QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
I believe fundamentally in an individual's right to self-determination. In the case of pregnancy, however, two individuals are involved. The unborn individual is dependent on the other for everything, including her choice to continue her pregnancy. Abortion is a regrettable thing, but government coercion against individual free-will is worse. I oppose late-term abortion, which in the case of a viable fetus is essentially infanticide. From conception, human life must be protected from assault.
What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?
Unbiased counseling and medical services.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Charity is a proper act of private individuals and organizations, with their own time or money.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Government funding through high school graduation is a public good and should continue, although not exclusively to a government school monopoly. School choice by students and parents is imperative. Any government funding subsidies for post-secondary education are at the pleasure of the voters and their state representatives.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Disagree
I believe the concept of "separation of church and state" has been taken too far. Religion is an important part of many people's lives and of our nation's history. The major religions should be explained, fairly and objectively, and without censorship.
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects an individual right to speech. It is perhaps the most fundamental of all human rights.
Teachers should be required to instruct students on mandated curriculum even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Just as individuals are free to speak their mind, they must never be compelled to speak in contravention of their beliefs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, Israel is an important U.S. ally as are all Western liberal democracies. All nations whose government respects individual rights deserve our friendship and assistance.
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
Throughout human history, weakness has invited aggression. At the same time, it is important to clearly express the moral values which guide the use of military force. The tradition of Western Civilization is that force is used in defense against aggression, either against our country or an ally.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
Both the control and funding of education can and should be responsibilities of the several states. A federal government bureaucracy is wasteful and has potential to be harmful to individual rights.
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
School choice is a fundamental right in a free country.
Which type of written parental consent should be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE)? (A) Opt-In. (B) Opt-Out. (C) None.
Opt-in. Parents are the final authority on the education of their minor children, not schools.
Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Disagree
These resources are not appropriate in the school for minor students.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning
Civics, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, American History, Physical Fitness, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Personal Finances, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning, Information Technology
VALUES
Children have the right to be protected from sexual grooming including drag shows, explicit materials in schools and libraries, and other public venues.
Strongly Agree
Children are not prepared to process these experiences and are susceptible to confusion by them, possibly resulting in lasting emotional harm.
Marriage between one man and one woman and the families they form are the foundation of civilization and are fundamental to the well-being and prosperity of society.
Neutral
The nuclear family is my personal preference, as I believe is also true for the the majority of humankind, but consenting adults who choose otherwise are not a threat to the well-being and prosperity of society.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
In the absence of adjudicated parental abuse, parental rights are supreme.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I will sacrifice myself for no man, nor ask any to sacrifice himself for me.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
The principle of one person, one vote, requires that every valid voter's identification is verified.
EQUALITY
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Disagree
I support diversity and inclusion, but not the inherently discriminatory social engineering concept of "equity." Instead, I believe in equality and the absence of discrimination of any kind.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
