QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Agree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.

Strongly Disagree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

There is value in an educated workforce. Advanced education (i.e. college) should be affordable, but not free. Anything free suffers from the "tragedy of the commons." K-12 education should always be a right all American children should enjoy.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Strongly Agree

School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Students should not be allowed to pray in school.

Disagree

If you've ever taken a test, you are well aware that there is prayer in schools. That said, it's not the school's business to lead prayer. This should be left to the students themselves, per their own beliefs. Religious schools are available to those that want that level of prayer provided to their children daily.

EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

Oversee policy and the school administration. The board are Generals laying out battle strategies, the superintendents are the staff officers providing guidance and leadership to the principals and school administrators, who manage the teachers, who teach the children. They should provide policies and guidance that result in educated children who are ready to enter the workforce or advance to higher education. Board members are also the representative of all the voters in their district, and in a republic, they need to answer to the people they serve. It is the responsibility of the board to listen to and be reactive to the desires of the parents and voters.

Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?

This is a policy decision, and should have heavy involvement from the board, in their role as representatives of the parents.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Any parent should be allowed to speak for the allotted time. Again, we live in a republic, where representatives should be responsive to the public, and should always listen. It's the minimum required for the job.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning

Mathematics Language Arts Vocational Learning Science American History Personal Finances Art & Music Physical Fitness Foreign Language Social Emotional Learning Information Technology Sexuality

American civics education should emphasize our nation's founding principles of liberty and equality.

Strongly Agree

All citizens are equal in the eyes of the law. It's the only way that works.

Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.

Agree

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Strongly Agree

I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.

Strongly Disagree

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Strongly Agree

The children don't belong to the state. The state educates them because an educated workforce is more useful than an illiterate one. Schools should not be used as a place to program or indoctrinate our children.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I was raised Methodist, but I attend a Lutheran church with my wife. I believe Christ told us to love one another, and that's the commandment I try to follow every single day.

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

This seems like the "equitable" thing to do, but all you accomplish is destroying women's sports. I don't argue with any adults right to identify as they please, I am an absolutist when it comes to liberty. I just don't think it's fair for those who were assigned male at birth, with the physical advantages that confers, should be allowed to disrupt proper competition in the women's leagues.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

Parents, probably around 13 when the hormones start to flow. Preserve the innocence of children but prepare teenagers for what's coming. I don't have any issue with sex ed in health classes for high-school students. Parents should of course agree to their children taking any such class and sign a permission slip.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex

Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence should be covered and pointed to as the single best way to avoid unwanted pregnancy and potential STDs. Human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects, with photos of the aftermath; stages of pregnancy and fetal development. They will figure the pleasure part out on their own, not really appropriate for a teacher to go over. HYGENE! Teach these kids how to wash and be healthy.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Strongly Agree

No one should be treating a child medically without parental consent, period. This is a clear fact of law. Children do not belong to the state, and it gets no special privileges with them.

No school official should be involved in the sexual transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.

Strongly Agree

This is for a family to work out without the intervention of outside parties. Children are impressionable, and teenagers are especially malleable. Teachers should be supportive of their students, but not acting as groomers.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

You need to show ID for pretty much any other interaction with the government. What's the difference? Who doesn't have ID at this point?

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

A candidate's personal moral values should not be relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.

Disagree

Some jerks are hyper effective. That said, I'm still not voting for any of them. Someone lacking in basic morality can't possibly be a quality public servant.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I'm very fiscally conservative, but I'm an absolutist when it comes to individual liberty.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I'm a nobody. I don't have anything about me in the media except the time I fought off a carjacker: https://www.wkrn.com/news/1-arrested-another-on-the-run-after-attempted-carjacking-in-percy-priest-area/?msclkid=ecc91a89b48211eca735a1dfd54d9120

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I'm running because I have a seven-year-old son who had kindergarten stolen from him. I want better for my child and all of the children of Clark County. I'm not a politician, I'm just a father.

2ND AMENDMENT

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Neutral

This is a very complicated issue. There should be trained professionals ready to respond at the school. I don't know that every teacher needs to be packing, but we need to find a way to keep our children safe. I support the second amendment and firearm ownership. My father raised me to believe that the 2nd amendment was a responsibility.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?

Safe, time proven vaccinations I have no problem with. I never got measles or mumps or rubella, so I'm guessing that one works. The idea of requiring anyone, much less a child to take an unproven, rapidly developed gene therapy I don't support quite so vociferously.

I support mask mandates.

Disagree

If you want to wear one, and feel safer, be my guest. Just don't force anyone else to play along with your game.
