RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If a mother's life at severe risk.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Lessen the tax burden for small businesses and individual proprietorships

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would be willing to look and reduce spending anywhere I could find unnecessary or excessive government spending in order to balance the budget and start paying the down the national debt.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Agree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I don't see any reason, outside of systemic criminal or violent behavior

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

B. I think Arkansas has proven a formula that has worked and benefited our citizens and our economy. Arkansas Works has been a tremendous model for the rest of the country to follow. When people do not have health insurance it is devastating to that family but also a burden to the society as a whole and incredibly burdensome to our hospitals. Our rural hospitals in Arkansas were on the financial brink because of uncompensated care loss. People who don't have health insurance still get sick and often their only solution for treatment is to show up at the emergency room. Our hospitals still have to treat these folks but without insurance the patient often waits till far too late and hospitals often provide treatment without ever getting paid for those services. The expansion of Medicaid under two Governors in Arkansas, one Democrat and one Republican, has been a savior for our hospitals and our rural healthcare providers. It has had a positive impact to Arkansas in the billions. Communities and economies can thrive when we provide an affordable pathway to healthcare for our working families.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Be vigilant and be willing to intervene when we see terrorist cells emerge whether domestic or abroad.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

We need to build a smart wall that includes honoring the rights private landowners in places (like Texas ranchers), respecting the pristine nature of some locations near our national parks (namely Big Bend), in paces where we would be better served by virtual monitoring with cameras and drones. AND in high traffic areas or particularly vulnerable spots along our border we need a strong and secure wall to protect our border. We also need to make sure the Border Patrol has resources they need.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We should set quotas and follow some of the guidelines laid out by Senator Tom Cotton in that we do need to focus on societal needs like Doctors, Engineers or any other highly specialized trained or educated through targeted visa and residency programs. We should allow enough immigration to keep our economy running at its best.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Neutral

I strongly support all churches having the freedom to define what they believe constitutes a marriage. I strongly support any Church who choose to refuse a service to something they deem as against their beliefs. I also support other churches exercising their beliefs. I don't want Government defining what a marriage means.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My father was an elder in Protestant Church and Christianity has been a guiding light throughout my life.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I believe we have adequate laws on the books, we just need to make sure they are enforced.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To provide security and the basic societal infrastructures that provide opportunity for all. Not necessarily equal outcomes, but guarantee equal opportunity.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://www.bellavistaar.gov

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I will always listen to any citizen who wants to be engaged. And I will always do what I believe is best for the people of Arkansas.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I strongly support second amendment right. I have been on the record and do support background checks. I know and personally believe we can be unapologetic in our fight to support and protect every citizen's right to bear arms. At the same time, we can prevent guns from getting in the hands of terrorists, illegal aliens, and convicted violent criminals if we have common sense background checks.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
