QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Protect the life of the mother
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
As a surgeon who has performed 35 autopsies and am trained in anesthesia, I recognized this issue to be problematic, particularly in this current time, and also as a committed Christian this issue is even more problematic, therefore I would struggle supporting this issue while also recognizing the diemma.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I am unqualified to speak in specifics regarding this subject, however I have paid taxes long enough to know there are, and have always been, questionable codes within that system, and I would support any effort to normalize recognized disparities, and I can only hope that one vote can make a difference.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I can provide expertise regarding the gross over-spending that has been taking place in the ineffective efforts to improve the Quality of Care and Patient Safety regarding the Healthcare Delivery System (doctors & hospitals). The waste during the past 3 decades and more has been unbelievable.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
Vast amounts of money has been wasted in supporting higher education, i.e., financial support to Ivy League Schools, etc. I would be in favor of financial support to higher education, but not before the current support is clearly reviewed in detail.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Individuals have rights, and have always had rights in the America I have always known.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Welcome to a slippery slope. The recognition of a "religious entity" has always had the substance of fog, but government authority over "churches", particularly in the current, bitterly polarized atmosphere we are faced with, such efforts would prove to be inflammatory.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
None of the above! Our Nation's greatest failure is, and has been, the colossal negligence demonstrated by allowing the greatest social responsibility, the Healthcare Delivery System, and how to pay for HC after-the-fact to evolve in such a mismanaged manner. Everything about how our Healthcare System has been allowed to develop has been wrong, and I can prove it.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated how federal agencies got the cart before the horse by mandating vaccinations long before having the ability to demonstrate their effectiveness, yet the degree of urgency demanded such. Now there is far more data available, and that data has not been given impartial consideration. Long-standing lockdowns, and mask mandates have been mismanaged, and natural immunity basically ignored.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
I believe the use of the word "eradicate" destroys the premise of your question. The 2 Islamic sects seek to destroy each other, and every other non-believer, therefore non-Islamic nations can only strive to deter, whenever, and however possible, their terroristic intent.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I have visited Israel, Jordan (Petra), and Egypt (Cairo & Memphis) and I have seen first-hand the difference between how the people of Israel have existed and prospered in a hostile land, and how others have left their populations to live. There can never be "full equality" as long as the young of one population are taught to hate.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The stark contrast between the previous administration, and the current one speaks volumes. My one year of Air Force navigational training took place at Harlingen AFB Texas, a few miles north of Brownsville, and the mouth of the Rio Grande River, but in 1953-54. The Biden Administration is ignoring every immigration law on the books, and our Nation will pay an enormous price for that folly.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who qualify under those immigration laws that existed prior to the current unlawful disgrace.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Healthcare is my area of expertise, but I do believe that there are clearly evident efforts that are leading to the destruction of "education" as I knew it in times past, including the distortion of the true history of our Nation's founding, and development.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Read the list of civilized benefits that stem from Judeo-Christian values, including education, and healthcare systems, etc., and then factor in the fact that slavery has only been made unlawful in Western-Christian societies led by William Wilberforce, and others in England and America. The distortion of "slavery" for political gain can only take place by ignoring Christian-led progress.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Only IF gender is limited to male & female.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Disagree
Legally sanctioned gay-marriages have long made this question mute.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
America was once the largest melting-pot nation on earth, and future generations will pay a great price due to the current distortion of factual history. NO person has the right to judge me to be a "racist" merely due to the color of my skin, and those who think they have that right demonstrate their ignorance.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, but that said, I am a highly flawed, daily-work-in-progress Christian, and due to my faith I enjoy the constant peace that only such faith can provide.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Keep it simple! IF you cannot board a commercial airplane, and other similar activities without photo identification as demanded by "law" then why is it asking too much for the right to vote? Every state and local government that supports such a requirement has made it clear that provisions will be available to see that everyone who needs help in securing such documentation will receive such help.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Each qualified individual's right to vote should be considered scared, and made secure, and NO individual unqualified to vote should be allowed to dilute the value of any vote by qualified voters. The current efforts to devalue voter qualification for political gain is a disgrace.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism has been a "domestic", and "political" threat to civilized societies throughout history, but far more worrisome currently is what I consider to be false-racism, and the far too easy use of the "racist" label. Both God and Lincoln said, "A house divided cannot stand." I believe our Nation has been redirected down a dark path that can only lead to disaster.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Every individual legally qualified to be considered a citizen of this Nation should consider that privilege sufficient.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Whenever any critical issue becomes dominated by one side of all consideration for that issue, every attempt toward cogent dialogue is thwarted. I do believe current environmental efforts are too drastic, and are doing far too much harm to our economy, but cooler heads cannot be found regarding this issue.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
The enormous difference between the past administration and the current one speaks for itself regarding this issue. Our Nation's economy is being destroyed by the current administration
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
ALL governments, at every level, are still seeking to better determine their need to exist. But its not the governments fault, the fault lies with the humans who actively attempt to administer those "governments". All humans are flawed, therefore all governments are flawed, and those flaws come in two forms, overreach and under-reach. No government without humans, and humans sooner or later over-govern.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
In today's political polarization I say Conservative, based upon my Christian faith, but I am not a babble-head who will willfully follow any thinking.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I could not be more transparent; read my 4 books on Your & Your Loved One's Healthcare Delivery System (doctors & hospitals). What people should wonder is why have I been so marginalized by all of the experts who have been seeking ways to improve the Quality of Care and Patient Safety. Reason: I know what has always been missing in all of their efforts for the past 3 decades.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
NO
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
IF anyone is interested in someday having a far better Healthcare Delivery System they should seek me out and support my efforts.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
YES! Consistent with departmental policy, what more can you ask of someone who is expected to run toward danger?
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Do that and see what you end up with. Our Nation has been unable to create even a semi-functional system for how to properly and fairly deal with the mentally ill, and no, I do not have the answer.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support the 2nd amendment. This is a strange question considering the number of far-left DA's in major cities who have become the best friends to every form of criminality in their cities. What was "normal-life" in multiple major cities has been destroyed, and citizens who feel the need to arm themselves somehow are now considered dangerous.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
Should that be the best recourse for the many, many victims currently suffering harm, and for some death in almost every major city in the Nation? Only God can help any Nation that thinks that civil litigation might be the answer for gun violence.
