QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only in case of danger to mother's life, incest, or rape.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Reduce federal income tax. One possibility to examine would be that individuals making under 70k should have federal income tax reduced to 10%. Joint income families making under 100k should have fed income tax reduced to 10%

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Federal subsidies should be looked at as should the bureaucracy of our federal agencies. We need to look for ways for our government to be more efficient.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

Businesses should provide their services to all individuals. No one should be discriminated against in any form or fashion. For example, I would not want someone to discriminate against me if they felt my Christian views offended their religion, morals or worldview. Unfortunately, anyone could claim "offense" to providing a service to those they disagree with under the guise of wanting to discriminate, therefore we must protect all people from discrimination.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under no circumstance.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

B. Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Organizations should be able to require vaccinations and I am thinking of diseases in our past like small pox, polio, TB, etc., with personal exemptions allowed and permitted free of condemnation.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

We should be working to establish positive relations with those nations that harbor such ideology to try to reduce this threat, if even possible.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

First and foremost, we need to have a strong, secure border for our National Security. Also, undocumented workers maybe subject to exploitation for low wages and their status is held against them not allowing them to file a complaint thus, they are trapped. We can not allow individuals to take advantage of illegal immigrants in this fashion, therefore we must have a secure border not only for our own National Security, but also to prevent the exploitation of workers.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone should be allowed to immigrate to the US. We should also work on a more efficient means at vetting their background that would provide a path for citizenship in a quick and timely manner.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I support academic transparency and the right of school choice in the form of tax credits, vouchers and charter schools, private schools and home schools. The one size fits all model of education should adapt and change.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

I need more information on this one, but I will not participate in any discrimination against anyone, even If I disagree with a lifestyle.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Neutral

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

At its worst, CRT can promote undue victimization and work to debilitate the human spirit, and that's why I am in favor of other theories and historiographies that can be used to discuss topics in the humanities and social sciences.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I accepted Christ as my Lord & Savior as a small child and was raised in a raised in a Bible believing church through high school. Since then I have actively looked to attend churches during my military service and civilian life. I currently attend Red Rocks Church in Denver, CO. I do believe Christ died on the cross for our sins and only through Him can one be forgiven and redeemed.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Voter ID required. Voter registration and signatures for mail in or drop off is certified and verified. I do believe if someone does not have a valid ID or is not able to afford a valid voter ID, one should be provided for them at state's expense, but they must be legally registered and have an ID to vote. I would also propose an election holiday so all people could vote, as some work 10-12-14 hours and can not make it to vote in places where they must vote in person.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to a lot of things including our church family as it causes the break down of our social structure as we have seen in our history. We must always look to stamp out racism in any form.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

I think the time has passed for reparations to be implemented, but I am willing to listen to this conversation. President Reagan certainly did when he awarded reparations to those Japanese Americans who were subjected to Internment Camps during WWII. (Civil Liberties Act of 1988).

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

B. Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. We can can use all energies including oil & gas while also working to protect God's creation.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To provide for justice, defense, liberty and freedom

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

I am somewhere between moderate and conservative as a I try to be very objective and see the whole picture That said, I could see how a very conservative person would read my answers and view me as moderate and of course, a very liberal person might say I am very conservative.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I have not had any interviews as of yet.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

no

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I wish to serve the 61st district where I will work to put the needs of the people first. In doing so, my legislative priorities are simple and straight forward. I will make it a priority to ensure that our police officers and law enforcement have the resources necessary to do their job and that includes both training and manpower. These men and women put their lives on the line for each of us every day, and now, more than ever, they need our support, and that includes increased funding to help with training so they can be better equipped to do their jobs to the best of their ability. I will work to protect entrepreneurs and small businesses by ensuring that they receive the support they need in the form of lower taxes and reduced fees so they can rebuild what they lost during the pandemic. The small businessperson is the heart and soul of the American Dream, and I'm committed to introducing legislation that will encourage business growth and business opportunity for all people. I will also make it a priority to support energy independence through a well-rounded approach utilizing oil, gas, solar and wind energies. As a lifelong educator, I know the importance of encouraging and having parental involvement in the education of their children. It’s something we know helps our children, of all ages, stay engaged in the learning process, which in-turn, results in motivation and higher learning. In addition to advocating for better teacher pay, I will work to protect parents' rights to know what is occurring in the classroom with their students and provide input in the curriculum to their child's school district. Transparency must exist in all facets of the communication process. We know that school choice is widely supported and as such, I will support the parent’s right to school choice as that undoubtedly works to enhance competition amongst all schools and institutions. I absolutely believe and support the concept of environmental stewardship and conservation. We must work to protect our planet and that includes water. Water is a scarce resource in Colorado and without it, we cannot meet the continued demands of an ever-growing state. It is vital that we work in a bipartisan manner through legislation, awareness and collaboration with the government and private sectors to find meaningful and lasting solutions to address our water needs for all of Colorado. Finally, I am running because I want to serve you. While I may be new to politics, I am not new to upholding the constitution because it's the oath I took many years ago. I believe that is what our Founders envisioned. That people of all walks of life would participate in civic engagement to serve our fellow Americans. I'm asking for your support, in time and finances, in order to protect our Republic and work together to make HD61 an amazing place for everyone to live!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Neutral

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Our police need our support through increased funds, training and manpower.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

No restrictions. In Colorado we already have enough.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
