QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To prevent the death of the mother, in cases of incest committed against a minor, and in reported cases of forcible rape. In the latter two cases this needs to take place within the first month.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
Laws that do allow this should be clearly written so that other interest parties can not coerce the individual's decision. Also, certain illnesses and conditions should be elaborated on to prevent abuse. These are complex laws and need to be treated as such.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
We need to eliminate Nevada's Commerce Tax. • Small businesses will not prosper by paying a Commerce Tax that punishes companies who are self-contained in Nevada. Multi-state companies get to shift revenue out of the state and avoid this Tax!
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Nevada's Budget is required to be balanced. Nevada should establish separate rainy day funds for all of its critical services such as Public Safety and Education. In the event of the need to cut funding, the first reductions should be in legislative compensation.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayers should only pay for K-12 education. Individuals should be responsible for their decisions to seek higher education or job-related skills training.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The right to Religious Freedom is a foundation of our country and state.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
They should not be able to close any church under any circumstances, other than immediate danger. That decision should be left under the privy of the individual churches. When the government is allowed to do this then government becomes the church!
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. However, Nevada needs to reform our restrictive licensing laws and allow practicing doctors and nurses in other states to come to Nevada and start working immediately without punishing them with outdated regulations! Other states honor the Multistate Compact so that no additional licensing and fingerprinting are required, provided they are in good standing in another Compact state. Additionally, Nevada needs to encourage doctors and nurses to come to our state by adopting sensible Medical No-Fault laws! Health Insurance is a financial tool to prevent individuals from causing catastrophic damage to their personal finances. We should encourage the return of catastrophic health insurance plans in Nevada.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccines for K-12 schools should only be required where there are long-term validated studies on their effectiveness in preventing disabling diseases and where the risk to the students is clearly established as well. Government should not be able to require vaccinations. Employers are in charge of their own business.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The United States should ban the issuance of immigration and travel Visas from all countries supporting Islamic terrorism.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
We can not be a strong country without enforcing our immigration laws. We must prevent the flow of human and drug trafficking currently rampant on the southern border. We also need to strongly enforce our travel and H1B1 visa programs to prevent abuse of this system. Our immigration system is not broken contrary to the political talking points what is broken is our enforcement of Title 8 of the US Code.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
All those individuals that are enumerated under Title 8 of the U.S. Code "Aliens and Nationality."
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Nevada needs to focus immediately on solid foundational curriculums in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics until 75% proficiency is reached in all K- 4 schools, not just a few. K-12 schools should focus on foundational learning 80% of the time. With the additional time added to the school year to address remedial learning needs! Parents and teachers, not politicians or school districts, know what their children need. Nevada’s youth need to receive a solid foundation.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
It is already protected under our existing laws.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Neutral
Any State government can alter this rule if the citizens of that state agree.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
The United States is not fundamentally racist! CRT is based on Marxist philosophy and was developed due to the fact that economic issues were not working to divide the country and thus allow for the establishment of a Marxist State. CRT is the attempt to divide the country by promoting racism.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have solid Christian beliefs. My values are based on traditional American ideas and personal responsibility.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
All persons have free access to State-issued IDs and we need to secure our most sacred right to vote.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I believe we need to continue to hold our elections, in Nevada, with in-person early voting requiring identification. Voter rolls should be purged by using the USPS move database as well as death records. Mail-in voting should be by request only with valid reasons presented. Voting machines should not be connected to the Internet and a paper record should be available to the voter for confirmation that their vote was accurately captured. Spot audits should be performed to check the accuracy of the final vote.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
It can be if we allow racist organizations to commit violence that is unchecked. Organizations such as KKK and BLM need to be monitored just as do the many other fringe groups that exist in the USA.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Environmental laws need to strike a balance between protecting the environment and destroying the livelihoods of the people in the areas affected.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
As long as it is clearly demonstrated to not imperil or cause safety issues for those living in the area where fracking takes place.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The Tenth Amendment declares, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." In other words, states have all powers not granted to the federal government by the Constitution. States must take responsibility for areas such as safeguarding the ownership of property, education, public safety, maintaining a justice system, maintaining local governments such as counties and municipalities, maintaining state highways, setting up the means of administrating local roads, establishing corporate laws and business regulations, and maintaining the infrastructure for energy and water.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am best described as a Ronald Reagan Conservative with strong American Values.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Did not answer
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My Legislative Agenda and Priorities are as follows: Improving Nevada's Educational System and returning to the Basics until 75% achievement levels are reached in all schools. Providing school choice and protecting Parents' Rights. Health and Healthcare We must increase the number of qualified doctors and nurses moving to Nevada! The healthcare score for Nevada in 2020 by the Commonwealth Fund ranked our state as 49th in the nation! We cannot protect our citizens unless we make a change! Prosperity and Jobs Nevada needs Skilled Labor and Small Business Growth! Only 60% of those who can work are working. Training and labor development is a must and we cannot continue to pay people who will not work full-time. In addition, taxes are punishing the small businesses that are trying to regain footing after Covid. The Solution Election Integrity Taxes - On President Reagan’s birthday, Tim became the first candidate for Nevada Senate District 16 to sign the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”. 2nd Amendment Rights- The present situation in Ukraine and the crime erupting in our cities is a stark reminder of the importance of our 2nd Amendment rights! Stop Racism and Protect Life - We must defeat the November Initiative disguised as the “Equality of Rights 2022 Amendment”. This Amendment to the Nevada Constitution may require the teaching of CRT and allow for publicly funded abortions. Nevada passed the Equal Rights Amendment in 2017 so don’t let them fool us with this effort! We are seeing the destruction of women’s sports going on in this country and internationally. Let’s protect women in Nevada!
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Current restrictions in Nevada are adequate.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
