Unfortunately, we do not have a sound scientific basis for consensus as to when individual life begins. I am pro-life (life is precious), and yet I am also pro-choice (my body my choice - but is this only my body). The challenge is when does individual life begin... many believe conception; others say heartbeat; others say viability. Who is correct? Who knows. I believe a heartbeat is evidence of another life, perhaps even conception. Should we not err on the side of life?

Many people think marriage is God-ordained union between a man and a woman, and I tend to agree. But the real issue is whether or not government should get involved. I see marriage as more of a spiritual/religious matter and would like to have the state stay out of it entirely. The state should not define marriage one way or the other. There are only two genders, male and female, and there are very clear differences between the two, including size, strength, and the ability to reproduce. As a society, we males should use our strength to protect women, not to abuse them. This issue is being used to divide and conquer; it has nothing to do with true justice or human rights. We should protect our environment.
