Abortion should only be allowed under extreme circumstances such as rape, incest, or when the health of the mother is at risk.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Every life is sacred and should be protected from conception until death. There are millions of people in the United States and worldwide who cannot conceive on their own and would be able to adopt if a baby is truly unwanted.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Minimum wage should be left up to the individual states to decide. Not all states have the same economy and by enforcing a federal minimum wage it could have a negative impact on those smaller states.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state upholds our first amendment right to freedom of religion. By not forcing religion at school it allows students to freely practice the religion of their choosing on their time. However, I do condone schools that want to have their own religious practices, as long as it doesn’t interfere with direct learning.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Providing service should be a choice. In a free market, there is competition so no individual or business should be required to do something they don’t agree with.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Affordable healthcare should be available to all, but I don't believe it is the federal government's responsibility to provide it. You should also not be required to pay for healthcare if you don't want it. If you already have health insurance, I am of the believe that you shouldn't then have to pay additional money or that it should be too costly.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

I feel that would be an invasion of privacy and more government intervention into private lives. While it would be good to see how much money is spent annually on ongoing medical care, I disagree with keeping a database of individuals for that purpose.

The United States' relationship with Israel is definitely important. A lot of America's founding principles come from the Judeo-Christian belief and our country was largely responsible for the creation of Israel after World War 2.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Illegal immigration is a violation of federal law and protecting those persons should not be acceptable. If people want to come into our country, they should do it legally, and should only be accepted if they are not criminals, drug dealers, or wish to do harm. If people have come here illegally, there should be a time to give them to become naturalized citizens. By protecting undocumented people, it sets a poor precedents for those that choose to come here the right way.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

The states and local communities know best what the needs of their students are and having a federal Department of Education puts the federal government more into things it shouldn't be in. I do believe the federal government has a responsibility to make sure the level of education is fair and consistent across the 50 states, but that the actual administration of it should be localized.

I believe in God and Heaven. I was raised by my parents in the Roman Catholic faith and try my best, as all should do, to follow the lessons of Jesus. I pray at every meal, before bed, and my children attend a private Christian school. I believe if more people followed the laws of God and lived through the teaching of Jesus our country would be a better place.

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of the criminal justice system should be to keep our communities safe and ensure that those individuals that violate the law are being held accountable for their actions.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Ultimately the responsibility of monitoring online activity falls on the parents. Parents should be active in their childrens lives and should be informed as to what their child is doing, or what websites are being accessed. As a father of 3 children I always monitor what my children have access to and what they are watching. The role of the government in this is to make sure their is no illegal activity online and that children are not being harmed.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe in the 2nd Amendment as it was written, that every one has the right to own a weapon for the purposes of protection, without restrictions. However, I believe mental health is a big problem in today's society and figuring out who poses a threat mentally, in regards to owning a gun, should be prohibited from purchasing and owning one, in the interest of public safety. That being said, those that choose to do harm will find a way to do so regardless.
