QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should be allowed in very early days under rape or incest.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

I think that each individual is responsible for their livable income. When people become dependent on government to provide income, we tend to stop working for ourselves and aren't motivated to make changes that we need to improve our lives.

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I have been grateful for the public education (K-12) that i have received and that my children have received. I am worried about the current funding structure and I would like to see public education stay neutral in the political realm. If the funding structure is the reason for politicalization of our schools, I would like to visit that as a School Board member and see where changes could be made. I would like public schools to stay focused on academics and other subjects like art, music, math, health, science and history. I think public money needs to be used for the benefit of all students. I don't think that the government should pay for college education. I think College education is one option out of many options of post high school education. It would be nice to see college tuition come down in cost.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.

Disagree

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

Agree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

EDUCATION

Every state should mandate K-12 standardized tests and the use of teaching software which aligns with Common Core standards.

Strongly Disagree

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Strongly Agree

Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.

Strongly Agree

I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.

Strongly Disagree

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God and in Jesus Christ. I believe that when we live by certain values it make our lives easier- hard work, honesty, integrity, personal improvement, service to others, remember that everyone can learn and has worth and value, maintain a growth mindset, responsibility and personal accountability.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.

Strongly Agree

Parents need to be the first to know about any health treatment or diagnosis about their child/children.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

None

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What books have had the most profound impact on your view of life?

How to hug a porcupine by John Lund. This book helped me understand my role in making my own decisions even if others are provoking me to respond negatively. The Ultramind Solution by Mark Hyman. This brought me into the Functional Medicine space of understanding health. I love understanding the body and how to heal it from diseases and discomfort. There are so many more books to be added to this one. A Mind of Your Own and Own Yourself by Kelly Brogan. This has helped me understand how to deal with anxiety and depression. 12 Rules for Life by Jordan B. Peterson. Jordan B Peterson is such a profound person today. He has helped me find words to express ideas that I hadn't been able to express in the past. The Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. These books help me spiritually everyday.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

As a State School board member, I would like to be a voice for upholding policies that hold family and parents as the first and primary caretakers of their children. I would uphold policy that reduces the use of technology in the classroom. I would like to see the teacher environment improve in the schools. I would like to see teachers salaries improve and be rewarded for exceptional work. I would like to keep schools free from political involvement and be a space for all who live and attend the schools to be supported academically.

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2012 General Election 2014 General Election 2016 Republican Primary 2016 General Election 2018 Republican Primary 2018 General Election 2020 Republican Primary 2020 General Election

2ND AMENDMENT

Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.

Agree

I am a concealed carry permit holder and believe in our right to protect ourselves. I think we can do better at protecting our schools and should put policies in place to do so.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Do you support mandatory vaccinations for children attending public school?

I do not support any mandatory vaccination for children attending public schools. I believe that every parent can choose that for their children.

I support mask mandates.

Strongly Disagree

I think that a mask mandate in the situation of COVID was not helpful. It didn't decrease the spread. I think kids should see faces at school. I do think that we should be aware of all the risks involved in health situations. I can see that during an emergency- schools would want to be cautious in all situations and not make matters worse. But when an emergency is lasting longer than 30-60 days, it no longer an emergency and mandates should be viewed as a long term solutions.
