RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Abortion proponents speak of privacy and decisions about a woman's body being personal. The public's taxpayers should not be involved in their personal and private decisions.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
A close relative chose euthanasia and I understand their decision. I've read where a Canadian veteran sought life support help from the country's VA and was told that suicide was an option. I wouldn't want bureaucrats offering suicide or euthanasia as a treatment option for people they've decided have no worth.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To save the life of the mother, rape or forced incest. It should not be used as a method of birth control.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Disagree
This reeks of Communism and state control over the distribution of wealth. "Lessening the gap" is Communism terminology and promotes class warfare.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
The now $97 billion to Ukraine is insane. So is the US's overall spending on foreign aid. Our money should remain home to benefit Americans.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I would consider a discussion around a flat tax with limited but well defined deductions.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Americans, individually, must have the right to live according to their faith without government interference.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
I don't believe a Sunni Muslim merchant should be allowed to tell a Shia Muslim customer to leave their business simply because of their faith. I don't believe a cake maker who finds pornography disgusting should be required to include pornographic art on a cake if it offends them. I don't believe a Hindu or Muslilm physician working in an American hospital should be authorized to reject treating a Christian.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Registration of religious organization names and corporate filings with the Secretary of State and IRS. Enforcement of grant agreements if the church or religious organization is a subrecipient of federal or state grant dollars. Investigations of crimes on church property. Enforcement of 501.c3 non-profit laws.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. Every person has a right to choose not to be injected.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
In Ohio our General Assembly has enacted Section 749.01 of the Revised Code. It authorizes city councils to levy a 1 mill property tax, $50 a year on a $50,000 home, to fund free municipal hospitals. The federal Hill Burton Act of 1946 provided for the construction of free hospitals. Under a municipal-run health care system costs are contained because the healthcare workers are city employees. Value is added to hiring residents of cities with municipal-run healthcare systems because it removes the burden from an employer. Employers will want to relocate to cities with free healthcare systems as a cost savings opportunity. It was under a municipal healthcare system that physicians made house calls. I would support Congressional funding to bolster municipal health care; and to achieve goals like adding physicians to EMS squads.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
(D) From 1800 until the 1900's Americans remained out of foreign conflicts unless our direct interests were involved. Our wars were either domestic or in response to direct border northern and southern border threats. After the 1900's we have been dragged into the foreign conflicts of Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Israel as immigrants from those nations have arrived here and brought their "back home" conflicts with them. This was a problem identified by President Woodrow Wilson in his 1919 State of the Union Address. There are now many members of Congress who have immigrant backgrounds; and each of them has a "back home" interest they're addressing that have nothing to do with America. Loyalties are divided. As an American with ancestors who are indigenous to this land, and those who were kidnapped in Africa and brought here in bondage, my interests are in this nation's inhabitants ... exclusively.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Neutral
I support the Tripartite Agreement President Harry Truman signed in 1948. It was enforced throughout his and President David Dwight Eisenhower's administrations. It was ignored by Vice President Lyndon Johnson as a result of his backdoor relationship with Israel behind President John Fitzgerald Kennedy's back. He armed Israel after Kennedy's assassination. By 1968 the Israel Defense Forces were slaughtering 34 US sailors and wounding 171 aboard the USS Liberty.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Currently, 1.7 million foreign students are enrolled in US colleges and universities. Some have been overrun by foreigners like those at Case Western Reserve University where the 2024 graduating class is 53% foreign. Over 300,000 of the 1.7 million are from Communist China. At Cleveland State University its board appointed the head of the Confucius Institute to the job of provost and let an H1B visa worker hire 200 faculty. Many from China. We have been infiltrated.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We should return to our pre-1948 perspective about the Middle East and leave them to their own affairs. Missiles killing Middle Easterners should not have "Made In the USA" labels on them.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Democrats voted for 87,000 IRS agents. As a former Texas resident serving in the United States Air Force, and someone who's crossed the southern border, I would have voted for another 25,000 US Customs agents to secure it.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
I believe sanctuary city elected officials who are violating and refusing to enforce our immigration laws should be criminally prosecuted. I would demand the enforcement of immigration laws in exchange for federal funds. In Ohio section 737.11 of our state Revised Code gives municipal police the authority to enforce federal criminal laws. I would vote to fund an immigration enforcement grant that provides money to local police to visit employers and businesses to arrest and prosecute violators.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I would prefer closing our borders until we deal with our current population of illegal immigrants. No foreign students. No H1B visa workers. No refugees. Our counties, cities, villages and townships are already overwhelmed.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Agree
