QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
When the mothers life is in danger
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Repeal of Act 388 would be preferred Lower business tax burden in SC Goal would be to eliminate state income tax
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
DHEC could be subbed out to private companies to drive a competitive environment
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I don’t believe in forcing any vaccinations. If a person is truly taking a vaccination then I’m unclear how someone not taking one puts others at risks. The medical field is not my expertise but I don’t believe government should have control over my body. An employer such as a lifeguard or healthcare provider I believe should have the ability to state certain requirements if need be if it is putting the company in a liable situation. The Covid 19 vaccinations were not proven to truly be a vaccine so they are different from others. It is certainly a difficult balance between individual and company rights in these situations and I believe it has to be looked at on a case by case basis but I don’t believe government should have control over anyones body.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Terrorism in general should be treated as treason and the penalties should be as such.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
I can have a feeling about something being just or right but I believe America should focus on America and not everywhere else across the globe. I also don’t know enough about BDS to say if it is good or bad. What I am reading is that we should tell another country what to do and that I don’t agree with for the most part
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The border should be secure but there should be a faster path to citizenship.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I don’t have an issue with immigration so long as it is legal. America was founded by immigrants.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Agree
I agree so long as public and private schools are held to the same standards
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Christian as Jesus taught. I’m not here to judge anyone and realize we are all broken and Christian’s simple strive to become more Christ like but will always fall short.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I believe early voting is fine so long as identity is confirmed and we can prove there are not duplicate votes. I believe a print/electronic system should work as one to secure against any electronic contamination.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I don’t believe so. We are not the country that we were in 60’s and are more of a melting pot. If there are groups that are plotting a terrorist attack based on race, they should be treated as any other terrorist. I believe there has been a push to redefine the word racism and that worries me.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I agree with A and B to an extent. Both are extreme views in my opinion but have truth to each statement. I don’t want to over regulate but I don’t want for companies to poison an area either. It would be great if everyone would realize regulations cost everyone more but also that many are there due to poor actions of companies acting responsibly.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Choose not to answer
I’m not familiar enough with pros and cons of fracking. If proven safe, I don’t have a problem with it but honestly don’t know enough about it to feel one way or another at this point
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Protect the right to Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
I consider myself conservative in the fact that I want less government. It depends on who is defining the terms above. As an example, some religions don’t believe in birth control at all. They say they are conservative. I am pro life but have no problem with birth control. If that makes sense.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Not sure what is out there. I don’t Google myself.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I want less government, more transparency, and our elected members to approach elected positions with a servant mindset as opposed to a career.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I believe if they commit a crime, they should be punished. I don’t believe they should be caught up in litigation over actions.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
I have no problem with mental health professionals being part of a department but I don’t believe in defunding the police. We need to ensure our law enforcement officers have all tools in their tool belt to return safely to their families each night
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The only one I agree with is violent offenders loose their second amendment. Anyone that has lost that right and violates it should be punished to the fullest extent of the law
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
The gun maker didn’t commit the crime.
