not mean people of faith must be silent in public life or leave their beliefs at the door when they participate in government. The Founders recognized that religious liberty includes both freedom from government-established religion and freedom to live out one’s faith openly.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Government should not force individuals or businesses to violate sincerely held moral or religious beliefs, especially when it involves compelled speech or participation. However, conscience rights should not become a blanket excuse to deny basic medical care or necessary treatment to a patient because of personal disagreement with that patient’s choices, vaccination status, or other medical decisions.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support the government maintaining broad centralized databases tracking citizens’ medical conditions simply to measure economic costs. Healthcare information is deeply personal, and history shows that centralized data systems can be abused, breached, or expanded beyond their original purpose. Government can study public health trends using anonymized and limited data without creating systems that undermine privacy, individual liberty, or trust between patients and providers.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. The relationship between the United States and Israel is multifaceted and encompasses strategic, security, economic, and cultural dimensions. It is rooted in shared interests, values, and a long history of cooperation, and it remains a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Education decisions are best made closest to the child, not by distant federal bureaucracies. For decades, Washington has increased spending and regulations while academic outcomes have often declined. Tennessee should have the flexibility to shape education policies that reflect our values, priorities, and students’ needs rather than one-size-fits-all federal mandates.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

Our schools and universities should remain accountable to American citizens and focused on educating students, not advancing the interests or political narratives of foreign governments. Transparency and safeguards are important to protect academic independence, national security, and public trust.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Disagree

I generally do not support expanding gambling because of the long-term social & economic consequences it can bring to families and communities. While gambling can generate revenue, it can also increase addiction, financial hardship, & pressure on vulnerable individuals, often while creating greater dependence on government-managed revenue streams. TN should be cautious about expanding industries that profit when citizens lose money, particularly when the costs to families are overlooked.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a Christian, I have placed my faith in Jesus and the Bible as the Word of God.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear and fossil fuels

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I believe in limited government, adherence to the Constitution, protection of individual liberty, and respect for traditional values.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

The primary goals of the criminal justice system should be protecting public safety, delivering equal justice under the law, holding offenders accountable, and protecting the constitutional rights of every citizen.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Protecting children from sexual exploitation should be one of the clearest and most legitimate roles of government. Laws should aggressively target predators, traffickers, and platforms that knowingly facilitate exploitation, while also being crafted carefully so they do not unnecessarily infringe on constitutional rights, free speech, privacy, or the primary authority of parents to guide and protect their own children online.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None: “Shall not infringe.” I am skeptical of broad restrictions that infringe on constitutional rights without clear evidence they reduce crime, especially when criminals already ignore existing laws. Tennessee should prioritize prosecution of violent offenders, mental health intervention where appropriate with due process protections, and strong penalties for criminal misuse of firearms.
