RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape and mother's life is in danger. This is a deeply personal decision that I presume an individual would seek medical and religious counseling before making. I am the beneficiary of adoption. I was lucky to be raised in a home with two loving parents who taught me right from wrong and the value of hard work. I would hope that adoption would always be considered an option.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I would eliminate the income tax and move to a consumption tax.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I think it needs to be across the board. Every government agency will take and spend every dime they can get. There is no incentive for government to be efficient and spend funds wisely.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Many complain about for profit colleges and universities when, if fact, all are making profits. If the government set out to pay for everyone's college, there would be even more business-driven decisions to pursue the government funds and even less quality education for those attending. This is evident in almost every government program. More maney in a government program does not equate to better results.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. While I support vaccinations, and there are examples of vaccines eradicating or minimizing the spread of disease, there are numerous reasons why a reasonable person may object.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The best defense is a good offense. We should engage countries around the world with the positive values of America. It is not our place to change countries or cultures, but we must be good ambassadors (all Americans) when we are abroad. There are instances where foreign aid, especially humanitarian, is an investment in peace. But, we must never be afraid to take the fight to those who would do America and her citizens harm. We can never have another 9/11.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Without borders, we do not have a country. We can stop the flow through our southern border. Part of it is border security. The other part is having a strong influence on the countries that allow immigrants to flow to our borders. We must hold them accountable.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Ther are plenty of people we should allow in our country. Some for humanitarian reason. Others for migrant work where we need the labor for our economy to thrive. And still others who bring valuable skills hat we need in our country. All of these should be done through a rigor process to ensure our country's safety and to provide a fair, level field for all those who seek to come to our great country.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
School choice should be expanded. Some schools simply are incapable of providing the education children deserve, others cannot provide an environment conducive to learning, and still others attempt to use a public platform for indoctrination. All students should be able to obtain a quality education regardless of their socioeconomic background. I do not think school choice is a one-size fits all proposition. What might work in Atlanta is probably not the same solution for rural Georgia.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Disagree
This is settled state law and state's recognize the marriages of other states. I have no desire to attempt to de-legitimize marriages/families. I may not see eye to eye with many different individuals on different issues. That does not mean I would seek to deprive them of their choices and rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I believe in God the Father, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I believe in free will, that we are all accountable for the decisions we make in this life. I will not lie, cheat, or steal. I believe most people are good. I empathize with the struggles of others. I believe there is always a way back...that everyone can be redeemed through His mercy.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I would eliminate all drop boxes. I would seek to prosecute to the full extent of the law anyone involved in ballot harvesting. I would implement secure ballots (much like Arizona) that would be incredibly difficult to counterfeit. I would eliminate no excuse absentee ballots. Absentee ballots would be serial numbered for accountability (we would know exactly how many were sent, and if those were the same received---though not identifying actual voters). I would implement automatic audits for closely contested races) and would implement no notice random audits to hold county and state election officials accountable for the conduct of their sworn duties.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. While their is racism, the real problem we face as a society is race baiting. It is extremely sad that some will find racism in ever action or event that does not go the way those wanted. We are a diverse country, one of the most diverse in the world, and we can and should be civil in all our interactions.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect our rights and freedoms.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Did not answer
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am not a politician. I have no aspirations for higher office, but I believe it is my duty to engage in this process. I would not call our politicians leaders, and I am afraid many are not public servants. I am dismayed by the power of money in politics. I have pledged to donate my salary to non-profits in my district. I intend to introduce legislation to prevent politicians from moving money from their campaign funds to other politicians. It causes conflicts of interests where legislators are then beholden to other legislators instead of their constituents.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No restrictions to the right to bear arms.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
