QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only in the most remote of circumstances where one life has to be balanced against another with any number of protections in place for all parties involved.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Neutral
Religiously, I believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. Society has enacted laws to expand relationships government sanctions. Unless there is a cultural shift, there will be no changes in the law and as long as government allows people their religious faith without encroaching on their beliefs or practices, and there is fairness for all, then people of all persuasions on this issue can manage to get along.
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Neutral
The Ten Commandments are the basis for our free society and largely still underpin most of our laws today. Students who are ignorant of the historical, political, societal novelty, as well as the cultural references, because of the religious connotations cannot seriously debate a better form of government without referencing the Decalogue.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
All students, teachers and administrators should foster an environment where all faiths can be shared, professed and debated in a courteous and civil manner. If that can't be taught in schools, it will be that much harder to teach it in our workplaces, halls of law and justice and the public forum. As long as no one is being forcibly proselytized against their will, issues of religion and conscience should be open for discussion.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
The best defense against a bully is someone willing to punch back twice as hard. Hopefully we never have to use the full power and measure of our military again in battle, but I would rather live in a world where honorable men and women are willing to lay down their lives for freedom then be subject to the whims of warlords as is the case for a good portion of the world.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Neutral
Government exists to perpetuate natural law as outlined in the Constitution. Inasmuch as a representative form of government is limited to protecting the life, liberty, property and rights of it citizens through a stable, common set of laws that emphasize family, then the results will allow for a livable income. I do not believe in redistribution of wealth, but we should take care of the least, last & lost among us. Local governments do that best when governed prudently.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
It's the custom and practice to publicly fund (with taxes) the education of our children through the age of majority to prepare them to be engaged citizens and community leaders in the 21st Century economy. None of this can happen without the absolute support of the family, community and cultural influences that made America what she is. That said, inasmuch as the public funding can follow the student, educational outcomes will be stronger.
EDUCATION
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Agree
We need to add parents back into our children's education.
Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.
Strongly Agree
Parents are the best judges of their children's needs, maturity and ability to process complex information. Complex issues on human sexuality have no place in elementary and middle school where basic biological and reproduction can be taught. Should high school students want to learn more in the classroom, parents should be the ones to decide.
I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.
Strongly Disagree
We should teach about every aspect of American history, warts and all, without engaging in cultural Marxism.
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Agree
The federal government has done nothing to improve educational outcomes in the last half century. Let local school boards set the bar and deal with the outcomes. Remove the scapegoating.
2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Agree
As long as the principal knows and feels confident in the teacher's ability with rigorous training protocols, I have no problem with armed teachers in my children's classrooms, especially if they have previous law enforcement or military training. If the teacher has problems or a short temper, I believe that the principal has the right to not allow a teacher to carry on campus.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Do you support mandatory vaccinations for children attending public school?
I believe that parents can make well informed decisions on vaccinations based upon trusted science and time tables with which they are comfortable without being compelled.
I support mask mandates.
Strongly Disagree
Masks are minimally effective in limited and sterile settings when not constantly touched or adjusted. Rather than tool for limited public health impacts, they because an unnecessary political weapon to force compliance.
ABOUT YOU
I voted in these elections:
2012 Primary 2012 General Election 2014 Primary 2014 General Election 2016 Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Primary 2020 General Election
Americans have an incredible right to vote and speak out about important issues before them. Why wouldn't I take advantage of this opportunity?
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I'm a conservative. I deeply understand economic issues and am tolerant of other points of view, especially of those ideologically more liberal or progressive than I am. I believe in being kind and understanding of my neighbors, no matter what they believe, and I do what I can to serve them to the best of my abilities. I believe that we can and should do that without the force of government.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What books have had the most profound impact on your view of life?
Mere Christianity (C.S. Lewis), Jesus the Christ (James E. Talmadge),
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I've been happily married for 21 years and have 5 amazing children. I'm a live and let live type of person and I believe that all people should be anxiously engaged in a good cause of their own free will. And America is the greatest experiment of modern times.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Most functioning representative governments that respect the rule of law, trade and property rights can all trace their origins back to a strong Judeo-Christian ethic.
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
High school is a place where we should defend our daughters' rights to compete on an even playing field with women who did not grow up as males.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You can find my beliefs in the Holy Bible and Book of Mormon.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
Parents know their children intimately and better than any other person on the planet. Should there be a need to deal with a child who comes from an abusive family, or is neglected or otherwise mistreated, courts of law can adequately adjudicate intervention where local authorities deem it necessary.
