My Mom
OTHER INFORMATION
QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Where the life of the mother is at risk.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
That is NOT how you fix this issue. Strong conservative economic policies that create jobs is the way to increase the wealth of individuals across all classes.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
Reduction in the number of Federal employees across the board, all agencies, 5% per year for 4 years then re-visit the issue. Balanced budget legislation must be enforced.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
A flat simplified income tax is the best to reduce the number of employees at the bloated IRS and make life easier on all Americans. Corporate taxes should be lowered to 15% so American companies will return, stay, and grow in this country producing wealth for Americans of every background. We do not have a money problem, we have a spending and abuse problem that must be rectified if we are to survive the challenge from China.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
The law currently protects religious freedom, we must guard against the current trend to infringe on these rights.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
The right to deny service based on moral/religious beliefs should be respected.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Entirely separate from one another, but government should protect the rights of religious bodies.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
The military and schools require basic vaccines already and there is a legitimate purpose behind this. However when a new, unproven vaccine is rolled out in an expedited manner and forced on the entire population that is wrong. Americans should have the right to choose in these situations.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
My answer is "C", you will always have those who need the security of Medicare and Medicaid but these programs need much improvement and must be restructured to avoid abuses.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
My answer is "B". As much as we wish to be left alone, we are the world superpower and the beacon of freedom others look to. We should support and aid true democracies and all of our allies against any aggression from violent regimes. Some countries lack the good faith required for us to spend blood and treasure in their defense, and these should be avoided. If we must take military action, it should be short, swift, and decisive. At the same time, the security of the homeland is paramount and must take precedence in all matters.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
Israel is our best ally in the middle-east, and with the latest peace deals between Arab states and Israel, we have a chance for true growth as long as we show the world that we stand with our ally. Alone, Israel is more likely to be attacked which would eventually draw us into the conflict.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Our single biggest external threat is China across many issues. Current leadership, Joe Biden, is compromised which endangers the United States extraordinarily. There must be investigations into how people in Washington have been compromised, and likely prosecutions.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Forward deployed Special Operations Forces working in conjunction with friendly foreign nations must continue to hunt, disrupt, and destroy all terrorist organizations that pose a threat to the U.S. and our allies. This strategy is extremely effective and cost efficient.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
We must complete the southern border wall and use the National Guard to interdict drug and human trafficking. The U.S. Military should be used alongside the Mexican military to destroy the cartels in Mexico proper.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Also, any elected official responsible for sanctuary cities or states should be prosecuted for violation of Federal law.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
A temporary immigration moratorium is needed so that we can deal with the millions of illegals currently here, and allow those here legally to properly assimilate. Some of the divisiveness in this country is based in people coming here not to be Americans, but to suck off the government/taxpayer teat.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
All people are protected under current civil rights laws.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
This is simply divisiveness from the left meant to keep Americans distracted with petty in-fighting.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My core values are loyalty, honesty, protecting the weak, helping my fellow Americans, service to, and love of my country. My spirituality comes in the form of my love of family, friends, my Ranger Brothers, and the United States of America.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The majority of Americans agree that voter ID should be required. This, along with many other changes must be instituted to ensure secure and trustworthy elections. Without them, America will collapse into mistrust and partisan fighting.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
This is a major issue in our country today. If people cannot trust the voting system this country will descend in to armed conflict, that is a historical fact. This is easily and fairly fixed: 1) Election Day is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November - NO EARLY VOTING 2) Make Election Day and unpaid holiday - No excuse not to make it to the polls 3) All voting machines will be from one vendor purchased by the Federal Government and distributed to the states for uniformity 4) All ballots will be paper ballots used in the machines and kept secured 5) No voting machines shall be connected to the internet or any outside line of communication - Votes are tallied at the precinct level and reported from there 6) Voter ID mandatory - Everyone has one 7) No mail-in balloting with the exception of U.S. Military personnel, People over 65, and those with documented disabilities 8) No Drop Boxes 9) No Ballot Harvesting
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
This country is broke and $30 Trillion in debt. The vast majority of Americans did not even have family here prior to 1865 so why should they be penalized. This is just more divisiveness pushed by the liberal left.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
If the media, big-tech, and hack race-baiting politicians would shut up and just let Americans live, people get along just fine on a daily basis. It is the people who seek power from the anger of others, or seek to make money by viewers or "clicks" that are the real problem.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
We need to return to energy independence for our own security. Lower fuel prices mean lower prices on goods and services, they are inseparable.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
"A" but we can do both, nuclear and clean burning natural gas are the solution as we develop new sources of energy. Solar and wind are not technologically ready to power our needs and are a waste of time and resources right now. The capitalist system will produce the next great energy source, until then, we use what we know works and continue to improve it.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I am very conservative fiscally, on foreign policy and American security, but you cannot allow yourself to be boxed in, as in Special Operations Units, you must be flexible and adapt to the current situation. I also run a nonprofit that assists Americans in need during disaster, rescuing animals and assisting those in danger, no one ever asks who you voted for in those situations.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Here is a link to the media page for the nonprofit I run for disaster response: https://www.taskforce75.org/tf-75-in-the-news CNN Article War veterans deploy themselves to help Puerto Rico relief By Bill Weir and Rachel Clarke, CNN Updated 10:22 AM EDT, Thu October 19, 2017 While in Puerto Rico, CNN Reporter Bill Weir interviewed Task Force 75 member Eric Carlson and fellow Veterans from Warfighter DRT. A quote from Bill Weir's Twitter post: Bill Weir ?Verified account @BillWeirCNN Oct 19 "Eric Carlson and a few volunteer vets have fed 35,000 in borrowed trucks. If I was POTUS, I’d put him in charge."
