QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I am strongly opposed to abortion, government should not be allowed to tell us what we can or can’t do with our own bodies. It goes from allowing abortions to mandating vaccines. This is a moral issue that the family should seek assistance with through counseling or adoption agencies.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Everyone has an opportunity to serve even in their last breath. Too many times we take the easy way out when the example for our youth should be to never give up!

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

decrease taxes on consumables and fuels so that the burden of inflation is not so hard on the family unit. cut government spending on "want" programs and restrict it to "need" programs until the cost of raising a family is back to manageable numbers. "Want" programs such as increased per-diem rates for legislators at a rate of $151 per day. reduce it to $54 a day such as that of the military and push the funds to other "need" programs such as counseling for children that have suffered traumatic events.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Legislators pay, Legislators per-diem, Promotion of CRT or Transgender support would be cut.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Anything worth having is worth working for. Too many young adults fearful of what life has to offer will stay in school indefinitely in order to avoid having to enter the work force. We have affectively raised a large number of "intitled" young adults that knows little about working for what you want. I saw this through the new Soldiers entering the military and leaving as soon as they realized that they had to work for their success.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

There are too many companies and individuals that would do anything for a dollar to pick from. Many religions differ in requirements or restrictions so what one won't allow, the other will. As a small business owner, I refuse to be told who or what I have to support if I don't believe in their agenda. Such as Klu Kluk Klan (KKK) no one race is better than another or owes another anything. We learn from mistakes, and we move on, that is called wisdom.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None, Freedom of religion should be just that, freedom of religion. If there is an outbreak and people want to pray for healing, they should have the opportunity and right to go to their house of worship and pray. With that being said, provisions should be made to assist those wishing to attend church to stay sheltered so not to spread any illness until it can be determined that they are not infected. We all give a little, nobody has to have their freedoms infringed on.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Medicaid and Medicare should remain available as well as other programs that assist those that are not financially stable enough to seek medical assistance without help. With that said, Government mandated, and controlled healthcare is not the answer either. As a former member of the military getting healthcare where and when they say I could, prevented me from seeking quality help and taking what they had to offer. The medical field should be similar to any other consumer industry in that if you don't like the way a car dealership treats you, then you move on to another until you buy the vehicle you want with the service you desire. IF a doctor has crappy bedside manner, then you should have the ability to move on to a doctor that better suits your needs. In a government ran program, you are assigned a Primary Care Physician and you get what you get. Their limited skills will get your referred to a specialist who they are familiar with or go golfing with but may not be the best doctor for the job. Again, you get what you get, and it may not result in the outcome you desire. If we have the opportunity to pick our physicians, then their motivation to treat people with compassion and do a good job is important if they want to stay in business very long.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. There is no situation where any government or anyone should be able to mandate anyone to put anything into their bodies that they are not comfortable with. If we start allowing governments to mandate vaccinations, we will soon have governments that have the ability to restrict how many children families can have, or how communities can function or not function if they don't feel they have done enough to meet the status quo on required vaccines. schools and employers that desire to mandate vaccinations should not be allowed to do so either. With the project warp speed for the vaccination production recently completed, there is a testimony to what research can do. At the same time, there is little known side effects to what those vaccines will bring down the road. I want my families to be able to decide what they get and when they get it. I took the vaccine early so that my kids could see what happened to me. That was my choice to provide some kind of security as to the effects of the vaccine.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

This will never happen. As a former anti-terrorism officer, I will go on record that you will never "eradicate" Islamic Terrorism. We can only reduce the threat by hardening our targets of opportunity. More law enforcement with better training to be able to identify threats and address them accordingly. Programs put in place to educate the communities about the Islamic terrorism threat, so they are better prepared to defend their families in cases of violence. We can only hope to decrease the threat and that is done through education and preparation.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Agree

We have enough issues right here at home concerning equality. I don't think we need to be sending money to anyone, or any government, that refuses to treat their people equally. With that said, every government has the responsibility to protect their citizens. If there is a threat to the people and security of their citizens then we have a responsibility as a leading Nation to assist where we can, as long as it does not deprive or endanger our own citizens.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

The transportation of drugs is reason enough to justify the building of a barrier that channels immigration through a quality control checkpoint. The death rate from overdose of Fentanyl has increased dramatically. The only way to reduce the threat to our citizens is to increase the protective posture of our southern boarder.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those individuals that have no record of violence as long as their intentions are to better their lives or the lives of their family members. This can be monitored with required visits from authorities ensuring that they are not violating or bringing risk to the citizens of the U.S. If it is found that they have been arrested for any acts of violence, they are to spend their time in jail and then be remove from the country permanently.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure quality education for their children. If they feel that home schooling is the best option for their child, then they should have that right to home school as long as the child meets the standard learning goals set by the department of education. Same applies if a parent feels that one particular school falls short on education, then they should have the opportunity to move them to another school

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

Do onto your neighbor as you would want to be done by your neighbor, we shalt not bear false witness.... If we can get our current government to follow this value alone, just think where we would be as a country today!

