QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

We should look at all alternatives to abortion, including fetal transplants and adoption. Abortion should never be used as birth control. No public funds should ever be used for abortion.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

We must promote a culture of Life. Assisted suicide and euthanasia compromise health care providers and confuse their roles as healers.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only to save the life of the mother.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

I support Universal Debt Jubilee, as a periodic economic reset to prevent detrimental concentrations of economic power. https://www.jubileeusa.org/faith/faith-and-worship-resources/debt-cancellation-a-biblical-norm.html

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

We must end deficit spending by the government.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

We should abolish the Income Tax and the IRS.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Yes, the government exists to defend us, not oppress us.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

No one should be forced to provide services in violation of their moral and/or religious beliefs.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

There should be no formal relationship between church and state. The state should neither promote nor hinder religious activities. Freedom of religion, belief, conscience and association must be respected and defended by the state.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Never, under any circumstances.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C) The United States has become too involved in other's policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose the BDS movement.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The CCP is the most serious overall threat to the U.S.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Proactively engage the threat 24/7 with great wisdom, recognizing the long term nature of the struggle, and fully utilizing the experience and assistance of our allies.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

...and our Northern border, and our coasts!

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

We must insist upon the Rule of Law!

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

All who are eligible under our laws, especially legitimate asylum seekers and refugees.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

The Constitution, if properly applied, already protects all minority classes.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

This is a complex issue, not a black or white reduction.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in the Judeo/Christian faith tradition. I believe we are endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights, including Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness! I believe in a Life Affirming culture which provides adequate nurturance for each to realize their innate divine potential.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Insuring Election Integrity is a fundamental duty of our government.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Verifiable paper trails. Observable processes throughout the ballot chain of custody. Eliminate publicly funded party primary elections. Require verifible photo identification of voters. Only citizens allowed to vote. Proper purges and regular maintenance of voter registration lists. Elimination of ballot access barriers to candidates and parties. Inclusion of all candidates in public debates. Implementation of Ranked Choice voting. Elimination if onerous petition and filing fee requirements for candidates and parties. Elimination of oppressive campaign reporting requirements and associated punitive "speech silencing" fines for simple reporting mistakes by grassroots campaigns. Voting equipment, supplies and processes should all be American made, sourced and operated on American territory by Americans! Vote/Election fraud should have serious legal, political, financial and social consequences. Term limits should be implemented at all levels of government. Election days should be paid work holidays.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Our existing social programs constitute a form of social reparations. Otherwise, we would be pitting one segment of the population against another perpetually. We must cease the divide and conquer mentality, and any race based policies.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, any ideology which advocates violence to diminish, dehumanize and oppress any other person or people is a potential threat to U.S. domestic security as it undermines our basic social contract of tolerance and peaceful coexistence with our neighbors. It undermines our sense of community, peace, stability and harmony. It is based on historical distortions and false science. It is propaganda.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Disagree

We must be good stewards of our environment. It's the only planet we have. Hydraulic fracking is damaging to our lands and waters.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. We are to be good stewards of the planet. History has proven that most systems, left on their own, will not respect the environment. We only inhabit one world. We must stop polluting our home. We must practice the Seven Generations rule, contemplating how our decisions impact seven generations into the future. We must plant trees, and pollinator plants for the bees and other beneficial insects. They are our partners in agriculture. We must stop using toxins which destroy them.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I believe in the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. My main campaign theme is, "Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness!" I believe in honoring our heritage, and pioneering our future!

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://ballotpedia.org/J.R._Myers

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

We need accountable servant leadership in government. We need free, equal and fair elections. We need to insist upon constitutionally based civil governance, due process and the rule of law. I will continue to affirm all innocent life from conception to natural death. We will continue our defense of the Second Amendment. We will oppose presumptive Red Flag laws. We must remove ourselves from entangling alliances. We must end illegal and undeclared wars! We will end the school to prison pipeline! We must end the Criminal Justice/Military/Industrial complex! We must end the militarization of the police! We must and will end the criminalization of our populace! Thankfully, the War On Drugs and Marijuana prohibition are clearly ending, we will make sure it does. We must continue to resist an Imperial Presidency and decentralize power to the people, localities and states. We must end dictates by Executive Order. No one is above the law. Everyone must be held equally accountable for their actions. We must implement a Universal Debt Jubilee as the only real antidote to the menacing multi-trillion dollar national debt tsunami. Congress and the States shall exercise their prerogatives. We must develop our economy through continued technological innovation and fair trade deals. We will continue to promote domestic Rare Earth Element mining and refining, Hemp production and other sustainable alternatives, including energy diversification. We will prosper by being responsible stewards of our planet and diligent conservationists of our resources. Healthy elections begin and end with healthy campaigns. Proper voter registration, ballot access liberalization, balloting, vote counting, permanent records, ethical campaign finance reform, unbiased coverage and debate inclusion of all ballot qualified candidates are essential. Together, as we move forward, we will continue to promote the ideals of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness for all.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Agree

Departmental policy should be clear and focused on public safety, with public input and oversight.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Agree

Yes, the police and corrections should not be the major mental health providers in our nation. We need more proactive community based prevention. Diversion of some funds into mental health and other community based support and treatment programs would be a great improvement over current policies.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

No restrictions on gun ownership will protect public safety. We need to foster a life affirming culture. People must feel their worth and dignity.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

We must not confuse the guilt of a perpetrator with manufacturing safety. Responsibility belongs with the individual who initiates violence against innocents.
