QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest, human trafficking and threat to mother's life.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
However, I will continue to support Florida's current laws which put the decision making in the hands of patients and their families through advance directives and designation of surrogate.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Amend the sales tax on commercial leases. Reducing corporate taxes. Eliminating property taxes for senior citizens at full retirement age.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Spending that pertains to specific groups of businesses or individuals. Reasonable reduction to the size of government.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Tertiary education is not for everyone. Should there be a budget allocated for education it should go to strengthening our K-12 for stronger curriculums, extending the school year, Jr. ROTCs in middle school, vocational programs and raising the pay for teachers.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Private businesses should be able to choose to serve who they want to serve.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
As long as churches are performing within the scope of practices, it should not be closed.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Somewhere between C and D. Plainly government intervention in the healthcare and healthcare insurance markets is the principle cause of problems. There is no reason healthcare should operate differently from any other professional, specialized service, and in fact in those areas relatively untouched by government regulation, such as corrective eye surgery, the free market has caused a dramatic improvement in the quality and effectiveness of such procedures alongside an equally dramatic reduction in price. This should be the model we work toward for all of healthcare.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The fact that anyone contemplates forcing people to be vaccinated against anything is the problem. This is not a power the government should have, and in fact there historically has always been a means of opting-out. If a vaccine proves effective and safe, people will naturally want it on their own, and there will be no need to force anyone. The choice should remain theirs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Steadfastly seek to pursue, disrupt and dismantle the overseas organizations engaged in such terrorism, along with those who fund them.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We should welcome immigrants who support and wish to pursue fundamental Americans principles, starting with individual liberty and the rule of law.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
This is self-evident. Cultures who have embraced tolerance, individual liberty, and rule of law, which are foundational to Judeo-Christian values, have flourished.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Agree
There is no compelling reason for government at any level to be involved in marriage, which is a cultural institution, as opposed to a legal one.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I practice Buddhism's 5 precepts to abstain from taking life, what is not given, sexual misconduct, what is not true, intoxicating the mind that inhibits consciousness. My values include: family, freedom, responsibility, giving back, respect, honesty and integrity.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Absentee/voting by mail has been well understood by all sides as a major vehicle for fraud and shenanigans. Nobody should be able to vote absentee without a strong, valid reason, such as living/being stationed overseas, or having a legitimate medical disability. There is also no reason early voting needs to be available for such a long period of time. I believe it should be shortened to no more than a week.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Generally no, although race relations have deteriorated in recent years due to the emphasis on "equity." If the government were to abandon the notion of groups which get "special protection" and simply focus on prosecuting individual cases of illegal discrimination when they occur, our culture will begin to recover.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
This process has proved safe and minimally invasive.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Protect individual rights
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Interviews on the Mike Essen Show, The Joyce Kaufman Show and with Two Cats Production they can be found on the web, podcast and YouTube respectively.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
My legislative priorities are education and economy.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Violent felons should permanently lose their 2nd Amendment rights. Those who are adjudicated to be mentally or emotionally compromised to the extent they pose a danger to themselves and others likewise should lose their 2nd Amendment right until such time they might demonstrate they no longer pose such a threat.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