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I'm not sure exactly what this question is asking here so I will say it like this. God created Man and Woman period! No other genders and to believe in transgender is to believe that God makes mistakes, which I refuse to believe. With that said, there should be no discrimination between men and women! I deployed with nine women that performed their duties as well as any man could have under the same circumstances.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. God created Man and Woman to be together and bare children, which is impossible for two females or two males to do without outside assistance. Freedom of religion should protect those that refuse to marry two men or two women if their religion forbids the union of same sex partners.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I serve a God that says all men are created equal. I have never been racist, and I refuse to pay for the wrong doings of those that are. I have experienced reverse racism on several occasions. It had nothing to do with the institution I was trying to do business with, it had everything to do with the individual full of hate. CRT has no place in my home or my community.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that God has a plan for all of us and that we are to be there to serve if necessary to ensure a quality of life that allows opportunities to those that otherwise would not have them. I believe that we are all going to be held accountable for our action or inactions one day and when that happens, it will be too late to make amends to those we wronged. I believe that God created us all equal and that we have the opportunity to make it better or, unfortunately, mess it up. He gave us the freedom of choice and allows us to make mistakes so that we can learn from them. Freedom is important in anything you do or everything you do. I can do more with ten people that want to be there than one hundred people that have to be there. With freedom comes responsibilities such as Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Loyalty to God first, then to those we serve. Loyalty that will keep you doing what is right all the time and not just when it is convenient. Duty to share our values, to serve without reservations, to put our constituents before ourselves. Respect to be given to all citizens regardless of race, religion, or national origin. Respect for our elderly, our youth, and our citizens in need. Respect when listening, talking, or debating. Selfless Service to put all others before ourselves, work late nights if necessary, work weekends if necessary, and to work without pay if necessary. Honor, to bring honor to the people as their representative, to conduct ourselves in a manner that brings honor to God as well as those we represent. Integrity is to do the right thing all the time because someone is always watching. Not allow temptation to cause bias when making decisions. To always ensure fair and impartial judgement based on facts and not emotions. Personal Courage is to call out those who are not serving in the manner that brings honor to the office. Those breaking the rules for their own benefit. Personal Courage to do what is right even if the cost is high.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

this is the most important decision we can make in support of our freedom! It needs to be protected just like those being protected from young adults buying liquor and drinking and driving. I don't mind showing my ID when voting. It reassures me that the votes are more likely to be accurate.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

From my experience, I had to show my ID, I had privacy to vote the way I wanted to, and I was not coerced to vote any specific way. I don't' know that I would change anything as long as those laws stay in affect.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes: Racism is a contributor to hate and violence. Regardless of your position, if you are racist towards another race of people, then your contempt only allows room for hate to generate action. Action that could cost the lives of innocent men, women, and children. Many wars thought-out history have started with racism. WWII with Hitler's racism towards the Jewish population, our own civil war, the American Indian war and others. Racism is a threat to domestic tranquility and educating those that lack the understanding that racism only causes hate is critical in order to put it behind us. That is why I strongly disagree with the BLM movement. It is my believe that the BLM movement is no better than the KKK movement. Anything that suggest that any one race owes anything to anyone based on skin color, religious preferences, national origin, sex, or anything else that might be considered a factor that separates two individuals is ridiculous. Morgan Freeman said it best, "you want to get rid of racism, stop talking about it!"

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

I don't see where any one race has overall superiority over any other race. We as parents teach our kids values through our actions as well as our words. If we choose to teach our kids that they are going to be held back because of their race, then they may eventually believe it. I grew up in a poverty stricken home and that didn't stop me from finding a way to become successful. We all have a shot at success, we only need to do what is required to get there.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

There is a happy medium. We need to protect our environment, that is for certain, but we can easily go overboard with the restrictions. For example, as a former logger, I can't tell you how many trees I have cut trying to raise a family. I have seen the commercials talking about deforestation and the effects that it can have on our environment. Some cases this could be true, however, after logging off a track of timber, the upper canopy was removed allowing for the younger trees to get the necessary sunlight to grow. the affects were in almost every case that within ten years, it was hard to tell the land had been logged. Some trees grow faster than others, such as pine and oak and with the proper management, there will be trees to harvest for many more years to come. The most forest friendly industry is the logging industry since it is considered an investment into tomorrow's harvest. Conservation of water is more concerning to me. Not allowing industries to dump waste unmonitored into water systems is not acceptable. There are some chemicals that can't be treated out of water to make it drinkable. Because of this, we need enforce our clean water laws and regulation to ensure potable water for future generations. Stopping the Key Stone Pipeline based on environmental concerns makes no since to me when the risk of trucks, hauling the oil to refineries, leaking or being involved in an accident that would cause a spill is higher than that of the pipeline. The hardship caused to the American people based on this information alone is not justified and therefore should not be happening.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Neutral