Sexual orientation is a matter of privacy. Gender identity involves the public. A person's lifestyle choices should not affect where they live and work. What is becoming an issue for some Americans is the lack of acknowledgement of the heterosexual lifestyle and the attack on traditional families. Gay pride month but no heterosexual pride month. Parents believe their pre-pubescent children are being sexualized by their alternative lifestyle adult educators.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Absolute divisive BS. Our institutions are not racist. Americans are not inherently racist. Those of us with roots to the American Revolution have been working out our unique differences, and breeding with each other, since the nation's beginning. Many of those calling America racist are aliens and their descendants who are here illegally and want immigration laws "reformed" to accomodate them. Longer-rooted Americans are supposed to be racist for wanting our immigration laws enforced.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised as a Protestant Christian in the African Methodist Episcopalen Church.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. Voting is a privilege of citizenship and each state has laws determining who is authorized to vote. Non-citizens are not authorized to vote in Ohio. We have duties to prevent unlawful voting in our elections.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I'd vote in Congress for one day voting, photo ID's and paper ballots. I'd eliminate electronic voting. We had higher turnouts with one day voting. I'd vote to ban automatic voter registration to anyone who obtains a drivers license. I'd require aliens to present immigration records to register. I'd require federal workers to validate the election and oath of office credentials of elected officials receiving federal funds. There are elected officials in Ohio who have entered offices in violation of Title 3517.11(D) of Ohio's Revised Code that instructs them not to discharge an office's duties without meeting campaign finance reporting deadlines.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
No. Every Black person or African American is not a descendant of Africans who were enslaved in the United States of America. Native Americans were enslaved. So were English indentured servants. Millions of mixed-race Whites have enslaved African ancestry. Reparations should be reserved for the actual descendants of enslaved Americans. As a Descendant of Enslaved Africans who farmed in Arkansas, I would want the 80 acres of farmland my Grandfather inherited returned.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. The Americans whose families have existed in the US from our nation's founding know each other. We've worked, fought and bred together. We've learned to get along. Foreign influences are convoluting the discussions about race. Chinese, Asian Indians and other races this nation's laws excluded have confiscated the race card and are using it to accuse Americans who want our immigration laws enforced of being racists. They're using it so much it's lost its effect.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
We have energy resources that are needed to maintain American independence.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
(A) Our air, water and soil must be protected. Industries that contaminate them have been and must continue to be regulated by dilligent elected and appointed public officials so we can continue to protect jobs and grow our economy. Far too often it's the corruption of elected officials and bureaucrats that is behind an environmental law violation. In the 11th Congressional District a mayor and council voted to give an unscrupulous contractor access to the site of General Electric's lighting division. He was supposed to ready the land for development. Instead he accepted construction and demolition debris behind residential homes. The mayor allegedly took bribes instead of acts to stop him. Cleveland inspectors who were enforcing its inspection duties with the Ohio EPA identified "fugitive dust" 26 times at the dump site. None bothered to have the fugitive dust tested to learn what toxins it contained. I asked an industrial hygienist to test it and reported the results to the Ohio EPA. They closed it the next day. The Ohio Health Department has not bothered to test the nearby residents, and Collinwood High School students, to learn how breathing deadly benzene filled smoke, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, glass partices and other contaminants affected them. Numerous residents who lived around the dump have been contracting cancers. There is a way to balance the needs of industry and protect the environment that requires enforcement officials to competently discharge their public office's duties. Corruption is our biggest problem with environmental law enforcement. Everybody wants to do their own thing instead of obeying our constitution and laws.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Liberty News
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I intend to resurrect the 11th Congressional District Caucus as an organization that meets weekly. I will attend the meetings when not in Congress. My staff will deliver a higher level of service to the 11th Congressional District's residents when they call the congressional office.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
Police should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct that is consistent with the US Constitution, federal and state laws. I'm a former mayor and safety director. Departmental policies are supposed to be modeled around the protections afforded Americans in constitutions and laws. The duties of municipal police in Ohio are found at Section 737.11 of our state Revised Code. They are to "obey and enforce all the criminal laws of the United States and of the state..."
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
I would support funds for increased police training. Right now in Ohio police receive approximately 740 hours of training compared to the 1500 hours barbers and cosmetologists are required to obtain. I have zero interest in defunding the police. I believe there should be restrictions on their becoming militarized and buying technologies that are not authorized by law. I'm a former mayor and safety director who cut crime by 40 to 75 percent without the violance, chases and abuses.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Weapons training and safety in our schools should be like drivers education. People with mental issues and violent offenders should not be gun owners.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
We don't sue car manufacturers for automobile accidents. We don't sue knife manufacturers for stabbings. We don't sue baseball bat manufacturers for beatings. The person who pulled the trigger is responsible for their own misconduct.
