QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortions should be allowed under drastic measures of life and death for the mother. If a woman's pregnancy has led to the possibility that she will die as a result of pregnancy or if the mother is violently raped or becomes pregnant as the result of incest, exceptions must be made. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control. Abortion is a symptom of a problem in our country. Life is not cherished and valued as it once was, love and respect are missing. This is being seen in every aspect of our lives. We need to instill basic values back into our country.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
People should be free to worship whoever and whatever they wish to worship.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
I am not naive to believe that people will do the right thing and treat everyone with respect (like they should). However, as a business owner, I would never let someone force me to work for a client who disrespects me. I am against discrimination of anyone for any reason. I am for freedom. People should be able to choose where they shop or get services from and business owners should be free to provide services to the clients they want to work for.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The relationship between church and state should be universal respect. I stand behind In God We Trust, The Star-Spangled Banner, and the Pledge of Allegiance. I believe teams and students should be free to pray anywhere they want as long as they don't disrupt others. I feel that religious clubs are positive groups for children to be involved with before or after school. Religion should not be taught in public school and the government should not weigh in on religious matters either.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
Every foreign policy situation is different and needs to be considered. I do believe in protecting the innocent and the importance of maintaining peace around the world. I do not believe in getting involved at the risk of endangering Americans. Our people in our country need to be our priority.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Choose not to answer
I don't have enough information to answer this intelligently and I would need to research this further.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
Clearly the Chinese are motivated and driven by progress. This attitude and their actions should never be taken lightly. We need to bring our businesses home as well as the production of our medications and crucial commodities that the Chinese have been providing. We need to be independent on every front to ensure that not only we will be safe, but that we can thrive to achieve a vibrant economy.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Finish securing the border to start, continue to gain intelligence, continue to bolster our military intelligence and talent, and closely monitor activity to protect our country.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Under no circumstances should people be required to get a vaccination.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. Most closely matches my view but the existing programs need to be bolstered and protected. They should never be subject to shifting funds as they are currently. The elderly, Veterans, disabled and the poor should be cared for by way of a sizeable tax reduction to offset and assist with their healthcare and living expenses in their twilight years.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Disagree
Equal education and opportunities need to be made available for all Americans. By redistributing income you diminish motivation and entrepreneurial spirit as you reduce the reward and excitement of reaching incredible levels of success. However we need to insure that all people from all walks of life are receiving the same opportunities for education, services and employment opportunities.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
Yes our Government should spend less. We need to hold people accountable for being fiscally responsible in Congress. Not only is spending something that we need to be focused on, but prioritizing the needs of this nation and eliminating the corruption within state administrations and the federal government. We do not have a chance at being financially responsible if we have corruption within the system.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
First and foremost our taxes need to be simplified, the language needs to be plain for anyone to complete their own income taxes. This question requires volumes of text as there are too many to list Call me 908-310-4770.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
The US border needs to be secure. We have an open vulnerability that needs to be closed. Additionally, our immigration system needs to be revamped so people seeking citizenship arent waiting 10-15 years for action. We need to ensure the safety of our current citizens, create a path to citizenship for the illegal citizens and set realistic expectations for people who seek citizenship.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
First, we need to fix the broken system that we now have. After they have completed the required application and have been properly vetted there should be a generous annual intake of immigrants permitted to our country. Please note, PROPERLY VETTED.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Verification of mental stability needs to remain intact and gun safety must be a part of the process.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
The weapon is not the source of the problem.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Dorlon For Congress on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram hold news articles and photos about my run in this district as the only true Representative who has worked and lived in the district for 51 years.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No. I have not been convicted of a felony or other civil or criminal court or sexual misconduct.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am not a career politician and I believe in term limits. I have a bachelor's degree in political science. My life's work has been bringing people's ideas and dreams to life. My experience as a public servant, a business owner, a father, son, coach, youth minister, and farm owner in this district for 51 years will serve me well. I am not afraid of a challenge or of hard work. As a builder, my life’s work has been bringing people's dreams to reality and that is exactly what I intend to do in Congress; analyze the issues, and bring the best people together to create solutions for the problem (not treat the symptoms), hold myself accountable to produce quality results on time and under budget. That is what I do. I write involved contracts, read difficult prints and calculate cost/benefit analysis. I negotiate successfully every day with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. I bring professionals together to turn people's ideas into reality. With the recent infrastructure bill, I will be a substantial asset to those committees as I understand the logistics, budgets, and timelines. I can read the plans and I know the costs that are involved. This bill needs oversight to ensure that the people will not be paying $80 for a hammer (for example). I have no personal agenda. My primary goals to accomplish are that of the people in my district. I will set up county focus groups after I win the primary to learn what are the most important things for our people. I am not in this for me. My #1 goal is to be heard in Congress with simple legislation that puts my district's interests first. After aligning myself with the best professionals we will turn our solutions into actionable legislation to benefit and enhance our communities. Public Safety including secure borders, government overreach, healthcare, and energy independence are topics that I think are crucial. As Americans, we depend on being safe, free, and healthy. Without these basic rights, we can’t enjoy life with our families and loved ones and we cannot thrive. In January there will likely be different concerns for our nation and I will have the flexibility to focus on those needs. I will be developing focus groups of regular citizens, in each County to discuss the issues to be presented to Congress that are of utmost importance to my district. I am running for Congress for Family and Freedom. I am out-spoken and well-spoken and I will be a driving force for the people of New Jersey District 7! Please Vote for me on June 7 a true Representative of the people!
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe Our Lord has provided a proper map to treating each other with respect and love. Somehow along the way, we have lost an appreciation for spiritual guidance in Christian principles and so, we have lost respect for life and we have lost respect for each other. We need to bring God back into our society and treat others the way we would wish to be treated. When I say bring God back I don't mean by preaching to others or by pushing religious beliefs and practices on others. I intend to let others see God through me and having that ripple through our society. So that faith becomes valued again (no matter what someone's faith is). The fundamentals of caring for each other have got to make a comeback.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Without election integrity, we have doubt, untrust, and unrest. We need to assure the voters that their vote is valuable, it counts and that they can trust in the electoral system.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
In-person voting needs to be reinstituted. Mail-in ballots would be for exceptions only, not a regular option/practice. Also, instant results would remove the potential for nefarious corruption. The votes should be tallied on the day of the election and announced. Delaying results for days and weeks simply provides a means to cheating.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No, racism is not a threat to domestic security in the United States. Racism is taught and that is what we need to change as a country. The media fuels this fire and they do it to boost ratings. SHOCK NEWS SELLS. The narrative needs to change. As long as we have people pointing out differences like it's a bad thing instead of embracing them and celebrating the differences like it's a good thing we will have this issue. This beautiful country is not inherently racist. In fact, I see people every day treat each other with complete respect, kindness, and concern. It is the tiny percentage of rogue players that steal the headlines because of the media hype and constant pushing of a hate-filled narrative. If we provide all our citizens with an excellent education, services, and job opportunities people will find happiness. After all, when it comes down to it most people just want to raise their family, or have success in their careers and have the freedom to live safely and peacefully with their friends and family. If we focus on raising the whole boat with everyone in it - we can eliminate racism.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
The comment stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy is most closely related to my views.