The risk of contamination of ground water is noted in all studies concerning fracking. However, the reduced coal consumption and increased energy security are both pros that need to be considered. With the right regulations in place and enforced, fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources could be completed in a safe manner for the environment as well as the citizens within the area.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To support the citizens, not to rule them!

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I believe in traditional values, and I believe that we should take care of our own before we take care of everyone else. We should do what is necessary to ensure the security of our Nation and its citizens. I believe that there might be times when the Government needs to get involved but not at the cost of our freedoms.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

The only publicly available information that I have are the words of my Soldiers who have known me as a leader and have witnessed my philosophy, my values, and my dedication to their success. I have never held an elected position although I have served in the capacity compatible to that of a county judge. I have managed a budget that supported educating Soldiers, provided facilities/roads maintenance, worked with internal as well as external law enforcement personnel and agencies, conducted FEMA operations and Anti-Terrorism operations. My values have always been on display and any Soldier that worked with me will tell you that what I have reported here is exactly how I conduct myself.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No, In-fact, I have defended women that have been sexually assaulted and/or harassed. I did this because I believe women should be respected and treated as such. I attribute this to the fact that I have three daughters and have lost a wife to cancer. I know the importance of loyalty as well as the importance of respect and believe that neither can be present in a relationship where infidelity is present.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My priorities are to work for the people in a manner that bring honor to the office. To reduce government spending by prioritizing "needs" over "wants" such as reducing per-diem for legislators so that funding for children subjected to trauma needing counseling can be afforded. I want to address the corruption and put an end to the office supporting companies and individuals with money and start supporting all the people. I won't get any indorsements from large companies because I am not doing this for them, I am doing it for those I served to protect. I refuse to be bought or coerced to vote in a manner that would be dishonest or would betray those I swore to defend. My priority is to find good people holding office and work with them to clean up and clean out the corruption. I served for 38 years because I believe in America and our freedoms and will continue to do so with the tenacity that I did while wearing the uniform. I believe in digging my well before I am thirsty and that is why I am getting involved before it is too late. Ten years ago, if I had made a statement that we would have grown men following young women into female bathrooms and it be considered alright, I would have been considered crazy, yet here we are with transgender males wanting to be females. Five years ago, if I had said that we would have a movement that would put businesses at risk of vandalism and theft and that law enforcement personnel could do little or nothing about it, I would have been considered crazy. Yet we have the BLM movement and over 570 riots have happened across the country with Billions of dollars lost to vandalism and theft, not to mention the lives lost and changed forever. Two years ago, if I would have said that the government will prevent us from going on dates, churches, stores, vacations, or family gatherings, I would have been considered crazy, yet it happened, and the excuse was COVID. If we don't do something and stand for our freedoms, they might not be here tomorrow for our children to enjoy. Ronald Raegan said it best, when he said we are one generation from losing our freedoms and each generation has the responsibility to protect them".

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

Police officers should have the protection of the department if they are conducting themselves in a manner that is consistent with departmental policies. For example, in Thursday's, April 7th paper of the Madison County Record, there is an article about a deputy facing battery charges for use of a taser. If he was following department policies concerning the use of tasers, then he should be immune from prosecution and the leadership should be standing trial for their approval of the policy.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

As a former Post Command Sergeant Major, one of my many assignments was oversight of the installation law enforcement and security personnel. On many occasions, cars were not available due to lack of funding to make necessary repairs, protective gear was not available due to lack of funding, weapons systems were worn often malfunctioning, and ammunition was in short supply due to lack of funding. This prevented proficiency training which leads poor performance when necessary for mission success.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The second Amendment say that all citizens have the right to bear arms. With that said, anyone with a history of violence towards other human beings should not be allowed to own a firearm. I don't care want kind of weapon a law-abiding citizen wants to own in order to protect their family and home, if they can afford it then as far as I am concerned, they can have it.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Thats like saying that victims of auto accidents should be able to sue car dealers and manufacturers. It isn't the dealers or the manufactures' fault that a gun owner shoots someone, unless it can be determined that there was a deficiency in the construction of the weapon. As long as the proper paperwork has been completed and the dealer has ensured that the purchaser of the weapon is not restricted from having a weapon, then they should be exempt from prosecution.
