QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe that life begins at conception and that no matter the circumstances, God is the author of life. As such, I cannot imagine a situation in which abortion can be legalized. Some might say in the case of rape, however, I believe that other alternatives exist that preserve innocent life. Some might say to save the life of the mother. But medically speaking, I have heard much testimony from licensed physicians stating that there is no medical situation where abortion is necessary to this end. If we believe that life begins at conception, then we must also extend the rights secured to ALL people by our Constitution to those who are unborn. I can find no other position than to support the protection of life at all stages, both biblically and constitutionally.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I am a supporter of the fair tax model where we tax consumption and not income. For one, this gets everyone (including illegals) paying into the system. This also allows for more middle-class opportunities for those who can continue to generate wealth and opt to lower their commercial consumption thereby lowering their tax burden. A fair tax would motivate more responsible spending habits.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We can significantly reduce foreign aid, especially to nations that are not friendly toward America. If we are serious about reducing poverty in America, then we must stop subsidizing it with programs that create an endless cycle of government dependence. I want federal money OUT of education spending. Leave education to the states.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under no circumstances whatsoever.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

D) Taxpayer-funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded. If COVID taught us anything, it is the power of federal monies in our healthcare system. With one fell swoop, CMS was able to mandate the shot for over 17,000,000 healthcare workers across the country and SCOTUS refused to step in and protect the rights of these individuals. Get federal money out of healthcare. Additionally, we do not have "health" care in this country. We have "sick" care. If we're truly working towards keeping people out of the hospital, we would focus on healthy habits and address the nation's food supply chains which are mostly garbage. Instead of addressing the root causes of sickness and disease, the government has propped up a pharmaceutical industry that only serves to create more patients.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Again, under no circumstances. Medical decisions should be left to parents and individuals, not governments.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The United States has a continued and vested interest in continuing to work to ensure that our borders are protected. We must finish the wall and we must increase our enforcement capacity to stop illegal crossings. In terms of overseas activities, we can continue with strategic diplomatic initiatives. But frankly, the US needs to get out of nation-building. The Iraq invasion and the operation in Lybia to overthrow Gaddafi have proven to be catastrophic for our interests and gave rise to Syria and ISIS. Islamic hatred of the West is never going to go away. We simply must ensure that we continue to minimize their ability to inflict damage.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

Israel is a sovereign nation and deserves to protect its borders and its own interests.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Finish the wall!

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Legal immigrants who love our country, are willing to assimilate, and want to become productive citizens are always welcome.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Agree

I continue to have concerns with these programs in terms of government money being mingled with private education or home schools. Tax credits are probably a more appropriate way to go about it in terms of allowing people to keep their own money. That said, we need to find ways to continue to defund failing public school systems and work to subsidize education that works for families.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

Obergefell must be overturned.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

God is the author and finisher of my faith. Jesus is the only begotten Son and is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. There is no way to the Father but through the blood of the resurrected Jesus. I am forgiven through repentance and saved by Grace through Faith in the Lord Jesus. My rights are God-given, not government-instituted. Therefore, my rights are pre-political and pre-Constitutional. As governments are instituted among men, our Constitution exists to form a government whose role it is to secure rights which are already mine, meaning, it cannot interfere with or remove those rights. Christians must reengage in the public square and once again insert our faith into everyday political conversations. John Adams said that our Constitution was inadequate for an immoral people. How right he was.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

One of the most secure operations in America should be our elections. A photo ID is an incredibly small ask.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Better voter roll maintenance. No machines. Secure hand-marked paper ballots. Required spot precinct audits for all elections. Do away with mail-in voting. Do away with voting centers and require voting in-person by precinct. Absentee voting for active military only.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Of course not. This entire thread of rhetoric is ridiculous. Racism has always existed and quite frankly will always exist on this side of heaven. Racism is at the root, hatred based on fear. And neither hatred nor fear can be dealt with until a heart has been redeemed and transformed by Christ. This is a spiritual problem, not a social problem. This is a sin problem. And this is precisely why the Church must reengage in a simple Gospel message and get out of the social justice movement. The Church in this instance has allowed a corrupted culture to take the lead in this conversation. It should be the other way around.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations = someone who has never owned a slave paying someone who has never been a slave.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. I do not disagree altogether with environmental regulations. We must be good stewards of what God has given us and we are responsible for where we might cause devastation, for example, toxic waste. We must require corporations to act responsibly. However, the climate change effort and initiatives like the Green New Deal are a bridge too far. We know that these efforts are only about more globalized government control. Outside of basic and sensible regulations which should mostly be handled locally and not by a centralized EPA, the private sector is much better suited to solve problems and innovate.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Romans 13...to promote good and restrain evil. "The proper end and object of authority is liberty. This liberty you are to stand for with the hazard not only of your goods, but of your lives." - John Winthrop

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Constitutional Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My purpose and mission in what I support legislatively are always to hold to a few non-negotiable standards. And those are: That we do not enlarge the purpose and powers of the government. That we do not infringe upon or in any way abridge the constitutionally secured rights of individuals. That we honor God and His role in government by never assuming that He is not in control, or by disparaging those God-given, and therefore, unalienable rights. That we hold to our values and the moral fiber woven throughout Tennessee to protect the interests of families and the sanctity of life. That we never give a foothold to tyranny, outside interests, or powers that seek to undermine the integrity of our constitution, our state sovereignty, and our ability to self-govern.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, (((shall not be infringed))). (emphasis added) The best way to provide for public safety is to allow law-abiding citizens to practice their constitutionally-secured rights. I believe in full constitutional carry. I am against gun-free zones. I believe that property owners who deny rights to citizens to carry on-premise should be held liable for damages due to the illegal actions of others.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