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
As many in this state already know, our legal system has many faults and among them is the political influence some wield to tip the scales of justice. Unfortunately, I know this all to well. After having served honorably in the 75th Ranger Regiment and then entering law enforcement hoping to progress to the Drug Enforcement Agency I was falsely accused and wrongfully convicted in a politically influenced bench trial in Cook County. Cook County has the highest number of wrongful convictions in the nation and has had this disgraceful title for a long time. Cook County Leads Nation In Wrongful Convictions - CBS Chicago (cbsnews.com) This corruption in our system here in Illinois is one of the main reasons I am running. I know that at first glance voters will be put off by this revelation, but I ask them to listen to the whole series of events, look at all of the good I have done for others, and my public service. I ask that they talk to the people who know me to find out about my character and my sense of honor. When I tell those in the 1st District that I understand what a corrupt system can do, and that I understand their frustration and anger when no one will listen, I know this from my personal experience. Because of the limited space available here I will attempt to give the voters a brief outline of the events, but again, I ask media members to contact me, and I will gladly do interviews on the matter. In March of 1994 at the age of 25 and being a Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy, I was falsely accused of assaulting a woman, aged 29, and convicted in a bench trial by judge James Schreier. Judge Schreier has a documented history of wrongful convictions as was the case with me. Despite medical evidence and testimony from a doctor saying that the sex was likely consensual, and my testifying in my own defense, the judge pronounced me guilty and sentenced me to 12 years in prison of which I served 5 years 9 months. At trial the state called the woman’s sister, an Office Manager for Newsweek Magazine, and her cousin who was Mayor Richard M. Daley’s Press Secretary at the time. This case became one heavily influenced by interference from the mayor’s office. Richard M. Daley was also the Cook County State’s Attorney from 1980-89 and hired or promoted many of those involved in this case. I also point to the case of Richard Vanecko, a nephew of the mayor, to show what influence the Daley’s have in Cook County. To this day I stand behind my innocence and will gladly speak on the record with media who wish to investigate this matter.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I will work for every single person in the 1st District across all three of the counties that comprise it. My initial legislative priorities are: 1) Congressional Reform to include term limits - We cannot repair the damage that has been done by corrupt career politicians until we have the mechanism to remove them and their special interest donors that control them. 2) Election simplification and consolidation to ensure that the American people can trust the process. a) Election Day is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November -No early voting b) Mail in ballots only for military personnel, persons over 65, and those with documented disabilities c) Voter ID required d) No same day registration e) Uniform voting machines nationally (one type) - will not be connected to the internet, ballots counted at precinct level and totals reported. f) Paper ballots for all states - must be kept for record g) Make Election Day an unpaid holiday to facilitate access 3) Enforce the laws and secure the southern border immediately 4) Investigate Federal agencies for their illegal actions and abuses of power such as the DOJ, FBI, NSA, CIA. 5) Energy independence should be a priority for the security of this country I love this country, and I cannot stand by while many here seek to destroy what so many have sacrificed for. Honor and loyalty are my two greatest qualities which is why the false allegations from 1994 are so hurtful. I fully recognize the abuse I will take from those who are not familiar with how our system truly works, but I fear for the future of America and must make this effort. Again, I ask that media please contact me for information regarding my case so the voters have a true perspective on the matter.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
Without qualified immunity you will negatively impact the ability of police to do their jobs. They will hold back in fear of being sued or prosecuted for doing what is a difficult and necessary job.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
With increased and improved training for police, through greater funding, you will greatly improve policing professionalism, which in turn will result in fewer violent incidents and better community relations and support. The community plays a huge role in assisting law enforcement and police owe it to the community to weed out any problem officers.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
You will always have a certain percentage of people who commit crimes, and some will do so with firearms. You cannot infringe on law abiding citizens rights to keep and bear arms, and "red flag" laws are open to serious abuse.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
People are solely responsible for their own actions.
