I was a NO vote that fateful day of 8/3/2010 when the CO State Board voted 4/3 to adopt the National Common Core Standards. We need to go back to the Colorado Model content standards that focused on the basics, the 3 R's, factual history and had no political agenda or indoctrination embedded. Assessments should be used during the school year to drive instruction and assist in mastery of content.
