I was born and raised in the Catholic Church. I am a practicing Catholic and belief and support the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
I do support teaching sexual education in school as part of the health and PE curriculum. I support its teaching, because being an attorney in juvenile court I see too many children that are sexual active at a young age. My mother taught sexual education when she was a health teacher. What was done when she taught and what I believe should be done now is that the parent or guardian had to opt-in to the class before the student could participate. If a parent chose not to opt-in for their child then the child was placed in a health class without sexual education. I believe that middle school is the appropriate age range for this course. I wish it were older, but the reality is that it is not.
