Health of the mother when decided by a healthcare professional.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The Tax code should be made easier to understand. In the State of SC I would support a zero percent income tax to be competitive with other states in the region.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

A penny saved is a penny earned. I think there are many departments that could be wiser in how they spend money. When you work for the government you make sure to spend all of your budget each year to ensure that you get at lest the same amount the next year. This system does not help the taxpayers. We should reward departments that are under budget and mindful that they are spending the taxpayers money.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

I am fine with public universities receiving money from the state, but do not support universal taxpayer funded college to all SC public schools.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I believe that an employer can require vaccinations because I believe in a free market. It is not right for the government to make employers require vaccinations, but it is also not right for the government to prevent employers to do what they feel like is best for their company. The government should try to stay out of business decisions.


NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Provide support to countries to fight the threat in their own countries.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

People who support our way of life and want to contribute to our society. There should be a legal framework to allow people into the US and it should be enforced.

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

I do not support a voucher programs because of the possibility of government overreach. When there are vouchers the government has control of the schools that accept the money thus giving the government more power of private schools.

I am a Christian. I believe that the Bible is the word of God. Being Presbyterian I believe that the Westminster Confession of Faith is not perfect, but is the best explanation of what the scriptures teach.

I think SC has done a good job of election integrity and the recent changes should be adopted nationwide.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

As a public school teacher I believe that there are many ways that we can improve education in SC and that a strong education system will improve our state in the years to come. We need to make sure that SC is competitive with other states in our region and the US as a whole. Our tax system must be reworked to be bring more companies to SC while also taking care of our small business community. Finally we must invest in our infrastructure so that the quality of life we love is maintained.
