OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

These organizations that do receive taxpayer funds should not be allowed to donate to any political candidate or PAC

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Rape, Incest, Mothers Life Is At Risk and, under certain circumstances, when the father is abusive to the mother and she doesn't have the strength/courage/mental stability to get out of the abusive situation.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

There is so much waste and fraud in government. We could reduce billions and not even know it

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Make higher child credits permanent. Stop taxing social security.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

It is in the 1st amendment for a reason. The phrase "separation of church and state" has been misrepresented by some to keep religious groups from speaking out against the government. That isn't true, it is to prevent the government from trampling on religious rights to worship.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

The Constitution was written to protect individual freedoms, not force collective servitude

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

The government can partner with churches to provide needed charitable services to communities, but they can't dictate what the parameters of those services entail.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Under no circumstances. Of course, choices have consequences, so if travel, education, or private businesses choose to exclude the unvaccinated they should have that right as well.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

B

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

Probably "B" with the exception of troops. When we have made a promise to give military protection to an ally, we need to keep our promises, or loose respect and credibility in the world.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Better vetting of recruitment websites and mosques, students wanting to come here to go to college, and people claiming refugee status

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Either we are a sovereign nation with borders, laws and culture, or we aren't. The human trafficking, drug smuggling and criminal elements coming into our country must be stopped, or we are lost.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Why reward bad behavior

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who have gone through the proper immigration process. Those who can prove they have family who can take care of them without access public welfare services. Those who are able to work and contribute to the economy.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Every situation is unique to the individuals involved, but to to classify someone with greater protections than those afforded every other citizen is creating a class of untouchable citizens that won't be held accountable for crimes they may commit.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that every person needs to be able to walk their own spiritual path and make their own spiritual decisions. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and accept his atonement on my behalf. I also admire and respect those of the many different faith choices available. How we treat our fellow man is much more important than any religion we profess.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Have voting day be a national holiday, and give 24 hours for everyone to get to the polls. If you want to vote by mail, you can request a ballot be sent to your home several weeks before an election. Photo ID should be required every time.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Every race has been treated poorly, enslaved, abused, exploited. Where would you start, and would all circumstances be treated equal and fair. It is an unattainable request, and everyone would qualify.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. When it comes down to it, everyone has individual decisions to make. Either you are going to act out violently against another human being, or you are not. Most crime is committed within the same race as the criminal vs victim. If we make it about race, we ignore the deeper root causes of "domestic security threats."

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

When we are energy independent, we are stronger as a nation.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I have no clue what information is available publicly. My website: Laurelrosesforcongress.com will tell you my views on a variety of social and political issues.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

We have allowed the Congress to become a system of hierarchy elite untouchables. The speech "rules for thee, but not for me" pretty much summed up how far we have allowed our elected representatives to create a class system for themselves. we need term limits NOW! to restore the Peoples House to the People.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

So long as their behavior is in alignment with their training and department protocol, how can we prosecute them after the fact for following what they were trained to do?

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Agree

The defund the police policies of the liberal run cities in the country have resulted in increased crime in the very neighborhoods they were claiming it would help.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Guns aren't unsafe. They are an inanimate object. Guns in the hands of criminals or mentally unstable people are unsafe. The 2nd amendment is very clear "Shall Not Be Infringed." Now, more than ever, we need the ability to defend ourselves and our family and home. Ukraine is teaching us that.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Victims of automobile violence aren't able to sue automobile manufacturers. By focusing on the gun, we ignore the real problem.
